背景技术
食物产品盘一般具有平面的或平坦的对称密封凸缘。传统的密封方法使用密封表面,所述密封表面被应用于在密封凸缘的平面表面的紧邻的上方的一个平面内。此外,对于容器的给定长度的密封凸缘,这样的方法一般使用相等长度的盖膜料(film stock),以至于密封凸缘长度等于其在原始的非成形的片上的突伸尺寸。

具体实施方式
提供一种用于密封具有一个或更多个弯曲的非平面密封凸缘的包装的系统和方法。所述方法包括以机器方向在传送带上推进具有非平面密封凸缘的包装。可选的粘结工位位于传送装置上的密封工位的上游。粘结工位可以包括盖材料供应辊,以及多个辊和/或模具,这些辊和/或模具从供应辊传输盖材料、切割盖材料、将盖材料粘结到包装的前密封凸缘,并且在另一密封凸缘上对齐盖材料。在盖材料被粘结到前密封凸缘的情况下,包装可以沿传送装置被推进到密封工位。
所述方法还包括创建单个接触点或夹压点(nip point),并且允许盖材料与包装的非平面长度而不是密封凸缘的突伸长度一致并且遵循包装的非平面长度来将盖材料密封到密封凸缘。这可以通过使用一个或更多个旋转密封构件来实现。所述方法进一步可以包括以协调的方式移动旋转顶部密封构件和包装,从而保持密封力始终垂直于接触位置(contact)的切线。在示例性包装的描述之后,本文中将会更加具体地论述所述系统和方法。
参照图1-图4,提供具有非平面密封凸缘的示例性容器100。术语非平面凸缘将被理解为意指具有在一个平面内的第一表面以及在不同的平面内的第二表面的凸缘。非平面凸缘可以整个为弯曲的,可以为部分弯曲的且部分平直的,或者可以具有相对于彼此成角度的两个或更多个平直的部分。
如图2中所示,容器100可以被用来储存食物产品130。食物产品130可以为薄脆饼干、曲奇饼、威化饼、巧克力、糖果等。如图2中所示,食物产品130可以以一个或更多个堆叠或者排的形式被储存,或者可以被倾倒填充到(dump-filled)容器100中。容器100可以由柔性材料制成,包括但不限于聚乙烯、聚丙烯等。例如,容器100可以为热形成的、注塑成型的、吹塑成型的等。容器100也可以为层压的并且可选地包括金属化层。如图3所示,盖134可以被密封到容器100来提供容器100气密密封。盖134可以为柔性的或刚性的。
参照图1和图4,示例性容器100可以具有底壁116、前壁117、两个相对的侧壁118和120以及介于其间的中空内部119。容器具有前端110(在机器下游方向上)、与前端110相对的后端111、底表面112以及与底表面112相对的顶表面114。容器100不具有与前壁117相对的后壁。取而代之的是,容器100在后端111具有开口区。该开口区可以被用来将储存在容器100的中空内部119中的食物产品130卸载到供给使用的表面上,例如盘或板。可选地,与前壁217相对的后壁可以被提供。
容器100包括前密封凸缘102、后密封凸缘104以及侧密封凸缘106和108。前凸缘102以及侧凸缘106和108的邻近部分是平坦的并且位于相同的水平面内,一起限定容器100的顶表面114。侧密封凸缘106和108的部分可以弯曲或以平直线偏离或者以其他方式从顶表面114朝向后密封凸缘104下降。如此一来,如图1所示,前凸缘102和后凸缘104位于不同平面内。事实上,如图4中可见的,包括前密封凸缘102和后密封凸缘104的不同平面相对于彼此成角度。类似地,后凸缘104以及侧凸缘106和108的部分位于不同平面内。容器100的密封凸缘的非平面形状提供容器100独特而美观的外形。
参照图4,容器100的前端110的部分可以是平直的并且垂直于顶表面114。前密封凸缘102伸出超过前端110并且突出于前端110之上。弯曲的过渡部分113被形成在容器100的前端110和底表面112之间。底表面112靠近弯曲的过渡部分113的部分可以是平面的或平坦的并且可以平行于顶表面114。容器100的底表面112的平坦部分允许容器100当被安置在平坦表面(例如货架或桌子)上时是稳定的。
靠近容器100的后端111,容器100的底表面112可以向上弯曲或线性地偏离来形成抬起的部分115。底表面112的该非平面形状不破坏容器100当被安置在平坦表面(例如货架)上时的稳定性,因为底表面112的大部分是平坦的。抬起的部分115可以用作储存在容器100的中空内部119中的圆形食物产品130的止动件,并且可以防止食物产品130意外地滚出容器100。
继续参照图4,侧凸缘106和108的非平面部分限定容器的后端111。后端111可以部分或其整个为弯曲的。容器100的后端111终止于后密封凸缘104,所述后密封凸缘104略低于容器100的底表面112的抬起的部分115延伸。
图5-图9图示说明具有一个或更多个非平面密封凸缘的第二示例性容器200。类似于容器100,如图6中所示,容器200可以被用来储存食物产品230。容器100可以由柔性材料制成,包括但不限于聚乙烯、聚丙烯等。容器200可以为层压的并且可选地包括金属化层。例如,容器200可以为热形成的、注塑成型的、吹塑成型的等。如图6所示,盖234可以被密封到容器200来提供容器200气密密封。盖234可以为柔性的或刚性的。
