发明描述
本发明涉及NOR-HALS化合物在阻燃剂聚合物组合物中的用途。这些组合物尤其适用于制造基于热塑性聚合物(尤其为聚烯烃均聚物和共聚物)、缩聚物(例如多胺或聚酯)和硬塑性聚合物(例如聚环氧化物)的阻燃剂组合物。
将阻燃剂加入聚合材料(合成的或天然的材料)中以增强聚合物的阻燃性能。取决于其组成,阻燃剂可在固相、液相或气相中以化学方式(例如通过释放氮气而作为起泡剂(spumescent))和/或以物理方式(例如通过产生泡沫覆盖)而起作用。阻燃剂在燃烧过程的特定阶段期间(例如在加热、分解、点火或火焰蔓延期间)进行干扰。
仍需要可用于不同聚合物基材中的具有改进性能的阻燃剂组合物。在安全性和环境要求方面提高的标准使得管理愈加严格。特别是已知的含卤素阻燃剂不再符合所有必需的要求。因此,无卤素阻燃剂,尤其是鉴于其在与火相关的烟密度方面的更好性能而为优选的。改进的热稳定性和较小的腐蚀行为为无卤素阻燃剂组合物的其他益处。
NOR-HALS化合物由EP 1 731 508已知作为稳定剂用于合成树脂以保护这些底物以防由化学品或酸雨的作用而引起的降解。
惊人地发现,在将所选择的NOR-HALS化合物加入聚合物基材中的情况下,制得具有优异阻燃性能的热塑性或硬塑性聚合物。
这些组合物具有优异的热稳定性,且因此尤其适合用于制造电气与电子部件和装置的工程热塑性塑料和环氧树脂层压物中的应用中。通过在热塑性和硬塑性树脂中使用本发明的阻燃添加剂,可大大地降低或替换常规含卤素阻燃剂和卤化环氧树脂、锑化合物和无机填料。
本发明涉及下式的NOR-HALS化合物在聚合物中诱生阻燃性中的用途:

上式(I)中的由R1和R2表示的C1-C30烷基的实例为线性,或可能的话,支化烷基,例如甲基、乙基、正丙基、异丙基、正丁基、叔丁基、异丁基、正戊基、仲戊基、叔戊基、正己基、异己基、正庚基、正辛基、异辛基、2-乙基己基、叔辛基、正壬基、异壬基、正癸基、正十一烷基、正十二烷基(月桂基)、正十三烷基。正十四烷基(肉豆蔻基)、正十五烷基、正十六烷基(鲸蜡基)、正十八烷基等。
其中存在如上所定义的化合物(I)的聚合物组合物获得与制定的阻燃剂测试方法相关的所需等级,尤其是聚烯烃组合物。
该化合物(I)优选以基于组合物的总重量为约0.005–90.0 wt.%,优选约0.02-20.0 wt.%,最优选0.10–15.0 wt.%的量含于本发明阻燃剂组合物中。
术语聚合物和基材在其范围内包括热塑性和硬塑性聚合物以及热固性材料。
以下给出合适热塑性聚合物的列举:
1.单烯烃和二烯烃的聚合物,例如热塑性聚烯烃(TPO),例如聚丙烯、聚异丁烯、聚丁-1-烯、聚-4-甲基戊-1-烯、聚乙烯基环己烷、聚异戊二烯或聚丁二烯,以及环烯烃如环戊烯或降冰片烯的聚合物,聚乙烯(其任选可交联),例如高密度聚亚甲基(HDPE)、高密度和高分子量聚乙烯(HDPE-HMW)、高密度和超高分子量聚乙烯(HDPE-UHMW)、中密度聚乙烯(MDPE)、低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)、线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)、(VLDPE)和(ULDPE)。
聚烯烃,即前面段落中例举的单烯烃聚合物,优选聚乙烯和聚丙烯,可以通过不同方法制备,尤其通过下列方法制备:
a)自由基聚合(通常在高压和升高的温度下)。

