Description

The present invention relates to a wristwatch box comprising a bottom and a middle-bezel and provided with an integrated leather strap fixed to the box by means of a metal frame mounted in an annular housing of the box. , in which it is retained by part of the box.

A watch of this type is known from document US-A-2,559,238. In this watch, the frame consists of a ring of round section held between a cap bottom and a bezel. The leather of the bracelet is attached directly to the ring around which it can pivot as it would on a conventional bar. In addition, the ring is visible laterally, so that the bracelet does not really appear to be integrated into the box.

It is also known to attach a watch case to a bracelet in one piece (CH-B-536 083 and FR-A-1 598 983). In this case, the bracelet is visible around the entire periphery of the box. In addition, the leather tends to form an elbow where it leaves the box, an elbow which can cause, by fatigue, the leather to break.

The present invention aims to achieve a more complete integration of the leather strap to the box while reducing the risk of breakage of the bracelet near its attachment points.

This object is achieved by the characteristics of the box defined in the claim. The frame to which the bracelet is attached is invisible and the flexibility of the tabs allows the bracelet to take a regular curvature, without elbow.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.
  • Figure 1 shows a plan view of the complete watch.
  • Figure 2 shows a side view.
  • FIG. 3 represents a partial section along III-III of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 4 represents a partial sectional view along IV-IV of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 5 represents a plan view of the strap fixing frame.

The wristwatch shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprises a box 1 to which two strands 2 and 3 of a leather strap are attached in an integrated manner, the clasp of which has not been shown.

The box 1 comprises a middle part-bezel 4 to which a flat bottom 5 is fixed by pressure to which is welded a casing frame 6 intended to support a movement 7 surmounted by a dial 8. The casing frame 6 is provided externally at at least two opposite points of a notch 9 which hooks onto a bead 10 of the middle part-bezel 4. This middle part-bezel 4 has a part 4a forming an elevation and a notch of ice 4b intended to receive a flat glass 11 As is particularly visible in FIG. 4, the middle part-bezel 4 has an annular groove of rectangular section 12 extending over its entire periphery and opening onto the lower flat face of the middle part-bezel. The outer wall of this groove 12 however has two interruptions corresponding to the width of the bracelet strands, as can be seen in FIG. 3, right part. This same wall also has a rounded notch 13 for the passage of the stem of the time-setting crown. In the groove 12, is housed a metal frame 14, for example brass, shown alone in Figure 5. The groove 12 being completely closed by the bottom 5, the frame 14 is retained and hidden inside ia'carrure -tunette 4. At three o'clock, the frame 14 has a notch 15 in the shape of a U for the passage of the time-setting rod. The frame 14 has two narrow horizontal grooves 16 and 17 in which are embedded two flexible tabs in beryllium bronze, one of these tabs 18 being shown in Figures 3 and 5. These tabs are further welded to the frame 14. The end of the bracelet strand 3 completely surrounds the tongue 18 and the leather is bonded to this tongue. The strand 2 is fixed in the same way on and around the other tab, not shown. The total thickness of the bracelet at the point where the tabs are fitted is equal to two thicknesses of leather and the thickness of the tongue which is only 0.1 mm. The total thickness of the bracelet at this location, which determines the height of the frame 14 is therefore relatively small. It is for example of the order of 1.40 mm and has practically no influence on the total height of the box.

The frame 14 makes it possible to separately manufacture bracelets in one piece with their means of attachment to the box. By simply placing the frame 14 in its housing, the two strands of the bracelet are fixed simultaneously and correctly to the box.
