Les deux pièces annulaires de la garniture 10 des fig. 4 à 6 sont en matière souple non métallique. L'une, désignée par 11, est. de section droite en forme de U, l'autre, désignée par 12, est de section droite rectangulaire, la longueur du grand côté de ce rectangle corres pondant à. l'écartement des branches du U de manière que cette pièce 12 puisse être in troduite entre ces branches;
The present invention relates to a gasket for a sealed watch case, consisting of a hollow annular body so as to form a closed and filled annular chamber. of a fluid, this chamber promoting the deformation capacity of the seal.
This lining is characterized by the fact that this body comprises at least two annular parts manufactured separately and assembled together, at least one of these parts being made of flexible and elastic material.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, four embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial section of the first embodiment, illustrating the assembly of the bottom to the middle of a watch case, FIG. 2 is a section, on an agran die scale, of the lining, the two parts being separated.
Fig. 3 is a sectional view of the trim showing the two assembled parts.
Figs. 4, 5 and 6 correspond to figs. 1, 2 and 3 respectively, but relate to the second embodiment.
Figs. 7, 8 and 9 also correspond to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 and relate to the third embodiment, and FIG. 10 is an axial section of a waterproof watch mount. In the first embodiment, the watch case comprises a middle part 1 into which a case-back 2 is screwed and in an annular groove 3 of which a gasket is disposed, the seal 4.
This lining is formed of two annular parts, one designated by 5, made of flexible and elastic material (such as synthetic resin, for example the product of the plexigum brand) and of circular cross section, and the other, designated by 6, made of metal, the cross section of which has substantially the shape of a segment of a circle having. two chamfers 7.
A groove 8, of rectangular cross section, is made in the part 5; this groove is closed by part 6 when the latter is assembled to part 5 (see fig. 3), its chamfers 7 then entering two corresponding clearances 9 made in part 5, which produces a notched assembly of these two rooms. Part 6 is made of metal; it could also be in another hard or semi-hard material, such as for example plastic or artificial glass such as the product of the Plexi glas brand.
When the gasket 4 is in place in the groove 3, it protrudes slightly from this groove, so that the base rests on it and deforms it slightly, thus compressing the air contained in the annular interior chamber formed by the groove 8. This air-filled space improves the elasticity of the seal. One could also fill the chamber 8 with another gas or even with a liquid; in the latter case, this liquid would not improve the compressibility of the seal, but only its capacity for deformation.
In the free state, the lining 4 has a circular outer section; it could also be of polygonal outer section.
The two annular pieces of the seal 10 of FIGS. 4 to 6 are made of flexible non-metallic material. One, designated by 11, is. of U-shaped cross section, the other, designated by 12, is of rectangular cross section, the length of the long side of this rectangle corresponding to. the spacing of the branches of the U so that this part 12 can be introduced between these branches;
each small side of this rectangle has a shoulder 12a which is then in the extension of one of the branches of the U. The two parts 11 and 12 once assembled, the lining 10 presents a chamber inner ring 13 playing. the same role as the chamber 8 of the seal 4.
In the third embodiment, the lining 14 is formed from two annular parts 15 and 16, both of flexible non-metallic material and of cross section in the form of a half-crown. The edges 17, respectively 18, of these half-rings have complementary profiles so that they can fit into one another and form an entire ring constituting a closed annular chamber 19.
Finally, in the fourth embodiment (fig. 10), the gasket 20, of cross section identical to that of the gasket 10 of FIGS. 4 to 6, is inserted between a winding crown 21 and the pendant 22. This trim differs from the trim 10 in that the two annular parts constituting it are assembled one inside the other and not nested axially. . This lining 20 is housed in a recess 23 of the crown 21 and is held in place by a ring 24 set in the crown.
It thus ensures the sealing of the winder.
