The present invention relates to a watertight watch case of shape comprising a middle-bezel, a crystal including a heel, engaged in. Said car rure-bezel, is applied against an inner shoulder thereof by the axial pressure exerted on it, at least indirectly, by the bottom,
which is also engaged in said caseband-bezel and is assembled to the latter by an open locking circle mounted so as to rotate in a circular groove opening radially outwards, which said base presents, this circle having at least two outer lugs engaging, during the rotation of said circle, in corresponding housings that the caseband-bezel presents.
Constructions are known in which a watch case back or case back is assembled to the case body by means of a circle carried by the case back and having projections engaging in recesses of the case body.
In some of these constructions, the circle does not have to turn, being shaped so as to be able to deform radially, which allows said protrusions to slip out in order to enter said housings or to extract therefrom.
In other solutions, the engagement or disengagement of said projections is effected by a rotation of the assembly ring. This rotation is limited either by the tube of the winder, when the latter passes through a clearance or an interruption of said circle, or by the ends of the housings in which the projections of the circle are engaged.
The stop of the circle against the tube of the jig is obviously an unfavorable solution, because of the undesirable stresses which it produces on. this tube.
Likewise, when the rotation of the circle is lit by the stop of the projections against the ends of the housings of the box body in which the projections are engaged, these housings must have stop surfaces,
which poses manufacturing problems. The aim of the present invention is to remedy this drawback by providing a construction in which the rotary movements of the assembly circle are limited without the winding tube playing a role for this purpose and without the housing of the case body. have to be specially arranged.
This watch case is characterized by the fact that the outer periphery of the locking circle is such that, in an angular position, it can be introduced into the opening of the caseband-bezel, whereas, in u = another angular position , on the one hand, dry ears penetrate into said housings and, on the other hand, it abuts against the inner face of the caseband-bezel, so that this second locking position is thus positively determined.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a bottom plan view, in section at the level of line 1-1 of FIG. 2, a waterproof watch.
Fig. 2 is a section through this watch, taken along line 11-11 of FIG. 1, on a larger scale.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of a detail, on a smaller scale, and FIG. 4 is an elevational view of this detail. The watch case shown, of generally square shape, comprises a caseband-bezel 1, a crystal 2 whose heel, designated by 2a, is engaged in said caseband-bezel 1 and a bottom-cap 3 also engaged in said caseband - bezel 1 and supported by a rim 3a,
on the heel 2a of the ice by means of a seal 4 made of plastic. The movement, designated by 5, has been shown schematically provided with its dial 6. The heel 2a of the crystal 2, the re edge 3a of the base-cap 3, as well as the opening of the caseband-bezel 1, designated by 7, in which they are engaged, are square in shape, while the bottom itself is circular.
The bottom-cap 3 is held in place in the bezel-case 1 by a locking circle 8, having the general shape of a crown segment, engaged in a circular groove 9, opening radially outwardly, provided in the base-cap 3. In order to allow it to be wound in the groove 9, the locking ring 8 is open at 10 (fig. 3).
The outer periphery of the locking circle 8 is generally circular in shape and has four projections 8a, arranged at 90o from each other, the ends of which are chamfered at 11.
These projections are intended to engage in arcuate housings 12 provided for this purpose in the caseband - bezel 1, during a rotational movement causing the circle 8 to pass from an angular position, in which it can be introduced freely into the opening 7, at an angular locking position, shown in the sin, in which the ears 8a are engaged in the housings 12.
Thanks to the chamfers II cooperating with the caseband-bezel 1, the circle 8 exerts an axial force on the base 3 by which the sealing gasket 4 is compressed against the heel 2a of the crystal resting on an internal shoulder 1a of the caseband - bezel 1.
It should be noted that the ears 8a of the circle 8 are chamfered on their two faces ide so that the circle can be used indifferently in the position in which i'1 is shown in the drawing or in an upside-down position with respect to it. .
The circle 8 has four holes 13 allowing the introduction of a tool such as tweezers, for example, or the nipples of an ad hoc wrench, in order to rotate it.
The circle 8 also has four external stop projections 8b, arranged at 90 from each other. of the tines to abut against the wall of the opening 7 of the middle-bezel 1 when the circle is brought into its locking position so that this position is positively determined. Likewise, when the box is open, the projections 8b also abut against the middle-bezel 1 when the circle 8 reaches its unlocked position.
It should be noted that the winding tube, designated by 14, fixed to the bottom-cap 3, passes through the opening 10 of the circle 8, the length of this opening being sufficient to allow rotational movements of said circle.
When the box is fitted, a protective frame or bottom bezel 15 (fig. 2), the outer periphery of which is in the shape of the box, is mounted in a slotted way on the bottom - cap 3 and hides the locking ring 8.
As a variant, the circle 8 could have only two locking ears 8a or even a different number of these ears, depending on the shape of the box. Indeed, the present arrangement can also be applied to rectangular, triangular, oval or any other shape boxes, the locking circle having to be con formed accordingly.