参照图5和图8,容器200可以具有底壁216、前壁217、两个相对的侧壁218和220以及介于其间的中空内部219。容器200还包括前密封凸缘202、后密封凸缘204以及侧密封凸缘206和208。前密封凸缘202可以包括凸舌部分222,在打开容器200时,所述凸舌部分222便于使用者剥离或者以其他方式移除盖234。
类似于容器100,容器200不具有与前壁217相对的后壁。取而代之的是,容器200具有介于密封凸缘202、204、206以及208之间的开口区。该开口区可以被用来将食物产品230装载到容器200内和/或将食物产品230卸载到容器200外。可选地,与前壁217相对的后壁可以被提供。如图6所示,容器200的中空内部219可以储存一个堆叠的食物产品230,或者可以储存能够被倾倒填充的松散的食物产品,例如,糖果、薯条、坚果或葡萄干。
参照图8,容器200具有前端210(在机器下游方向上)、与前端210相对的后端211、底表面212以及与底表面212相对的顶表面214。前密封凸缘202可以伸出超过容器200的前端210并且突出于容器200的前端210之上。容器200的后端211终止于后凸缘204。
参照图8,容器200靠近后端211的底表面212可以弯曲或以平直线偏离或者以其他方式向上来形成抬起的部分215。后密封凸缘204可以延伸略超过底表面212的抬起的部分215并且突出于底表面212的抬起的部分215之上。底表面212的非平面形状不破坏容器200当被安置在平坦表面上时的稳定性。相反,伸出的后密封凸缘204和底表面212的非平面形状可以为容器200创建当被安置在平坦表面(例如货架或桌面)上时的一稳定点。此外,底表面212的抬起的部分215可以为圆形食物产品230创建止动件并且可以限制食物产品230意外地滚出容器200。
容器200的侧凸缘206和208可以从前密封凸缘202到后密封凸缘204部分或其整个为非平面的。如此一来,容器200的顶表面214可以部分或其整个为非平面的。类似地,容器200的底表面212可以从前密封凸缘202到后密封凸缘204部分或其整个为非平面的。如此一来,容器200可以具有非平面前端210和非平面后端211。侧凸缘206和208以及底表面212和顶表面214的非平面形状提供容器200独特而美观的外形。
如图9所示,容器200还可以被安置为直立定向。侧凸缘206的非平面形状和侧壁218的外部表面可以在平坦表面上为容器200创建一个或更多个稳定点。盖234可以包括品牌信息,所述品牌信息被垂直定向(即,以从后密封凸缘204到前密封凸缘202的方向从左到右),从而容器200可以在商店货架上以独特的直立定向被标价出售。
参照图10-图16,现在将描述将盖施加和密封到容器100的传送装置系统300和方法。将要理解的是,该系统和方法以及下面描述的系统和方法中的任一种可以有利地被用来密封前述容器200或者具有一个或更多个非平面密封凸缘的任何其他容器。
图10图示说明传送装置系统300,所述传送装置系统300在箭头所示的机器方向上推进多个食物储存容器100。传送装置系统300包括粘结工位330和密封工位370。一般地,当容器100通过粘结工位330时,盖或遮盖物被放置到容器100上,并且当容器100通过密封工位370时,盖被密封到容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108,来为储存在容器100中的食物产品提供遮盖和气密密封。
参照图10-图12,粘结工位330包括供应辊332,所述供应辊332包括盖材料334。盖材料334可以由薄的柔性材料制成,例如聚合物膜或层压制件、箔等。可替换地,盖材料334可以由更刚性的材料制成。盖材料334可以以机器方向从供应辊332解绕形成连续卷材(web)335并且经由一系列中间辊338、340、342、344和346在模具辊348和真空辊350之间被送进。模具辊348可以包括切割表面,所述切割表面可以相对于模具辊348的旋转速度被转位(index),以至于用于遮盖容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108的具有适当长度的一块盖材料334可以通过模具辊348和真空辊350的动作的结合动作,从连续卷材335被切断。
真空辊350具有可以平行于供应辊332的旋转轴的旋转轴。真空辊350的旋转轴还可以平行于容器100在其上行进(travel)的传送装置表面312。真空辊350可以以与机器方向相反的方向旋转。具有多个细长臂352的支撑构件以机器方向在传送装置表面312下旋转。当支撑构件旋转时,如图11和12所示,支撑臂352在传送装置表面312上延伸。
当容器100沿传送装置表面312以机器方向移动时,真空辊350将盖材料334施加到容器100的前密封凸缘102上。当盖材料334被真空辊350施加到容器100的前密封凸缘102时,如图11所示,支撑臂352旋转到支撑臂352基本上垂直于前密封凸缘102的位置。在该位置,支撑臂352可以与前密封凸缘102的下侧接触,或者可以略微低于前密封凸缘102的下侧。如图11所示,前凸缘102被粘结或夹在真空辊350的底表面和支撑臂352的上表面之间。因为容器100和前凸缘102是柔性的,所以当密封力通过真空辊350被施加到前凸缘102时,支撑臂352确保前密封凸缘102不会弯折或损坏。
