Abstract

背景技术
对个体所经历的事件、个人参数和环境参数进行检索的能力体现在许多应用中。例如,记忆受损的人,像Alzheimer疾病患者,以及他/她的护理者可恢复个人的部分日常活动,以帮助填补个人记忆中的空白(如确定个人把房钥匙放到何处,或识别与该个人交流的人,等等)。在另一个应用中,与创伤事件相关联的事件和参数,像老年人由摔跤所致受伤等,可由内科医师来恢复,这样以便更好的了解该损伤的起因和程度。同样的,对儿童一整天所经历的事件和参数进行检索可帮助父母或教师诊断儿童的行为问题。
然而,现有用于监控这样事件和参数的方法并非适合不醒目和可佩戴设备的应用。这样的方法包括房间或定义区域内的观测照相机和麦克风,以及体积庞大的摄影机和其它的监控设备,由于这样设备的大小、存储限制、功率限制,以及其它限制而不能现实的用于常时间舒适的个人使用(如全天候使用)。
发明内容
这里描述并要求的实施例解决了上述问题,这是通过提供小型可佩戴检索设备获取由检测捕获条件(如动作、温度或光线强度的变化)以及其后如由加速度计所检测到的一段相对稳定的期间的组合触发的捕获图像实现的,。通过在检测到的稳定条件之前触发检测到的捕获条件组合,我们更期待捕获有趣事件环境的更清晰图像。检索设备的尺寸较小,这就可以将该设备集成到普通便携式消费者产品中,这诸如MP3播放器、钱包、衣服、帽子、背包、项链、眼镜、手表、手镯、衣领以及其它人们可佩戴的产品。
在某些实施例中,提供的制造商品是计算机程序产品。其中一个计算机程序产品的实施例提供计算机系统可读并对计算机程序进行编码的计算机程序存储媒体。另一个计算机程序产品的实施例可通过对系统进行计算并对计算机程序进行编码而在具体体现在载波中的计算机数据信号中提供。

在另一个实施例中,提供的便携式检索设备是由佩戴者携带的。该便携式检索设备包括照相机和至少一个可与该照相机相连的加速度计。该加速度计基于捕获条件的检测以及其后由至少一个加速度计的稳定条件的检测而触发照相机的图像捕获。

具体实施方式
图1说明人们可佩戴的检索设备的一个示例。所示佩带者100在项链上佩戴有检索设备102。然而,我们应当知道佩带者不一定要是人类,动物、交通工具,以及其它物体也佩戴检索设备,以选择性的记录被监控的环境条件。
在框104中示出检索设备102的分解图。照相机106可包括鱼眼镜头、广角镜,或者任何其它类型的镜头,该照相机106定位在检索设备102的中心,但是照相机106也可定位在检索设备102的其它部位。
所示4个发光二极管(LED)位于检索设备102的面板上。LED 108发信号检测声音捕获条件,这诸如检测到的声音强度增长到超过给定阈值,或者在给定周期内平均声音强度的质的变化。LED 110发信号检测动作捕获条件,这诸如检测到的角度改变超过阈值(如20℃)。LED 112发信号检测光强度捕获条件,这诸如在给定周期内平均光强度的质的变化,或者检测到的光强度增长到超过给定的阈值。LED 114发信号检测温度捕获条件,这诸如检测到的环境温度增长到超过给定的阈值,或者在给定的周期内环境温度水平有质的变化。除了上述列举的之外,也可选择性的使用其它的捕获条件。
所示检索设备102中的串行端口116用于将由检索设备102所监控的数据下载到计算机系统。来自检索设备102中的不同被记录数据被保存到检索设备102中的存储器中。这样的数据也可通过串行端口116被下载到更多的计算机系统中,例如台式计算机,用于后续分析(如使用微软EXCEL电子数据表应用程序或其它的分析工具)。国际互联网设置,诸如条件参数、时间设置等也可通过串行端口上载到检索设备102中。
无线收发器(未示出)与升起软线118的天线连接在一起。无线收发器可用于上载和下载数据,并与无线网络协议相互作用,这诸如Wi-Fi和蓝牙技术,并用于检测射频信号。
图2说明范例检索设备的内部平面图200和外部透视图202。这里说明了范例检索设备的特定构件;然而,应当知道的是在检索设备的其它实施例中也可使用其它的构件。微控制器(未示出)被安装于印制电路(PC)板204的下侧。在一个实施例中,使用微芯片20Mhz PIC16F876微控制器。照相机206和镜头208可用于与检索设备的PC板204进行连接。在一个实施例中,使用具有Edmunds光学附加f2、f2.2mm镜头的50mm×30mm×14mm Sipix急速拍摄300千像素的照相机模块。在另一种配置里,飞利浦Key008照相机使用Edmunds光学的附加2.9mm镜头。快门的连接以及照相机的模式控制由舌簧继电器提供,但是也可使用其它的开关元件,如光学MOSFET晶体管。
