Abstract

Description
本申请是申请日为2012年10月5日、申请号为201280054571.2、发明名称为“光纤盒、系统和方法”的发明专利申请的分案申请。
背景技术
随着对电信的需求增加,光纤网络正在扩展到越来越多的领域中。线缆的管理、安装方便和对于后续管理而言易于触及都是重要的问题。因此,需要解决这些和其它问题的光纤装置和方法。
发明内容
本发明的一个方面涉及一种光纤盒,其包括盒体,该盒体限定前部和相反的后部以及封闭的内部。线缆入口部限定于所述盒体中,用于使线缆进入所述光纤盒的内部。在所述线缆入口部进入的线缆附接于所述盒体,光纤延伸到所述盒体中并且在连接器处形成端接。所述连接器连接至位于所述光纤盒的前部处的适配器。所述适配器的前侧限定端接部位,用于将线缆连接至在所述适配器的后部处连接的光纤。
本发明的一个方面涉及提供包括护套、增强部件的线缆。增强部件和护套压接于压接管并且安装于所述盒体,允许光纤延伸经过所述压接管进入所述盒体的内部。在所述线缆入口部设有应变消除套管。
在一个实施例中,所述线缆入口部位于所述盒体的与所述前部相反的后部。在一个实施例中,所述盒体限定顶面和底面,所述顶面和所述底面限定所述盒体的主面并且在所述前部与所述后部之间延伸。沿着所述前部的所述适配器在一个实施例中被直线状地布置并且在与由所述盒体的顶面和底面所限定的主面平行的纵向上延伸。光纤盒可以被定向在任何位置上,使得顶面和底面可以颠倒,或竖直地定位,或定位在其它方向上。