在真空辊350将盖材料334施加到容器100的前密封凸缘102之后,容器100沿传送装置表面312以机器方向进一步移动,以至于容器100的侧密封凸缘106和108在真空辊350下通过。因为侧凸缘106和108的部分在与前凸缘102相同的平面内,所以如图12所示,辊350可以将盖材料334与侧凸缘106和108对齐。
在将盖材料334施加到侧密封凸缘106和108期间,容器100向前移动并且支撑臂352向前旋转,以至于支撑臂352可以保持与容器100的前端110接触。支撑臂352由此可以在盖材料334通过真空辊350被施加到侧凸缘106和108时用作容器100的后止动件,来限制容器100由于通过真空辊350所施加的力而意外移出适当位置。因为容器100的后凸缘104是非平面的并且在前密封凸缘102所处的平面下延伸,所以真空辊350的底表面不接触后密封凸缘104,并且如图12所示,当容器100离开粘结工位330时盖材料334保持为未附接到后密封凸缘104。
盖材料334的下侧以及前凸缘的上表面中的任一者或二者可以具有粘合剂层。如此一来,当容器100离开粘结工位330时,盖材料334可以通过粘合剂部分地附接到前密封凸缘102和/或侧密封凸缘106和108。因而,尽管盖材料334没有附接到后密封凸缘104并且没有完全密封到密封凸缘102、106或108中的任一个,当容器100沿传送装置表面312朝向密封工位370移动时,盖材料334不会移位或从容器100跌落。
要理解的是,传送装置系统300可以包括具有抓取和放置装置的粘结工位而不是图1中所示的粘结工位330。例如,粘结工位会包括被选定尺寸和形状来匹配容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108的尺寸和形状的柔性盖材料334的预切割片的堆叠或者刚性盖材料334的多个片或堆叠。粘结工位会进一步包括抓取和放置装置,所述抓取和放置装置可以将一片盖材料334抓取离开堆叠并且将该片盖材料334传输到沿传送装置表面312移动的容器100上。例如,抓取和放置装置可以为基于真空的并且可以具有与盖材料334的一个或更多个接触点。类似于真空辊350,抓取和放置装置可以施加压力到前密封凸缘102的顶部,以至于由抓取和防止装置放置到容器100上的该片盖材料334会至少被粘结到前密封凸缘102,以确保在容器100沿传送装置表面从粘结工位移动到密封工位370时,盖材料334不会意外地从容器100跌落。
要理解的是,粘结工位(例如粘结工位330)可以被完全省略并且柔性或刚性盖材料334可以从供应卷料或供应堆叠被直接传输到容器上并且在密封工位370以一个步骤被密封到容器100的密封凸缘。以这种方式,具有部分附接的盖材料334的容器100将不会沿传送装置表面312在粘结工位330和密封工位370之间行进。相反,不具有施加到它们的盖材料334的敞开的容器100会沿传送装置表面312行进,直到它们到达密封工位370,在密封工位370,盖材料334会被初次施加到容器100并且容器100会被密封。
参照图10,在密封工位370,传送装置表面312具有空隙并且底部旋转模具360的一部分在所述空隙中旋转并且在传送装置表面312上方伸出。两个顶部旋转模具或密封构件366和368在底部旋转模具360上旋转。底部旋转模具360可以具有固定的旋转轴并且以机器方向旋转。底部旋转模具360包括多个模具座体362。每个模具座体362包括被选定尺寸和形状来接纳容器100的腔。每个模具座体362还包括多个支撑表面363、365、367以及369,所述多个支撑表面363、365、367以及369被配置来匹配容器100的前密封凸缘102、后密封凸缘104以及侧密封凸缘106和108的形状和定向。
当容器100以机器方向在传送装置表面312向下游移动时,如图15所示,容器100的一部分通过传送装置表面312的一部分的后缘314并且容器100被搁置到底部旋转模具360的模具座体362的腔中。容器100可以仅由于传送装置表面312的向前运动而被搁置到底部模具360的模具座体362中,或者可以被抬起的肋313中的一个从后面推(push)而被辅助,所述抬起的肋313可以以相等或不相等的间隔沿传送装置表面312被安置。
容器100被安置在模具座体362中,以至于只有密封凸缘102、104、106以及108从形成在模具座体362中的腔伸出。特别地,容器100的密封凸缘102、104、108以及108分别置于模具座体362的支撑表面363、365、367以及369上。如图15和图16所示,橡胶或塑料插入件364可以围绕每个座体362的支撑表面363、365、367以及369,来补偿在材料和机器定向上的变化。

如此一来,当被接纳在底部旋转模具360的座体362中的容器100在第一顶部模具366下通过时,顶部模具366将盖材料334密封到容器100的侧凸缘106和108。特别地,当容器100在顶部模具366下的底部旋转模具360的座体362中移动时,顶部模具366在侧凸缘106和108上滚动,以至于盖材料334和容器100的第一和第二侧密封凸缘106和108被夹在顶部模具366的模具表面366a和366b以及底部模具360的座体362的支撑表面367和369之间。类似于在粘结工位330的支撑臂352,因为顶部模具366对容器100的柔性侧密封凸缘106和108施加密封压力,所以座体362的支撑表面367和369分别向侧密封凸缘106和108提供支撑并且防止侧密封凸缘106和108的弯折和/或损坏。
