Waterproof watch case The present invention relates to a waterproof watch case in which the crystal is mounted in friction in the case body, comprising an annular gasket made of flexible, compressible and water-repellent plastic, interposed between the crystal and the side wall. the housing of the gearbox body, in which the lens is engaged, this gasket ensuring both the retention of the lens in place and the sealing of the assembly.
Watch cases of this type are known; the annular plastics material, in known embodiments, has a cross section of various shapes: rectangular or square, rectangular with a lateral face, convex or concave at rest, hexagonal, circular or other.
These cases have the drawback, particularly when they include an extra-hard mineral crystal, called sapphire, of not allowing disassembly and reassembly of the crystal without the annular retaining lining thereof, which ensures at the same time the sealing does not have to be replaced.
The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback by providing a watch case of the aforementioned type, the annular gasket of which is arranged in such a way that it ensures effective maintenance of the crystal as well as the tightness of the entire assembly. by allowing successive disassembly and reassembly thereof.
The watch case according to the invention is characterized in that the inner face of said gasket, in contact with the crystal, has parallel annular grooves.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the material of the annular seal is loaded with molybdenum disulphide, a self-lubricating material whose qualities are known per se, which further facilitates the successive disassembly and reassembly of the crystal without replacement of the packing becomes necessary.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention and of variants.
The figure is a partial axial section of a waterproof watch case.
The waterproof watch case shown is of the so-called monocoque type, that is to say one of which the caseback, designated by 1, is in one piece. A domed crystal 2, provided with an inner tension ring 3, is mounted in friction in an annular recess 4 presented by the caseback 1. A seal 5, made of flexible, compressible and water-repellent plastic, for example. the material known in the trade under the name of nylon is interposed between the rim, designated 2a, of the crystal 2 and the side wall of the recess 4 of the bottom-caseband. This lining could be glued to the back-middle part 1 by a resin such as Araldite (registered trademark) for example.
A bezel 6 mounted notch on the caseback extends to the top of the trim 5 and the mask, while preventing it from inadvertently leaving the clearance 4, which could, where appropriate, occur during a violent axial shock that the watch would undergo.
The gasket 5 thus ensures not only the sealing of the assembly between the lens and the gearbox body, but also the holding of the lens in place. The plastic material of this filling should be chosen so as to keep its elasticity and not to creep or surrender over time. This barrier is loaded with molybdenum disulphide, a self-lubricating material, which allows successive disassembly and reassembly of the lens without replacing the lining.
It should be noted that the straight section of the trim 5, which is rectangular when the mirror is fitted, as shown in the drawing, is also at rest; its lateral inner face has three parallel annular grooves

the 7 leaving between them lips 5a which deform elastically during the introduction of the ice and thus help to keep the latter in place.
These grooves are preferably obtained by a turning operation carried out in situ, that is to say the lining 5 once mounted in the caseback 1, which ensures high precision in its dimensions, which is necessary. so that both adhesion and waterproofing are ensured in a lasting way.