具体实施方式
在图1-8中,第一光纤盒10被示出为包括第一线缆12,其连接到用于在前端口16处接纳如LC或SC连接器等连接器的适配器或适配器模块14。盒10具有单一线缆12,它包括端接在如MPO式连接器等远侧连接器22处的多根光纤20。线缆12可以具有各种长度,如1到3英尺多达50到100英尺,或更多。
盒10包括限定前部28、后部30和内部32的盒体26。盒体26还包括顶部34、底部36和侧面38、40。
盒体26限定在所示实施例中沿着后部30的线缆入口部44。在所示实施例中,线缆12包括外护套50和围绕内部光纤20的内部增强部件52。光纤20延伸经过护套50的端部和增强部件52的端部,并进入内部32用于与适配器14处的前连接器连接。
如图所示,线缆12包括在线缆入口部44实现应变消除的套管60。线缆12可以在箭头A的方向上背离盒体26挠曲,并且利用套管60保护线缆12免受过大的弯曲。入口44设置成靠近角部42,从而套管60和线缆12由于能够存在于后通道46中而在入口44处受到局部保护。
适配器14直线状地布置并且沿纵向轴线62设置。线缆入口部44处的线缆12平行于纵向轴线62延伸,尽管允许相对于纵向轴线62存在一些弯曲。
通常,盒10包括大致平行于彼此并限定盒体26的主面的顶部34和底部36。侧面38、40、前部28和后部30限定盒体26的次面。盒可以被定向在任何位置上,使得顶面和底面可以颠倒,或竖直地定位,或定位在其它方向上。
如下面将要描述的,多行适配器14可与盒10一起设置。参见图32。在所示实施例中,适配器14的尺寸适合接纳前SC连接器。LC连接器可与适当尺寸的适配器一起使用。参见图9、20和32。
线缆12利用压接管70和压紧环72连接到线缆入口部44,压紧环72将护套50和增强部件52压接到压接管70上。小空腔76捕获压接管70,以利用盒体26进行保持。空腔捕获压接管70的六角端78,以利用盒体26保持线缆12。
布置在盒体26的内部32中的是多个半径限制器80,其为布置在内部32中的光纤提供线缆弯曲半径保护。线缆半径限制器80可以呈离散的内部结构的形式,和/或围绕前部28、后部30和侧面38、40形成的弯曲外表面。
在所示实施例中,适配器14形成在具有前端92和相反的后端94的模块结构90中。前端92包括用于接纳SC连接器108的轮廓。前端92包括用于夹到SC连接器上的SC夹96。适配器模块90还包括夹到毂套100(安装到套圈106上的毂盘104)上的后夹98,毂套100与在盒10的内部32露出的每根光纤20端接。毂套100形成后连接器。拼合套管102还设置用于在毂套100(后连接器)和前SC连接器108的套圈之间进行套圈对准。
如图8所示,光纤20在压接管70和由毂套100处的端接限定的后连接器之间设有冗余长度。光纤的剧烈弯曲得以避免。在所示实施例中,盒10的小尺寸需要一些光纤20经由限制器80反向。
现在参考图9,盒110以与盒100类似的方式构成,不同的是适配器114的尺寸适合在前部128接纳LC连接器。毂套制造得相对较小,以适应LC前连接器。适配器114优选地形成为模块120。
在图1-9中,模块90、120卡扣配合或以其它方式附接到盒体26的其余部分。盖48覆盖模块90、120后的后部区域。盒10、110可以被密封,或者它们是可打开的,以便允许修理或清洁内部毂套100。在某些情况下,模块90、120可以卡扣配合到外壳26上的其余部分以便于组装。模块90、120还可以优选地从盒10、110的其余部分移除以允许清洁内部连接器。内部光纤松弛允许模块90、120背离盒10、110的其余部分被拉动短的距离。
图10-12示出在没有前适配器模块的情况下根据本发明的光纤盒的第三实施例。前夹220用来夹到适配器模块90、120上并与模块上的突出支柱接合。
光纤盒310的另一实施例显示于图13-19中。盒310在与盒10、110、210类似的位置处包括线缆12、套管60和线缆入口部344。盒310包括可与盒体326的其余部分分离的可移除适配器模块320。一旦移除,模块320允许后毂套100以与盒10、110、210类似的方式被移除。后夹98包括夹到毂套100上的两个夹部件330。为了释放,突部332被压在一起,这导致夹部件330绕枢转部件334向外枢转,从而允许移除毂套100进行清洁。拼合套管102可以在移除过程中保持在套圈106上,并且需要被移除来清洁套圈末端。
盒310还包括用于松弛存储光纤的空腔338。空腔338形成有位于盒体326中的圆形外表面338和位于适配器模块320中的圆形外表面350。突部360帮助在组装和随后移除模块320的过程中通过使光纤存储环指向下来便于将光纤存储环定位在空腔338中。
现在参考图20-27,示出了盒410的另一可选实施例。图13-19的盒310与盒410的一个区别在于适配器模块420的内部的尺寸适合接纳如SC或LC等传统连接器。在示例性实施例中,适配器的尺寸适合接纳LC连接器408。在光纤盒的该实施例中,前端口416的尺寸适用于LC连接器,并且示出了在一些端口416中使用衰减器450(具有防尘帽460)。
现在参考图28,盒10被示出为安装在机箱中沿着进入的滑动方向关于机箱进行相对运动。为了进行比较,盒10包括连接到后MPO面板480的单一输入线缆。类似的高密度配线架或块在美国专利No.6,591,051中进行了描述,其公开内容通过引用并入本文。应该注意的是,本文描述的盒可以用在如美国专利No.6,591,051描述的电信机架的滑动包中,该专利的全部内容通过引用并入本文,或者用在其它抽屉和固定装置中。诸如图28所示的滑动适配器包150被示出为具有延伸到扇出端(fanout)430的多个单根光纤,扇出端430然后具有引导到MPO面板480的线缆450。盒10允许仅仅单一线缆12被处理,从而节省了空间和安装时间。
现在参考图29-31,盒10被示出为安装到外壳500,其中外壳被容纳在机箱530中。图31示出图29和图30所示的外壳500被竖直和水平地安装在机箱530的不同部分。优选地,外壳500可滑动地移动,以触及选定的盒10。
现在参考图32和33,盒610的可选实施例被安装到容纳在机箱630中的另一外壳600上。盒610包括尺寸适合于LC连接器的两行前适配器。