在底部模具360的座体362在顶部模具366下通过并且盖材料334被密封到容器100的侧凸缘106和108之后,座体362在第二顶部模具368下行进。第二顶部模具368将盖材料334密封到容器100的前密封凸缘102和后密封凸缘104。特别地,当容器100在顶部模具368下通过时,首先盖材料334和前密封凸缘102被夹在顶部模具368的模具表面368a和底部模具360的座体362的支撑表面363之间。
然后,容器100的盖材料334和后凸缘104被夹在底部模具360的座体362的模具表面368和支撑表面365之间。类似于在粘结工位330的支撑臂352,因为顶部模具368对容器100的侧凸缘106和108施加密封压力,所以座体362的支撑表面363和365分别向容器100的前密封凸缘102和后密封凸缘104提供支撑并且防止前密封凸缘102和后密封凸缘104的弯折和/或损坏。
因为座体362的支撑表面367和369以及侧凸缘106和108是非平面的,所以第一和第二顶部密封构件366和368及其各自的密封表面366a、366b以及368a不是仅仅绕顶部密封构件366和368的初始旋转轴移动。特别地,当顶部密封构件366和368的模具表面366a、366b、以及368a沿各自的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108行进时,顶部密封构件366和368可以在相对于它们的初始旋转轴向上的方向和相对于它们的初始旋转轴向下的方向二者上行进。如此一来,每个密封构件366和368具有可以进行往复运动的可变的旋转轴,并且容器100与顶部密封构件366和368的相对位置可以随着盖材料334被密封到容器100而改变。
底部旋转模具360以及顶部密封构件366和368的旋转速度在盖材料334密封到容器100期间可以是恒定的。可替换地,顶部密封构件366和368中的一者或二者的旋转速度在盖材料334密封到容器100期间可以改变。
顶部密封构件366和368可以以垂直于容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108的方向施加密封压力。更具体地,顶部密封构件366和368的底表面可以向容器100的非平面密封凸缘102、104、106以及108施加垂直于切线的密封力。这可以提供平滑作用,所述平滑作用能够消除盖材料334当被施加到容器100时的不期望的褶皱。当在下一密封点处形成密封时,密封接触点上游的任何褶皱可以通过顶部密封构件366和368被消除,尤其是因为顶部密封构件366和368的密封表面366a、366b以及368b沿密封凸缘102、104、106以及108的表面从容器100的前端110到后端111连续地行进。
参照图15,在第二顶部模具368将盖材料334密封到容器100的后凸缘104之后,容器100被传输回到传送装置表面312。特别地,传送装置表面312的前端316可以具有在朝向底部旋转模具360的方向上延伸的装载平台317。装载平台317可以具有上表面318,所述上表面318在与传送装置表面312相同的水平面内。可替换地,装载平台317的上表面318可以在传送装置表面312上方或下方,或者可以相对于传送装置表面312成角度。装载平台317可以具有前缘319。
当座体362与完全密封的容器100一起被底部模具360朝向装载平台317旋转时,装载平台317的前缘319可以将前密封凸缘102从底部模具360的座体362的支撑表面363抬起。在前凸缘102被抬起的情况下,底部模具360的向前运动可以促使容器100的后凸缘104以及侧凸缘106和108分别被抬起离开剩余的支撑表面365、367和369,以至于容器100可以从座体360被退出(eject)并传输到装载平台317上。装载平台317可以短于容器100,并且如此一来,当密封的容器100被传输到装载平台317上时,容器100的一部分变得与传送装置表面312的下游部分的前缘316接触并且被推到前缘316上。
传送装置表面312可以由与容器100具有充分摩擦力的材料制成,以至于当容器100的一部分位于传送装置表面312上或者与传送装置表面312接触时,容器100可以被拉到传送装置表面312上。如果传送装置表面312的平坦部分没有将容器100拉离装载平台317,则抬起的肋313中的一个可以便于容器100从装载平台317到传送装置表面312上的传输。一旦回到传送装置表面312上,容器100可以沿传送装置表面312朝向如本领域中已知的封装(packing)或堆积工位行进。
参照图17-图22,现在将描述用于将盖施加到容器100的传送装置系统400和方法的第二实施方案。类似于第一传送装置系统300,第二传送装置系统400可以被用来密封容器200或者具有一个或更多个非平面密封凸缘的任何其他容器。