加速度计210被安装于PC板204上。在阐明的实施例中,使用模拟设备(Analog Device)的信号双轴+/-10g ADXL210加速度计。在另一个实施例中,可使用多个多轴或单轴加速度计。例如,单个单轴加速度计可被配置来检测三个轴(X,Y,Z)中每个的加速情况。在另一个实施例中,该3个轴被指定为横摇、纵摇和平摇(roll,pitch and yaw),且使用陀螺仪来检测平摇(角加速度)。

环境温度传感器(未示出)被安装于PC板204上。在一个实施例中,使用国家半导体公司的LM75传感器来检测检索设备所处的环境光强度及其变化。环境光强度的变化代表这样的范例捕获条件,其可表明如佩带者从里面到外面的移动。
串行总线端口214被安装于PC板204上。在一个实施例中,使用通用串行总线接口,但是也可使用诸如RS-232接口或IRDA接口或者任何其它数据端口这样的其它串行端口。串行总线端口(或其它接口)可用于向检索设备上载和从检索设备下载数据。LED 216显示不同捕获事件的检测,如关于图1讨论的。
图3说明范例检索设备中构件300的原理图。微处理器302使用快门控制线306和模式控制线308连接,以控制照相机304。微控制器302在快门控制线306上所发出的信号触发照相机304中的图像捕获。微控制器302在模式控制线308上所发出的信号将照相机设置为高分辨率模式、低分辨率模式,或者触发擦除捕获图像。诸如普通镜头、广角镜,或者鱼眼镜这样的镜头310与照相机304相连。
诸如NiMH AA 1.5伏特电池这样的电池312为包括照相机304在内的所述检索设备提供能源。升压电路314将由电池312提供的电压增加到3.7伏特,为微控制器302和PC板上的其它构件提供能量。
I2C总线316将存储区318连接到微控制器302。存储区318可用于保存已记入日志的传感器数据和已经捕获的图像及声音。在一个实施例中,使用两个128千字节闪速存储器芯片(微芯片24LC512)。在另一个实施例中,诸如SD或MMC卡这样较大的和可移除存储器模块可彼此连接,这就可允许直到1G字节的存储容量。实时时钟芯片320(Dallas/Maxim)以及环境温度传感器322(国家半导体LM75)也通过I2C总线316与微控制器302相连。
至少一个加速度计324与微控制器302相连,以检测位置和运动变化。在所述实施例中,使用3个单轴加速度计326,每个加速度计对应每个轴(X、Y和Z)。诸如USB或RS-232接口这样的串行总线接口328与微控制器302相连,以允许上载和下载数据。声音记录电路330也与微控制器302相连,以记录环境声音。在一个实施例中,声音记录电路330可连续记录一段时间,尽管在其它实施例中,声音记录电路330被触发,通过对检测捕获条件作出响应而记录。数字化光强传感器332与微控制器302相连,以检测光强捕获条件。RF收发器334和天线336与微控制器相连,以提供或检测Wi-Fi信号通信,检测RFID应答器,和/或检测RF信号。在一个实施例中,使用了433MHz的收发器。在另一个实施例中,使用2.4G的无线电接收器来检测无线网络。若检索设备被带入具有无线通信能力的计算机附近,则检索设备可存取并向计算机传递图像、声音,以及其它传感器数据(如使用蓝牙或Wi-Fi)。这样,可使用远程计算机系统来提供设备设置,这诸如照相机设置、传感器设置、时间设置等等。
另一个用户接口模式可用在对开关、按钮等而言不具有能力或具有有限能力的检索设备中。在不需要开关的情况下,为允许已捕获和已记入日志的数据传送到计算机系统,计算机可被设置在预定的位置上(如面朝下在桌面上)。一接通电源,一个或多个检测预定位置的加速度计就可触发数据通过无线网络链接而自动下载到计算机,而不需要用户参与。
其它可用于监控传感器数据并将该传感器数据记入日志的范例输入构件包括,但不局限于,全球定位系统(GPS)接收器(如Garmin Geko的GPS收发器,其具有10m的分辨力,并能检测地理位置、海拔和罗盘方向)、心率监控器(如Polar监控器)、摄影机、用于检测旋转条件的陀螺仪(如模拟设备公司的ADXRS陀螺仪)、化学传感器(如Figaro一氧化碳传感器或烟感探测器)、基于环境光变化而提供原始光学运动检测的反偏压LED,以及用于检测直到2.5m的人的被动红外辐射探测器(如Seiko被动红外温度探测器)。
其它的范例捕获条件可通过改变声音强度、光强度、动作(如由加速度计或陀螺仪检测到的)、心率、环境温度或佩带者的体温、本地环境(如空气)的化学成分、Wi-Fi信号的检测、RFID应答器,或者实时时钟周期的终止而满足。
这些构件的不同组合可用来基于潜在有趣条件的检测而选择性的捕获环境声音和图像,其可由捕获条件的检测来标记。通过这种方式,选择性的图像和声音捕获就通过避免连续捕获非有趣条件而更有效的利用了存储资源。
