Waterproof watch box. In various known boxes of the so-called sealed type, the pressure required for sealing against the glass has been achieved by means of a tension ring which is housed in a recess. of a rim of the lace and exerting a radial pressure on this rim, so that this place is kept pressed against its et-garlic (the -lace in the bezel or the middle part.
This. ring came manufacturing in the form of a drawn wire and then curved to give it its ring shape. Thus, the pressure exerted by such a split ring on the. ice is. not constant over the entire periphery = sort of the latter. On the other hand, the very small section of the ring dimensioned in this way, so that it is hidden as far as possible outside the dial, does not make it possible to obtain sufficient pressure to ensure water-tightness at all points. between the ice and. the. glasses.
To overcome this drawback, it was necessary to provide a closed ring and. cal culate its section in such a way as to ensure sufficient pressure on the crystal so that the edge (the the (crystal is strongly compressed between] the ring and the. bezel or. middle. ring avoids the tension discontinuity encountered in the split ring and, in addition, allows a decorative effect to be obtained which is added to that of the dial.
The object of the present invention is a case (the sealed watch of the type in which the pressure necessary for sealing between the] coite and the place is ensured by a tension ring, characterized in that the latter constitutes one. parts of a dial in several parts of the watch.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial sectional view thereof. Fig. 2 is a partial plan view. As can be seen in the drawing, the tension ring 1 providing the pressure necessary for, the seal between the middle part 4- and the crystal 3 constitutes part of a two-piece dial of the watch, the other part of the watch. this dial being designated by 2 and being. fixed to the movement, 5 by known means not shown in the drawing.
As it emerges. d11 drawing, in particular of the hg. 1, the tension ring 1 has a cross section of elongated shape, the radial dimension of which is the largest. On its underside is. provided a recess lb, intended to serve as a housing at the edge of the, part 2 of the dial. The upper face of the ring, on which it is possible to display hour signs, is inclined towards the inside of the watch.
Ring 1 could. present a part constituting a box flange.
It is also possible to provide an inclination of its. upper surface carrying it. the hour signs towards the outside of the watch. The hourly signals are embedded in the surface 1a, but they could. also be embossed or made up in any known way. It goes without saying that the hour signs, where part of these could also appear on the part of the dial.
