技术领域
本发明涉及一种用于排气系统组件的外壳,其包括第一和第二半壳以及用于一管道的至少一个开口,所述第一和第二半壳至少分多个部分通过边缘区段彼此相连,而所述管道将被连接至所述外壳。
背景技术
这种类型的外壳是实用的,并被用于排气系统的各种组件,譬如说,例如用于催化转化器、柴油机颗粒过滤器,尤其是用于消声器。
图1示出了一个消声器1作为示例,其具有最初提到的那类现有技术的外壳10。该外壳10包括第一半壳12以及置于其上的第二半壳(该图中未示出)。外壳10内部布置有内管14,该内管在某些应用中由绝缘垫16围绕,而且该内管适于部分插入到废气传送管道中。所述废气传送管道通过开口18连接至外壳10,开口18在外壳10中被布置在端面S的区域中。
所述两个半壳具有两个纵向边缘区段20,这两个纵向边缘区段20例如通过卷边或焊接彼此连接。所述两个半壳的这种连接是由机器沿着两个边缘区段20的纵向边缘制成的。边缘区段20在其整个长度上具有约8-10mm的基本均匀的宽度(对于焊接式外壳而言)。对于接缝式外壳,所述边缘区段在大多数情况下被制造得更宽。
所述现有技术的外壳10的一个缺点在于,在开口18的这一区域中,外壳10的水平方向(即沿着所述边缘区段20的方向)的刚性明显大于竖直方向(垂直于边缘区段20所处平面的方向)的刚性。这导致了在这一区域中的刚性突变,而这一旦暴露在弯曲应力下,就会引起疲劳强度受限,从而引起外壳的寿命减少。
此外,所述两个半壳沿着外壳10的纵向侧面L的连接只能由机器无任何困难地生产直到各自的点P为止。这意味着,在根据现有技术的外壳10中,边缘区段20端面上的两个边缘X,由于使用机器时很难被接近,因此可能必须由人工进行重焊接,以便完全封闭所述外壳10。这种制造步骤相对较为复杂,因而费用昂贵。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目标是要提供一种用于排气系统组件的外壳,在该外壳中,避免了在用于安装排气管的开口的区域中刚性产生任何突变,而且该外壳易于生产。
根据本发明,为了实现这一目的,在最初提到的那类外壳中,提供了边缘区段,在开口处伸出,而且该边缘区段的宽度朝开口的方向减小。这样,水平方向的刚性就可以被明显减少,从而可接近竖直方向的刚性。这导致外壳的疲劳强度在开口这一区域中增加约30%,因此显著延长了寿命,使该寿命可与在开口区域中包括附加支柱的外壳的寿命相比。此外,在根据本发明的这种设计中,大多数情况下可省去手工重焊工序。
具体而言,本发明提供了一种用于排气系统组件的外壳,该外壳包括安装到其上的至少一个管道,第一半壳和第二半壳,以及用于管道的至少一个开口,所述第一半壳和第二半壳至少分多个部分通过边缘区段彼此连接,所述至少一个管道通过焊缝焊接至所述外壳,其中:所述边缘区段在所述开口处伸出、而所述边缘区段的宽度朝所述开口的方向减小,以及所述边缘区段在所述开口这一区域中的宽度最大等于所述焊缝的高度。
为了保证在半壳同时可靠地连接在一起时,疲劳强度得到改善,边缘区段在开口这一区域中的宽度可等于边缘区段正常宽度的约一半;有利地,该宽度等于正常宽度的约三分之一。
该外壳具有至少一个安装至其上的管道,该管道通过一条焊缝焊接至外壳,边缘区段在开口这一区域中的宽度最大等于焊缝的高度。这种结构不仅使疲劳强度得到改善(如上文已经描述的),而且还可以省去在边缘区段的端面上对边缘进行复杂的、昂贵的手工重焊。这意味着,半壳专门由焊缝在外壳的端面上彼此连接,这在任何情况下对于安装废气传送管道都是必须的,因此其以一种简单的、节约成本和节省时间的方式实现了外壳的完全封闭。此外,根据本发明的外壳对焊缝这一区域中的裂纹形成较不敏感。
如果边缘区段包括一个与管道的中心轴线成约30度的角,那么就可获得特别有利的水平-纵向刚度比,该特别有利的水平-纵向刚度比会导致外壳在开口这一区域中获得最佳疲劳强度。

具体实施方式
图2示出了消声器1的根据本发明的外壳10,该外壳替换了图1中所示的根据现有技术的外壳10。就此而论,相同的组件具备相同的附图标记,而仅在下文论述根据本发明的外壳10与现有技术的外壳的多个区别。从图2中可以看出,对于外壳10而言,边缘区段20在开口18处伸出,而且边缘区段20的宽度朝开口18的方向减小。在这一区域中,端面S上边缘区段20的宽度被选择为等于边缘区段正常宽度的约一半,或者更好地,等于约三分之一,也就是说,等于约2-4mm。通过以这种方式设计边缘区段20,能够明显降低水平方向的刚性,这导致外壳10在开口18这一区域中的疲劳强度增加约30%。
如果废气传送管道22被安装到外壳10,并通过焊缝24焊接至该外壳10(图3),根据本发明的外壳10的进一步的优点将变得显而易见。这里,焊缝24,与开口18一样,基本上具有管道横截面的形状。由于边缘区段20的宽度在管道22所插入的开口18这一区域中减小,两个边缘区段20的整个端面区域X能够通过焊缝24同时封闭,而不必在外壳10的端面区域S中对外壳10另行重焊。
由于边缘区段20在开口18这一区域中包括一个与管道22的中心轴线成约30度的角α,因而可以获得外壳10的最佳疲劳强度。
图5示出了根据本发明的外壳30的第二实施例,其提供了两个分离的流动路径32,且被用作例如一个中心消声器的外壳。
外壳30还由第一半壳(未示出)和布置在其上的第二半壳34构成,其纵向边缘区段36彼此连接,如上文已经参照图1-3所描述的。
与图4示出的根据现有技术的中心消声器的外壳30进行比较将显示,根据本发明的外壳30中的边缘区段36(图5)仍伸出两个开口38,而且它们的宽度朝开口38的方向减小。而且,在本发明的第二实施例中,边缘区段36包括的与适于插入各自开口38中的管道的中心轴线所成的角等于约30度。这样,同样在外壳30中,相对现有技术显著地改善了疲劳强度。

Claims (4)

1.一种用于排气系统组件的外壳,包括安装到其上的至少一个管道(22),第一半壳(12)和第二半壳(34),以及用于管道(22)的至少一个开口(18、38),所述第一半壳(12)和第二半壳(34)至少分多个部分通过边缘区段(20、36)彼此连接,所述至少一个管道(22)通过焊缝(24)焊接至所述外壳(10、30),其特征在于:所述边缘区段(20、36)在所述开口(18、38)处伸出、而所述边缘区段(20、36)的宽度朝所述开口(18、38)的方向减小,以及所述边缘区段(20、36)在所述开口(18、38)这一区域中的宽度最大等于所述焊缝(24)的高度。
2.根据权利要求1所述的外壳,其特征在于所述边缘区段(20、36)在所述开口(18、38)这一区域中的宽度等于所述边缘区段(20、36)正常宽度的约一半。
3.根据权利要求1所述的外壳,其特征在于所述边缘区段(20、36)在所述开口(18、38)这一区域中的宽度等于所述边缘区段(20、36)正常宽度的约三分之一。
4.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的外壳,其特征在于所述边缘区段(20、36)包括一个与所述管道(22)的中心轴线成约30度的角。