传送装置系统400包括粘结工位430和密封工位470。当容器100通过粘结工位430时,盖材料434被放置到容器100上,并且当容器100通过密封工位470时,盖材料434被密封到容器100,来为储存在容器100中的食物产品提供遮盖和气密密封。
粘结工位430与参照传送装置系统300描述的粘结工位430相同而在此将不会被单独描述,但是相似的参考编号将用来指示相似的部件。传送装置系统400可以包括如上面参照粘结工位330所描述的具有抓取和放置装置的粘结工位,而不是如图17中所示的粘结工位430。
当容器100与粘结到前密封凸缘102的盖材料434一起离开粘结工位430时,它们以机器方向朝向密封工位470行进。在密封工位470,传送装置表面412的一部分具有空隙并且底部旋转模具460在空隙中旋转且在传送装置表面412上方伸出。底部旋转模具460与上面参照传送装置系统300描述的底部旋转模具360相同而将不会被单独描述,但是相似的参考编号将用来指示相似的部件。
传送装置系统400包括安置在底部旋转模具460上的旋转顶部模具或密封构件466,而不是两个顶部旋转密封构件366和368。如图19-图22所示,顶部密封构件466可以具有多个模具或表面结构472,所述多个模具或表面结构472具有与底部旋转模具460的座体462匹配的轮廓几何结构。顶部密封构件466的模具或表面结构472可以为连续弯曲的或非平面的来提供渐开线形状(involute shape)。特别地,每个模具472具有被选定尺寸和形状来分别匹配底部模具460的座体462的支撑表面463、465、467以及469的密封表面473、475、477以及479。在底部模具460在机器方向上旋转时,顶部密封构件466以与底部模具460相反并且与机器方向相反的方向旋转。
当被接纳于底部旋转模具460的座体462中的容器100在顶部密封构件466下通过时,底部旋转模具460的密封表面473、475、477以及479和座体462的支撑表面463、465、467以及469与盖材料434接触并且分别夹住盖材料434和容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108,以将盖材料434以气密的方式密封到容器100。如图20和图21所示,橡胶或塑料插入件464可以围绕每个座体462的支撑表面463、465、467以及469,来补偿在材料和机器定向上的变化。
特别地,当位于底部模具460的座体462中的容器100在顶部密封构件466下通过时,如图20所示,首先盖材料434和容器100的前密封凸缘102被夹在顶部密封构件466的密封表面473和底部模具460的座体462的支撑表面463之间。当顶部密封构件466和底部模具460继续旋转时,顶部密封构件466的密封表面477和479在侧密封凸缘106和108上滚动并且将盖材料434夹到底部模具460的座体462的支撑表面467和469。
最后,如图21和图22所示,顶部密封构件466的密封表面475和底部模具460的座体462的支撑表面465夹住盖材料434和后密封凸缘104,来将盖材料434密封到容器100,以至于容器100是以气密的方式被密封的。类似于在粘结工位430的支撑臂452,因为顶部密封构件466对容器100的前密封凸缘102、后密封凸缘104以及侧密封凸缘106和109施加密封压力,底部旋转模具460的座体462的支撑表面463、465、467以及469分别向容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108提供支撑并且防止密封凸缘102、104、106以及108的弯折和/或损坏。
顶部密封构件466绕一个旋转轴旋转并且底部模具460绕可以平行于或者不同于顶部密封构件466的旋转轴的一个旋转轴旋转。如此一来,密封构件466具有恒定旋转轴。因为底部模具460的座体462的支撑表面467和469以及容器100的侧凸缘106和108是非平面的,顶部密封构件466的密封表面477和479具有匹配的弯曲度并且沿各自的非平面密封凸缘106和108行进,而不需要顶部密封构件466行进到其旋转轴之外。要理解的是,顶部密封构件466和底部模具460可以具有同步的旋转速度。进一步地,要理解的是,密封构件460和底部模具466的旋转速度可以与传送装置表面412的速度同步。
因此,与可以通过在它们的旋转轴和离开它们的旋转轴行进而进行往复运动的顶部密封构件366和368不同,顶部密封构件466可以在仅绕一个恒定旋转轴行进的情况下密封容器100的所有密封凸缘102、104、106以及108。类似于顶部密封构件366和368的密封表面366a、368a以及638b,顶部密封构件466的密封表面473、475、477以及479可以向容器100的非平面密封凸缘102、104、106以及108提供垂直于切线的密封力。这可以提供平滑作用,如上面参照传送装置系统300更为详细地论述的,所述平滑作用能够消除盖材料434当被施加到容器100时的不期望的褶皱。