含磷阻燃剂为例如间苯二酚苯基磷酸酯低聚物(AkzoNobel)、磷酸三苯酯、双酚A苯基磷酸酯低聚物()、三(2,4-二叔丁基苯基)磷酸酯、乙二胺二磷酸酯(EDAP)、四(2,6-二甲基苯基)间苯二酚二磷酸酯、二乙基-N,N-双(2-羟乙基)氨基甲基膦酸酯、磷酸的羟基烷基酯、连二磷酸(H3PO2)的盐(尤其为Ca2+、Zn2+或Al3+盐)、硫化四(羟甲基)、三苯膦、氧化三苯膦、一氧化四苯二膦、磷腈和9,10-二氢-9-氧杂-10-磷酰基菲-10-氧化物(DOPO)及其衍生物(例如2-(9,10-二氢-9-氧杂-10-磷杂菲-10-氧化物)-1,4-苯二醇)。
含氮阻燃剂为例如异氰脲酸酯阻燃剂,例如聚异氰脲酸酯、异氰脲酸的酯或异氰脲酸盐。代表性实例为异氰脲酸羟烷基酯,如异氰脲酸三(2-羟乙基)酯、异氰脲酸三(羟甲基)酯、异氰脲酸三(3-羟基正丙基)酯或异氰脲酸三缩水甘油基酯。
含氮阻燃剂包括其他基于蜜胺的阻燃剂。代表性实例为:氰脲酸蜜胺、硼酸蜜胺、磷酸蜜胺、焦磷酸蜜胺、多磷酸蜜胺、蜜胺多磷酸铵、蜜胺焦磷酸铵、磷酸二-蜜胺和焦磷酸二-蜜胺。

上述有机卤素阻燃剂通常与无机氧化物增效剂组合。最常使用锌或锑的氧化物,例如Sb2O3或Sb2O5。合适的还有硼化合物。
代表性无机阻燃剂包括(例如)氢氧化铝(ATH)、勃姆石(AlOOH)、氢氧化镁(MDH)、水滑石、硼酸锌、CaCO3、(经有机改性的)层状硅酸盐、(经有机改性的)层状双氢氧化物及其混合物。
基于组合物的总重量,上述额外阻燃剂类有利地以有机聚合物基材的约0.5重量%至约75.0重量%(例如约10.0重量%至约70.0重量%;例如约25.0重量%至约65.0重量%)的量含于本发明的组合物中。
根据另一实施方案,本发明涉及组合物,其此外包含所谓的抗滴落剂作为额外组分。
这些抗滴落剂在高温下降低热塑性聚合物的熔体流动且抑制液滴形成。多个参考文献(例如美国专利说明书4,263,201)描述将抗滴落剂加入阻燃剂组合物中。
在高温下抑制液滴形成的合适添加剂包括玻璃纤维、聚四氟乙烯(PTFE)、高温弹性体、碳纤维、玻璃球等。
多个参考文献中已提出加入具有不同结构的聚硅氧烷;参见美国专利说明书6,660,787、6,727,302或6,730,720。
根据另一实施方案,本发明涉及组合物,其此外包含填料和增强剂作为额外组分。合适填料为例如玻璃粉末、玻璃微球、二氧化硅、云母、硅灰石和滑石。
稳定剂优选不含卤素,且选自硝酰基稳定剂、硝酮稳定剂、氧化胺稳定剂、苯并呋喃酮稳定剂、亚磷酸酯和亚膦酸酯稳定剂、甲基化醌稳定剂和2,2'-亚烷基双酚的单丙烯酸酯稳定剂。

基于组分c)的聚合物基材的重量,上述添加剂的含量优选为0.01-10.0%、尤其是0.05-5.0%。
通过已知方法如以粉末形式干混或以例如惰性溶剂、水或油中的溶液、分散体或悬浮液形式湿混,将上述组分掺入聚合物组分中。可在模塑之前或之后,或还可通过将溶解或分散的添加剂或添加剂混合物施用于该聚合物材料中(随后蒸发或不蒸发该溶剂或悬浮/分散剂),掺入添加剂组分。例如可以干燥混合物或粉末或以溶液或分散体或悬浮液或熔体形式将它们直接加入加工装置(例如挤出机、内部混合机等)中。