图4说明选择性图像捕获过程的范例操作400。监控操作402使用至少一个加速度计来监控照相机的动作。检测操作404检测照相机所处环境条件,该环境条件被指定为“捕获条件”。捕获条件表明已经出现了先前与潜在有趣的环境事件相关联的事件。例如,若从一个房间到另一个房间的运动被认为是有趣环境事件,则环境光强的变化可被认为是表明佩带者已经移动到不同的房间。
在一个实施例中,范例检测操作包括下面的步骤,这是用伪代码来说明的:
Detect_light_level:
(1)使用TCS230在当前监控间隔中读取周边光强度
(2)将所读取的当前光强度和从之前监控间隔(例如,1秒钟之前)读取的光强度比较
(3)如果当前读取<之前读取的50%或者当前>之前读取的200%,则显示捕获条件
(4)到Dectce_light_level
检测捕获条件的目的是“预先准备好”(“prime”)图像捕获的触发。然而,由于检索设备是可佩戴设备,其易受抖动的影响,所以该图像捕获本身被延迟了(如被管理),直到稳定条件由加速度计检测到。因此,延迟操作406延迟触发操作408,直到稳定条件由一个或多个加速度计检测到。通过这种方式,我们期待捕获图像的质量(如清晰度)优于未管理图像捕获的图像。
当照相机中的一个或多个加速度计检测到预定范围内或在预定阈值处或在预定阈值之下的运动时,就检测到稳定条件。例如,范例检索设备可被设置用来检测当所有的加速度计在其各个轴上均未检测到任何运动时的稳定条件。然而,这个设置可严重的限制在另外可接受的照相机运动期间图像捕获的可能性,这诸如当佩带者静止站在附近的时候。因此,稳定条件可被设置为小于任何给定加速度计在测量阶段(如1秒)内输出的角度阈值度改变(如20℃)。
在一个实施例中,范例延迟操作包括下面的步骤,这是用伪代码来说明的:
Capture_image:
(5)在当前监控间隔中读取加速度计的倾角
(6)将倾角与来自之前的监控间隔(例如,1秒中之前)的倾角比较
(7)如果任何倾角相差超过20度,到Capture_image
(8)触发照相机中的图像捕获
(9)返回
在检测到稳定条件之后,触发检测408触发通过照相机模块的图像捕获。在另一个实施例中,其它的环境状态也可被捕获,这包括不限制避免在给定时间内的声音记录,GPS读取数据、实时时钟读取数据等等。捕获事件的目的是当环境快照接近捕获条件的时间时,确立环境的快照。之后,该捕获数据可被下载到计算机系统以促进与潜在相关事件相关联的环境条件的重建。
在另一个实施例中,图像捕获(包括视频捕获)可连续出现或周期性出现,即使在缺少先前捕获条件时也是这样的。例如,检索设备检测到稳定条件并触发到存储器的图像捕获。之后,由于检测了时间上接近的捕获条件,所以该捕获条件被保持为与后续捕获条件相关联。若没有检测到时间上接近的捕获条件,则该捕获图像可被从存储器中删除,以管理存储空间。通过这种方式,现有刚好在捕获事件之前的环境条件可被捕获并被有效的记录。类似的算法也可应用到声音记录以及其它的敏感数据上。
图5说明相对于图像捕获事件的范例传感器读取数据500。数据502表明随着时间的推移,加速度计关于X轴的读取数据。数据504表明随着时间的推移,加速度计关于Y轴的读取数据。(图表中加速度计的读取数据对角度做出响应,例如,在一个实施例中,具有振幅0的加速度计信号代表0度,具有振幅90的加速度计信号代表90度,等等)。数据506表示环境光强传感器的读取数据。数据508表示由捕获条件的检测触发的图像捕获,其后是稳定条件的检测。
如在时间510处所示,已经基于光强数据506的显著变化而检测到了捕获条件,其后是稳定条件的检测,这由数据502和504来表示。相反,在时间512处,光强数据506的显著变化代表捕获条件,但是图像捕获在时间514之前被延迟了,这时稳定条件关于数据502和504被检测到。通过以这样的方式来管理捕获,基于检测与稳定周期结合的潜在有趣的事件而选择性的捕获了图像。
图6说明通过普通镜头捕获的图像600、通过鱼眼镜头捕获的图像602,以及鱼眼图像的纠正版本604。使用可商用的图像编辑软件,通过鱼眼镜头捕获的图像可被纠正,以移除由鱼眼镜头引入的径向畸变。将鱼眼图像捕获与纠正软件相结合允许佩带者捕获图像中环境的最大量,并随后移除径向畸变以获取相对正常的图像。这样,鱼眼镜头的使用尤其适合捕获具有与环境相比相对随机排列图像的检索设备。
应当认识到的是多种数据可被记入日志并被下载到计算机系统中,用于后处理和/或分析,这是为了重建佩带者最近所经历的事件。检索设备的范例输出可包括,但不局限于连续声音日志;声音快照序列;图像快照序列;GPS位置、海拔以及方向读取数据的序列;动作日志;环境温度日志;心率日志;RFID检测日志;以及无线网络方向日志。
