Description

Many solutions have already been proposed for sealingly fixing a mineral glass watch crystal. In particular, glasses are known which are fixed by means of an O-ring type seal which engages in a peripheral groove of the crystal and a groove in the caseband-bezel. In other constructions, the glass is maintained by means of a seal having a V-shaped or L-shaped section. These solutions are very satisfactory but require delicate, precise and expensive machining, which is difficult to achieve in shaped boxes.
It has also been proposed to use a heel glass by which the glass is held axially between a bearing surface of the carrurelunette and a support part with the interposition of a seal. In one of the proposed solutions, a metal circle is used as a support piece in a fixed position in the box. The thickness of the heel of the ice as well as the thickness and the characteristics of the lining must be absolutely constant because the support part does not give any possibility of taking up play. In another solution, an adjustment is possible but at the price costly machining because this solution uses a ring screwed inside the caseband. Once the box is closed, there is no longer any possibility of catching up with any game.
The present invention provides a simple, effective and inexpensive solution making it possible to ensure good sealing of the lens at all times and leaving a wide tolerance with regard to the thickness of the heel of the lens and of the seal.
The timepiece according to the invention comprises a case formed of a caseback, a caseband-bezel and a mineral glass crystal provided with a heel by which it is held axially between a bearing surface of the caseband. bezel, with the interposition of a sealing gasket and at least one support part. this timepiece being characterized by the fact that the support piece is an annular piece having axial elasticity.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 represents a general plan view of a watch with a rectangular bezel.
Fig. 2 shows a sectional view along II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a sectional view along 111-111 of FIG 1.
The watch shown in the drawing, more precisely the watch case shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, comprises a caseband-bezel I to which is fixed a back 2 by means of a suitable device as described for example in Swiss patent No. 4209988. By this device, the back 2 is pushed axially against a lining d 'Sealing 3. The case further comprises a crystal 4 in mineral glass provided with a heel 5 by which the crystal 4 is held between a bearing 6 of the middle-bezel, bearing which constitutes the bezel proper, and a ring 7 forming flange, a seal 8 being interposed between the heel 5 of the lens and the bearing 6. The flange 7 is retained by a clip 9, that is to say a split elastic and metallic ring, retained in a bleeding 10 of the middle-bezel.
This clip 9 is flexed axially in such a way that it axially pushes the flange against the heel of the lens, compressing the seal 8.
For assembly, we first put in place the sealing gasket 8 then we introduce the crystal 4 from the bottom, fit the flange 7, then push the clip into the opening of the caseband-bezel, the clip coming to introduce itself into the bleeding 10. The box is then closed by the bottom 2 through which the movement has been introduced beforehand. The assembly is therefore easy and does not require any special tools.
As a variant, it would also be possible to use the bottom to exert a holding pressure on the heel of the ice, with or without an intermediate piece.
It is also possible to hold the mirror directly by means of a clip, such as clip 9, with or without a flange.
This construction can of course be used for round boxes.
