Musical movement The present invention relates to a musical movement, comprising a frame and the motor of which simultaneously actuates a needle drum and an actuating member intended to actuate a dancing doll carried by a control rod articulated by rap. port to the frame and can occupy a working position and a retracted position.
This movement differs from known movements of this kind, by the fact that the dancing doll comprises freely swinging legs and that the control rod passes through a guide allowing its axial and angular displacements, by the fact that said member of actuation activates the control rod in a periodic vertical reciprocating movement and that said guide is carried by a ball joint formed, on the one hand, of a bowl fitted in a support integral with the frame and , on the other hand, by a spherical portion of said guide, held elastically in said cup,
and by the fact that the doll's legs, balanced by its vertical reciprocating movements, actuate the doll in irregular angular displacements.
The attached drawing illustrates, schematically and by way of example, one embodiment of the musical movement, object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a sectional view of a cigarette box equipped with the music movement.
Fig. 2 is a front view of the movement. Fig. 3 is a plan view of a device for actuating a doll which said movement comprises.
Fig. 4 is a detail view illustrating a ball joint.
The musical movement shown is of the conventional type, comprising a res out motor 1, fixed to a base plate 2. This motor actuates a drum 3, provided with needles 4 cooperating with tuned vibrating blades 5 fixed on a block. 6 integral with the base plate. The movement also comprises a speed governor with vanes 7, mechanically connected to a toothed wheel 8, integral with the drum 3.
The latter also carries a ratchet wheel 9 with which cooperates an arm 10 integral with an axis 11 rotating freely in bearings 12 arranged in a support 13, rigidly fixed relative to the base plate 2 (FIG. 3). This arm carries, at its free end, an actuator 14 on which rests the end of a pulsating rod 15 carrying a doll 16.
This rod slides in a guide 17, provided with a spherical part 18 housed in a cup 19, of corresponding shape and carried by a support 20 fixed firmly to the base plate 2. This support has a slot 21, in which is secured by a cylindrical tail of the guide 17. This light is located in a vertical plane passing through the center of the spherical bowl and one of its ends is coaxial with a vertical axis passing through the center of the bowl. This end of the light constitutes a stop which defines the working position of the guide 17 (position shown in the drawing) and for which the pulsating rod 15 is vertical.
A spring 22, one end of which is attached to the guide 17 and the other end of which is attached to the end of a control member 23, tends to hold the guide 17 in the working position. This control member 23 is constituted by an arm carried by an axis 25, pivoted in bearings 26 fixed rigidly to the base plate 2. The axis 25 also carries a stop member constituted by a finger 27 which can be placed. in the way of the cruise control fins.
A spring 28 acts on the arm 23, in order to partially band the spring 22 and to keep the finger 27 out of reach of the blades of the regulator when the guide 17 is in the working position.
The operation of the music movement is as follows When the guide 17 is in the working position, the stop finger 27 is out of reach of the fins of the speed regulator, so that the spring motor 1 drives the drum 3 rotating at a constant speed. Under the action of the weight of the actuator 14, the arm 10 is held in engagement with the teeth of the ratchet wheel 9. It follows that this arm is lifted by the tooth on which it rests, then escapes it to fall on the next tooth.
Accordingly, each successive tooth of the ratchet wheel 9 actuates the arm 10 in a rhythmic oscillating movement and the actuator periodically lifts the rod 15 carrying the dancing doll. By the action of the legs of the dancer, which swing freely, the doll performs irregular rotations, in one direction and the other, of variable amplitudes imitating a dancer very well.
The musical movement described is intended to be fixed inside a box with these garettes 29, for example as shown in FIG. 1, to the side wall 30 on which the cover 31 is hinged. When the cover is in the open position, the res out 22 maintains the guide 17 in the working position and the dancing doll emerges from the cigarette box. On the other hand, when closing the cover, the latter exerts a sée A on the headstock against the action of the return spring 22.
The doll tilts, the spherical part of the guide 17 pivoting in its cup and the cylindrical part of this guide oscillating along the lumen 21 which defines the bone plane of the ball joint. The lower end of the pulsating rod 15, carrying the headstock, slides along a curved extension 32 of the actuating member 14. A stop 33 constituted by a tab, arranged at the end of the slot 21 , limits the maximum angular displacement of the guide 17. The oscillation of the guide 17 bands the spring 22 which causes an oscillation of the arm 23 against the action of the spring 28. Consequently, the stop finger 27 comes into place. place the regulator fins in the path and stop the musical movement.
From the foregoing, it can be seen that it is possible, using very simple, robust and very low cost means, to allow the working position and the retracted position to be placed. 'a dancing doll performing rhythmic vertical displacements and irregular angular displacements in one direction and the other and of variable amplitudes. The drive motor may be constituted by an electric motor. In a variant, the actuating mechanism of the poe, consisting of the ratchet wheel 9, the arm 10 and the member 14, can be replaced by any other equivalent actuating device.