进一步,在要促进存储器检索的应用中,可使用被称作“快速序列可视化表达”或RSVP的技术。RSVP代表翻书的电子等效物,这是为了评定其内容,如在Oscar de Bruijin和Robert Spence在2000年5月所著的“快速序列可视化表达:信息表达内的时空权衡”中阐述。
(http://www.iis.ee.ic.ac.uk/~o.debruijn/avi2000.pdf)使用这个技术,用户接口,诸如检索设备或捕获数据正被下载到的客户计算机系统,可快速的显示序列中被捕获的图像,这是在不同因素的直接用户控制下的,这包括,但不局限于速度、方向,以及同时可视图像的数量。这样的显示可与由检索设备或其它已记入日志的数据捕获的时间同步声音相组合。
由于高的电池消耗,制造商当前还没有将GPS特征置于小型便携式数码照相机中。ADXL210加速度计工作时使用约合GPS收发器1/130的能量(通常是0.6毫安),所以该ADXL210加速度计可用作高效的能量管理构件。在一个实施例中,加速度计可用作GPS接收器的能量管理构件。GPS接收器集成通常使用较大电流(如80毫安)的电路,为系统提供能量的电池可很容易的消耗殆尽。通过周期性的(如每秒等)对由加速度计读取数据的动作进行采样,若没有动作时,GPS可被关闭,这是因为没有出现GPS位置的变化。当动作被低能量加速度计检测到时,GPS系统可被重新打开。也可使用类似的能量管理机制来关闭照相机,这也具有高的电流消耗。其它的敏感输入,诸如光强传感器,可用于节省能量。例如,在完全黑暗的情况下,可以不对照相机供电。
这里说明本发明的实施例被实现为一个或多个计算机系统中的逻辑步骤。本发明的逻辑操作被实现为(1)在一个或多个计算机系统中执行的处理器实现步骤序列以及(2)在一个或多个计算机系统内互联的机器模块。该实现是选择性的,其依靠实现本发明的计算机系统的性能需求。因此,实现这里说明的本发明实施例的逻辑操作被分别称作操作、步骤、对象,或者模块。
上述说明书、例子和数据提供本发明范例实施例结构和使用的完整说明。由于在不背离本发明主旨和范围的前提下,我们可提出本发明的许多实施例,所以本发明要遵循附加的权利要求书。

Claims (27)

1、配置成由佩带者携带的便携式检索设备,所述便携式检索设备包含:
照相机;
环境传感器,所述环境传感器监控所述佩带者周围的环境条件,以检测捕获条件;
至少一个可与所述照相机相连的加速度计,所述加速度计基于捕获条件的检测及其后由所述至少一个加速度计的稳定条件的检测而触发所述照相机的图像捕获;
其中所述环境传感器包括检测环境光的光强传感器,所述捕获条件的检测包含环境光变化的检测,并且所述图像捕获的触发在所述捕获条件的检测之后被延迟了至少一个预定延迟周期。
2、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,所述至少一个加速度计既检测到捕获条件,又检测到稳定条件。
3、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,进一步包含:
声音记录电路,其记录环境声音,其对所述捕获条件的检测做出响应。
4、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,所述照相机包括广角镜。
5、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,所述照相机包括鱼眼镜。
6、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,其中所述环境传感器包括记录环境声音的声音记录电路,所述捕获条件的检测包含环境声音变化的检测。
7、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,其中所述环境传感器包括监控环境温度的环境温度传感器,所述捕获条件的检测包含环境温度变化的检测。
8、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,所述捕获条件的检测包含所述佩带者动作变化的检测。
9、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,其中所述环境传感器包括监控所述佩带者心率的心率监控器,所述捕获条件的检测包含所述佩带者心率变化的检测。
10、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,所述稳定条件的检测包含来自所述至少一个加速度计的信号检测,其表示所述照相机加速度在定义的阈值下。