参照图17,基本上如上面参照传送装置系统300所描述的,在顶部密封构件466将盖材料434密封到容器100的后凸缘104之后,以气密的方式密封的容器100可以从底部旋转模具460的座体462被传输回传送装置表面412。例如,传送装置表面412可以包括类似于上面参照传送装置系统300描述的平台317的装载平台。可替换地,底部模具460由于其向前的旋转运动可以简单地将密封的包装100卸载到传送装置表面412上。一旦回到传送装置表面412上,容器100可以沿传送装置表面412朝向如本领域中已知的封装或堆积工位行进。
参照图23-图28,现在将描述用于将盖施加到容器100的传送装置系统500和方法的第三实施方案。类似于传送装置系统300和400,传送装置系统500可以被用来密封容器200或者具有一个或更多个非平面密封凸缘的任何其他容器。
传送装置系统500包括粘结工位530和密封工位570。当容器100通过粘结工位530时,盖材料534被放置到容器100上,并且当容器100通过密封工位570时,盖材料534被密封到容器100,来为储存在容器100中的食物产品提供遮盖和气密密封。
粘结工位530与参照传送装置系统300描述的粘结工位330相同而在此将不会被单独描述,但是相似的参考编号将用来指示相似的部件。传送装置系统500可以包括如上面参照粘结工位330所描述的具有抓取和放置装置的粘结工位,而不是如图23中所示的粘结工位530。
传送装置表面512包括在形状上与上面参照传送装置系统300和400描述的模具座体362和462类似或相同的多个模具座体562。模具座体562沿传送装置表面512形成所谓的模具链。如图23所示,当容器100与粘结到它们的前密封凸缘102的盖材料534一起离开粘结工位530时,容器100以机器方向沿传送装置表面512行进并且被搁置到传送装置表面512上的各自的模具座体562中。
容器100被搁置在模具座体562中,以至于只有容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108从形成在模具座体562中的腔伸出。特别地,容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108分别置于模具座体562的支撑表面563、565、567以及569上。如图25和图26所示,橡胶或塑料插入件564可以围绕每个模具座体562的支撑表面563、565、567以及569来预防,以补偿在材料和机器定向上的变化。
传送装置系统500包括在密封工位570安置在传送装置表面512上方的旋转顶部模具或密封构件566。顶部密封构件566可以与上面参照传送装置系统400描述的顶部旋转模具或密封构件466相同,并且在适当的情况下,相似的参考编号将被用来描述相似的部件。
如图26-图28所示,旋转顶部密封构件566具有与形成在传送装置表面512上的座体562匹配的轮廓几何结构。特别地,顶部密封构件566具有多个模具或表面结构572,所述多个模具或表面结构572具有被选定尺寸和形状来分别匹配模具座体562的支撑表面563、565、567以及569的模具密封表面573、575、577以及579。顶部密封构件566的模具或表面结构572可以为连续弯曲的或非平面的来提供渐开线形状。顶部密封构件566以与图23中所示的机器方向相反的方向旋转。当被接纳在模具座体562中的容器100在顶部密封构件566下通过时,密封表面573、574、577和579以及座体562的支撑表面563、565、567和569分别夹住盖材料534和容器100的凸缘102、104、106以及108,来以气密的方式将盖材料534密封到容器100。
特别地,当位于座体562中的容器100在顶部密封构件566下通过时,如图26所示,首先盖材料534和容器100的前密封凸缘102被夹在顶部密封构件566的密封表面573和座体562的支撑表面563之间。当座体562以机器方向移动并且顶部密封构件566旋转时,顶部密封构件566的密封表面577和579在侧密封凸缘106和108上滚动并且分别将盖材料534夹到座体562的支撑表面567和569。
最后,如图27和图28所示,顶部密封构件566的密封表面575和座体562的支撑表面565夹住盖材料534和后密封凸缘104,来将盖材料534密封到容器100,以至于容器100是以气密的方式被密封的。类似于在粘结工位530的支撑臂552,因为顶部密封构件566对容器100的前密封凸缘102、后密封凸缘104以及侧密封凸缘106和108施加密封压力,所以座体562的支撑表面563、565、567以及569分别向容器100的密封凸缘102、104、106以及108提供支撑并且防止密封凸缘102、104、106以及108的弯折和/或损坏。
顶部密封构件566绕可以平行于传送装置表面512的一个旋转轴旋转。因为座体562的支撑表面567和569以及容器100的侧凸缘106和108为非平面的,所以顶部密封构件566的密封表面577和579具有匹配的非平面形状并且可以沿各自的非平面密封凸缘106和108行进,而不需要顶部密封构件566行进到其旋转轴之外。要理解的是,顶部密封构件566可以具有相对于传送装置表面512的速度同步的旋转速度。