将试样垂直放置且将点火火焰在试样的下边缘施加(边缘点火测试)。
基于火焰蔓延150mm样品的时间进行分类。
如果火焰在20秒内不能到达150mm参考标记,则测试的膜通过测试且分类为B2。
UL 94-VTM和UL 94-V

将造粒的全部配制的树脂使用与挤出机Collin E 30 M连接的流延膜设备CollinCR-136/350在230℃的最大温度Tmax下流延为250μm膜。
表4中列出了所得到的膜和添加剂的浓度:

含有0.8%FR-1的TPO(热塑性聚烯烃)膜的阻燃性
TPO 1mm膜制造
在160℃下在双辊研磨设备上将屋顶薄膜等级热塑性聚烯烃(CA 10 ANatural(Lyondell Basell Polymers))与2%二氧化钛颜料、0.1%硬脂酸钙和FR-1共混并通过使用热压机将其在170℃的温度下熔融配混为1mm的板。在表7中列出了所得到的板和添加剂浓度。

实施例4
含有FR-1的注塑等级聚丙烯(MFI 25)的阻燃性
聚合物组分:MOPLEN HP 552 R(Lyondell Basell(PP))
阻燃剂组分:ADK STAB LA-81(ADEKA):二(1-十一烷氧基-2,2,6,6-四甲基哌啶-4-基)碳酸酯(FR-1)
(THOR GROUP LIMITED):季戊四醇二-甲基膦酸酯(FR-2)
将PP、FR-1和FR-2以所示量预混并在230℃的最大温度Tmax下在共转双螺杆挤出机Berstorff 32D(实验室尺寸双螺杆挤出机,螺杆直径为25mm)上熔融配混为团粒。
厚度为1.6mm的UL94-V测试试样通过注塑制备(Engel EK 65)。

HDPE膜制造
将高密度聚乙烯((Lyondell Basell))与FR-1干混并在210℃的最大温度Tmax下在型号为Collin 42D的共转双螺杆挤出机(实验室尺寸双螺杆挤出机,螺杆直径为25mm)上熔融配混为团粒。
将造粒的全部配制的树脂挤出并在230℃的最大温度Tmax下通过使用与挤出机Collin E 30 P连接的型号为180/400的吹膜挤出设备Collin吹塑。
所得到的膜和添加剂的浓度列于表10。

含有FR-1的线性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)的阻燃性
LLDPE膜制造
将线性低密度聚乙烯(1002YB(Exxon Mobile))与1%FR-1干混并在210℃的最大温度Tmax下在型号为Collin 42D的共转双螺杆挤出机(实验室尺寸双螺杆挤出机,螺杆直径为25mm)上熔融配混为团粒。将造粒的全部配制的树脂在190℃的最大温度Tmax下通过使用与挤出机Collin E 30 M连接的流延膜设备Collin CR-136/350流延为100和200μm膜。
所得到的膜和添加剂的浓度列于表13。

Claims (5)
1.一种组合物,其包含:
a)至少一种下式的NOR-HALS化合物:
其中
R1和R2为正十一烷基;
b)选自如下的阻燃剂化合物:季戊四醇二-甲基膦酸酯;
c)聚合物基材。
2.根据权利要求1的组合物,其包含作为任选地组分的额外阻燃剂和选自如下的添加剂:四烷基哌啶添加剂、聚合物稳定剂、填料、增强剂和所谓的抗滴落剂,所述抗滴落剂在较高温度下降低热塑性聚合物的熔体流动且降低液滴形成。
3.根据权利要求2的组合物,其包含作为额外阻燃剂的选自如下的含氮化合物:多磷酸蜜胺、多磷酸铵、蜜胺磷酸铵、蜜胺多磷酸铵、蜜胺焦磷酸铵、蜜胺与磷酸的缩合产物以及其他蜜胺与磷酸的反应产物及其混合物。
4.一种在聚合物中诱生阻燃性的方法,包括向聚合物基材中加入如下的组合:
a)至少一种下式的NOR-HALS化合物:
其中
R1和R2为正十一烷基;和
b)选自如下的阻燃剂化合物:季戊四醇二-甲基膦酸酯。
5.根据权利要求1的组合物在聚合物中诱生阻燃性中的用途。