11、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,所述至少一个加速度计包含:
多个加速度计,每个加速度计被定位以检测沿不同轴的加速度,其中所述稳定条件的检测包含检测来自每个加速度计的信号,其表示所述照相机加速度在每个轴内的定义阈值下。
12、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,进一步包含:
陀螺仪,其中所述稳定条件的检测包含检测来自所述陀螺仪的信号,其表示所述照相机的平摇运动在定义阈值下。
13、如权利要求1所述的便携式检索设备,其特征在于,其中所述环境传感器包括被动红外辐射探测器,所述捕获条件的检测包含检测来自被动红外线探测器的信号变化,其是由在所述检索设备附近的人的体温所触发的。
14、一种方法,包含:
沿着使用加速度计的至少一根轴线来监控照相机的加速;
检测所述照相机所处的捕获条件,其中检测所述捕获条件包含:用环境传感器来监控所述佩戴者周围的环境条件,以检测所述捕获条件;
沿着所述至少一根轴线来检测所述至少一个加速度计的稳定条件,对检测所述捕获条件的操作做出响应;以及
基于所述捕获条件的检测及其后所述稳定条件的检测,触发所述照相机的图像捕获;
其中检测所述捕获条件包含:
检测环境光的变化,且所述图像的捕获在所述捕获条件的检测之后被延迟至少预定的延迟周期。
15、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,所述至少一个加速度计既检测到所述捕获条件,又检测到所述稳定条件。
16、如权利要求14所述的方法,进一步包含:
通过响应所述捕获条件的检测,记录环境声音。
17、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,所述照相机包括广角镜。
18、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,所述照相机包括鱼眼镜。
19、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,检测所述捕获条件包含:
检测环境声音的变化。
20、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,检测所述捕获条件包含:
检测环境温度的变化。
21、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,检测所述捕获条件包含:
检测所述佩带者动作的变化。
22、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,检测所述捕获条件包含:
检测所述佩带者心率的变化。
23、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,所述稳定条件包含:
检测来自所述至少一个加速度计的信号,其表示所述照相机的加速度在定义的阈值下。
24、如权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,检测所述稳定条件包含:
检测来自陀螺仪的信号,其表示所述照相机的平摇运动在定义的阈值下。
25、如权利要求14所述的方法,进一步包含:
检查多个已捕获图像从所述便携式检索设备内下载的序列。
26、一计算机系统,所述计算机系统包含:
用于沿着使用加速度计的至少一根轴线来监控照相机的加速度的装置;
用于检测所述照相机所处的捕获条件的装置,其中用于检测所述捕获条件的装置包含用于用环境传感器来监控所述佩戴者周围的环境条件,以检测所述捕获条件的装置;
用于沿着所述至少一根轴线来检测所述至少一个加速度计的稳定条件,对检测所述捕获条件的操作做出响应的装置;以及
用于基于所述捕获条件的检测及其后所述稳定条件的检测,触发所述照相机的图像捕获的装置;
其中用于检测所述捕获条件的装置包含:
用于检测环境光的变化的装置,其中所述图像的捕获在所述捕获条件的检测之后被延迟至少预定的延迟周期。
27、配置成由佩带者携带的数字媒体播放器包含:
照相机;环境传感器,所述环境传感器监控所述佩带者周围的环境条件,以检测捕获条件;
至少一个可与所述照相机相连的加速度计,所述加速度计基于捕获条件的检测及其后由所述至少一个加速度计的稳定条件的检测而触发所述照相机图像的捕获;
其中所述环境传感器包括检测环境光的光强传感器,所述捕获条件的检测包含环境光变化的检测和所述图像捕获的触发在所述捕获条件的检测之后被延迟了至少一个预定延迟周期。