因此,与可以在它们的初始旋转轴和离开它们的初始旋转轴径向地行进的顶部密封构件366和368不同,顶部密封构件566可以在仅绕一个旋转轴行进的情况下密封容器100的所有密封凸缘102、104、106以及108。类似于顶部密封构件366和368的密封表面366a、368a以及638b,顶部密封构件566的密封表面573、575、577以及579可以向容器100的非平面密封凸缘102、104、106以及108提供垂直于切线的密封力。这可以提供平滑作用,如上面参照传送装置系统300更为详细地论述的,所述平滑作用能够消除盖材料534当被施加到容器100时的不期望的褶皱。
参照图17,在顶部密封构件566将盖材料534密封到容器100的后凸缘104之后,以气密的方式密封的容器100沿传送装置表面512在模具座体562中继续移动,直到其达到堆积或封装工位。
可选地,结合传送装置系统300、400以及500描述的方法中的任一种可以包括在包装中创建压力气氛的步骤,这以远离储存在所述包装中的所述食物产品的方向推动所述盖。类似地,结合传送装置系统300、400以及500描述的方法中的任一种可以包括在食物产品中创建保护气氛,来增加储存在包装中的食物产品的保存期。进一步地,要理解的是,分别结合传送装置系统300、400以及500描述的密封构件366、368、466以及566的密封表面可以由金属制成或者由弹性材料制成。
这些教导描述具有非平面的密封凸缘的容器。所述容器可以使用上面论述的方法中的任一种来密封,所述方法适于密封具有非平面密封凸缘的包装。
本领域的技术人员将意识到,可以针对上面描述的实施方案进行各种各样的修改、变通和组合,而不偏离本发明的精神和范围,并且这样的修改、变通和组合要被视为在本概念的范畴内。

Claims (38)

1.一种密封包含食物产品的包装的方法,所述方法包括:
将盖施加到围绕所述包装的周边的非平面凸缘;
支撑所述非平面凸缘的至少一部分;以及
通过使用密封构件在相对所述盖和所述凸缘的一个或更多个切点处施加压力,将所述盖渐进地密封到所述非平面凸缘的被支撑的部分,所述密封构件具有压力施加表面,所述压力施加表面绕旋转轴旋转并且所述压力施加表面相对于所述旋转轴径向变化或者所述压力施加表面的所述旋转轴进行往复运动。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中支撑所述非平面凸缘的至少一部分的步骤进一步包括在渐进地密封所述盖的步骤期间,沿所述凸缘的整个表面支撑所述凸缘。
3.如权利要求1和2中的任一项所述的方法,其中支撑所述非平面凸缘的至少一部分的步骤进一步包括使用凸缘支撑表面支撑所述凸缘,所述凸缘支撑表面绕旋转轴旋转,所述凸缘支撑表面的所述旋转轴平行于所述压力施加表面的所述旋转轴。
4.如权利要求1和2中的任一项所述的方法,其中所述非平面凸缘在垂直于所述压力施加表面的所述旋转轴的直线方向上推进。
5.如权利要求3所述的方法,其中施加盖的步骤进一步包括将所述盖的一部分粘结到所述非平面凸缘的前端的步骤。
6.如权利要求3所述的方法,其中渐进地密封所述盖的步骤包括在第一平面内将所述盖的一部分密封到所述凸缘的前端并且在第二平面内将所述盖的另一部分密封到所述凸缘的后端。
7.如权利要求3所述的方法,进一步包括沿传送装置表面运送所述包装的步骤,其中所述盖的一部分附接到所述非平面凸缘并且所述盖的一部分未附接到所述非平面凸缘。
8.如权利要求3所述的方法,其中支撑的步骤进一步包括提供至少一个座体的步骤,所述至少一个座体包括腔,所述腔被配置来接纳所述包装,其中所述凸缘至少部分在所述腔之外。
9.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中渐进地密封的步骤包括提供至少一个圆柱形顶部密封构件的步骤,所述至少一个圆柱形顶部密封构件具有至少一个密封表面,所述至少一个密封表面被配置来旋转并且接触所述非平面凸缘以将所述盖密封到所述包装。
10.如权利要求9所述的方法,其中提供至少一个圆柱形顶部密封构件的步骤包括提供两个圆柱形顶部密封构件,其中所述密封构件中的一个将所述盖的一个部分密封到所述非平面凸缘的一个部分,并且所述密封构件中的另一个将所述盖的另一部分密封到所述非平面凸缘的另一部分。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,其中提供两个圆柱形顶部密封构件的步骤包括以不同速度旋转所述两个圆柱形顶部密封构件的步骤。
12.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中渐进地密封的步骤包括提供底部旋转模具的步骤以及提供顶部旋转密封构件的步骤,所述底部旋转模具具有多个座体,每个座体具有多个支撑表面,所述多个支撑表面被配置来支撑其上的所述非平面凸缘,所述顶部旋转密封构件具有多个密封表面,所述多个密封表面被配置来接触所述座体的所述支撑表面以将所述盖密封到所述包装。
13.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中渐进地密封的步骤包括提供传送装置表面的步骤以及提供顶部旋转密封构件的步骤,所述传送装置表面包括多个座体,每个座体具有多个支撑表面,所述多个支撑表面被配置来支撑其上的所述非平面凸缘,所述顶部旋转密封构件具有多个密封表面,所述多个密封表面被配置来旋转并且接触所述支撑表面以将所述盖密封到所述包装。