在一个实施例中,盒10通常具有3至4英寸的长度(平行于纵向方向62)、2至3英寸的宽度(从前到后),以及约1/2英寸的高度。更优选地,长度为3至31/2英寸,宽度为2至21/2英寸,并且高度为1/2英寸。高度可以根据需要改变,例如以容纳多行适配器。利用这样的结构,优选的是,线缆利用应变消除套管在外壳的后部进入并且平行于前部压接,而且内部线缆包括如利用弯曲的内表面管理的松弛,以避免到达最小的弯曲半径以下。
根据一些方面,某些类型的适配器900可构造成从容纳在该适配器处的一个或多个光纤连接器920收集物理层信息。例如,如图38所示,某些类型的适配器900可以包括构造成保持一个或多个介质读取接口1020的本体1000,介质读取接口1020构造成使存储器触点接合在光纤连接器920上。一个或多个介质读取接口1020可以被定位在适配器本体1000中。在某些实施方式中,适配器本体1000限定在适配器本体1000的外部与内部通道之间延伸的槽1010,连接器920的套圈容纳在内部通道中。
某些类型的介质读取接口1020包括被定位在槽1010中的一个或多个触点部件1021。如图38所示,每个触点部件1021的一部分延伸到通道的相应一个中,以使存储器触点接合在光纤连接器920上。每个触点部件1021的另一部分也延伸到槽1010之外以与电路板1030接触。盒的多个部分可以限定导电通路,导电通路构造成将适配器900的介质读取接口1020与主电路板连接。主电路板可以包括或连接(例如,通过网络)到处理单元,处理单元构造成管理由介质读取接口获得的物理层信息。也参见图20-27的盒410。
2011年2月11日提交的题为“Managed Fiber Connectivity Systems”的美国专利申请No.13/025,841示出了具有介质读取接口的示例性适配器和具有适当存储装置和存储器触点的示例性光纤连接器,该申请的公开内容通过引用并入本文。
除了上述盒的各种用途和应用之外,这些盒可以用来端接多光纤FOT线缆的光纤,例如144光纤线缆,以使端接线缆的安装更容易且更快。另外,这些盒可以与如在US 2011/0222829或US 2011/0044599中公开的线缆卷筒相关联,其公开内容通过引用并入本文。所公开的盒的一个优点在于在各个连接器的领域中的处理被消除或具有上护套的MPO连接器和扇出端被消除。
Claims (12)
1.一种光纤盒,包括:
盒体,其限定前部和相反的后部以及封闭的内部;
线缆入口部,其限定于所述盒体中,用于使线缆进入所述光纤盒的内部,
其中,在所述线缆入口部进入的线缆附接于所述盒体,光纤延伸到所述盒体中并且在第一连接器处形成端接,所述第一连接器是非传统连接器,所述第一连接器中的每个仅仅由端接光纤的套圈和安装到套圈上的毂盘形成;
所述第一连接器连接至位于所述光纤盒的前部处的适配器的后侧,每个适配器包括在适配器的后侧处的后夹,所述后夹直接夹到第一连接器中的其中一个的毂盘;
所述适配器的前侧限定端接部位,用于将线缆连接至在所述适配器的后侧处连接的光纤,其中所述端接部位构造成接纳具有与连接到所述适配器的后侧的第一非传统连接器不同形式的第二连接器,每个第二连接器是传统连接器,其中,以包括多个适配器的适配器模块的形式来提供所述适配器,所述适配器模块经由所述盒体的前夹可移除地安装到所述盒体的其余部分,所述前夹构造成接合所述适配器模块上的结构,以使得所述适配器模块卡扣配合至所述盒体的所述其余部分;

2.根据权利要求1所述的光纤盒,其中,所述线缆入口部位于所述盒体的与所述前部相反的后部。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的光纤盒,其中,所述盒体限定顶面和底面,所述顶面和所述底面限定所述盒体的主面并且在所述前部与所述后部之间延伸,沿着所述前部的所述适配器被直线状地布置并且沿着与由所述盒体的顶面和底面所限定的主面平行的纵向延伸。

6.根据权利要求1或2所述的光纤盒,其中,所述后夹也固持与内部光纤端接的第一连接器中的其中一个的拼合套管。

11.根据权利要求1或2所述的光纤盒,其中,所述适配器模块的前端限定用于接纳LC类连接器的开口。
12.根据权利要求1所述的光纤盒,其中,所述传统连接器包括SC或LC连接器。