14.如权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包括使用包括真空设备的抓取和放置装置将所述盖施加到所述凸缘上的步骤。
15.如权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包括提供具有密封表面的所述密封构件的步骤,所述密封表面整个是非平面的。
16.如权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包括使用多个辊将所述盖从供应膜卷料施加到所述凸缘上的步骤,所述辊中的至少一个包括切割表面。
17.如权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包括在一个工位将所述盖放置和密封到所述非平面凸缘上的步骤。
18.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中渐进地密封的步骤包括在所述包装中创建压力气氛,所述压力气氛以远离储存在所述包装中的所述食物产品的方向推动所述盖。
19.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中渐进地密封的步骤包括在所述食物包装中创建保护气氛来增加储存在所述包装中的所述食物产品的保存期。
20.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述盖由柔性膜制成。
21.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述盖由刚性材料制成。
22.如权利要求1所述的方法,进一步包括提供具有非平面凸缘的食物储存包装。
23.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中所述包装具有顶表面,所述顶表面整个是非平面的。
24.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中所述包装具有底表面,所述底表面是部分平面且部分非平面的。
25.如权利要求22所述的方法,其中所述包装包括盘,所述盘具有所述非平面凸缘。
26.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中渐进地密封的步骤包括使用所述密封构件的步骤,所述密封构件具有密封表面,所述密封表面相对于所述旋转轴径向变化。
27.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中渐进地密封的步骤包括使用所述密封构件的步骤,所述密封构件具有进行往复运动的旋转轴。
28.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述非平面凸缘在机器方向上具有短于在所述机器方向上沿所述凸缘的长度的突伸长度。
29.一种用于将盖密封到围绕包含食物产品的包装的周边的非平面凸缘的设备,所述设备包括:
传送装置表面,所述传送装置表面被配置来推进所述包装;
底部旋转模具,所述底部旋转模具至少部分在所述传送装置表面上方伸出并且具有多个座体,每个座体具有多个支撑表面,所述多个支撑表面被配置来支撑所述非平面凸缘的至少一部分;以及
至少一个顶部密封构件,所述至少一个顶部密封构件具有至少一个密封表面,所述至少一个密封表面绕旋转轴旋转并且所述密封表面相对于所述旋转轴径向变化或者所述密封表面的所述旋转轴进行往复运动,以将所述盖密封到所述凸缘。
30.如权利要求29所述的设备,其中所述至少一个顶部密封构件包括两个顶部密封构件,每个顶部密封构件被配置来绕往复运动的旋转轴旋转以将所述盖密封到所述凸缘。
31.如权利要求29所述的设备,其中所述至少一个顶部密封构件包括第一顶部密封构件和第二顶部密封构件,所述第一顶部密封构件被配置来将所述盖的一个部分密封到所述凸缘的一个部分,所述第二顶部密封构件被配置来将所述盖的另一部分密封到所述凸缘的另一部分。
32.如权利要求29所述的设备,其中所述顶部密封构件包括多个密封表面并且被配置来绕一个旋转轴旋转并且接触所述座体的所述支撑表面来将所述盖密封到所述包装。

至少一个顶部密封构件,所述至少一个顶部密封构件具有至少一个密封表面,所述至少一个密封表面绕旋转轴旋转并且所述密封表面相对于所述旋转轴径向变化或者所述密封表面的所述旋转轴进行往复运动,以使所述盖压抵所述凸缘。
34.如权利要求33所述的设备,其中所述顶部密封构件包括多个密封表面并且被配置来绕一个旋转轴旋转并且接触所述座体的所述支撑表面以将所述盖密封到所述包装。
35.如权利要求29-34中的任一项所述的设备,其中所述至少一个密封表面是非平面的。
36.如权利要求29-34中的任一项所述的设备,其中所述至少一个密封表面由弹性材料制成。
37.如权利要求29-34中的任一项所述的设备,进一步包括这样的装置,所述装置被配置来从供应源传输所述盖并且将所述盖施加到所述包装的所述凸缘上。
38.如权利要求37所述的设备,其中所述装置包括真空源,所述真空源被配置来抬起和移动所述包装。
