EMI0001.0009
Process for the production of a cobalt-containing azo dye. It has been found that one arrives at a new, valuable azo dye containing koba oil if one.
on because Monoa.zo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0009
lets cobalt-releasing agent act in such a way that <-1a13 a cobalt-containing azo-dye is formed which contains two mono-azo dye molecules bound to a cobalt atom in a complex.
The new dye forms a water-soluble powder that dyes wool from weakly alkaline, neutral to acetic acid baths in brown-yellow shades.
The above formula serving as the starting material. The corresponding Monoazo @ dye can be obtained by coupling the 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyra.zolonj-3'-sulfonic acid amide using methods known per se, eg. B. using hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite, diazotized 4-nitro-2. = Amino-1-oxybenzene can be produced.
The treatment with the cobalt-releasing agents takes place according to the present method in such a way that a carbon-containing dye is produced, which is less than one atom of cobalt per molecule of dye. contains in complex bond.
Accordingly, the metallization is expediently carried out with such cobalt-releasing agents and by such methods which, according to the invention, provide complex cobalt compounds of this composition. It is generally advisable to use less than one,
but to use at least 1/2 atom of cobalt and / or perform the metallization in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium. As a cobalt-releasing agent is used
suitably complex cabalt compounds of aliphatic oxycarboxylic acids or simple cobalt salts such as cobalt sulfate or cobalt acetate, optionally freshly precipitated cobalt hydroxide.
Example: 4.17 parts of the dye from diazotized 4-nitro; 2-aan.ino-1-oxyben, zol and 1-phenyl-3-methyl-.5 @ -pyrazolon-3 '@ ilf onsäureamid are in 150 parts of water and 2,
6 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution dissolved and, after the addition of 30 parts of a cobalt sulfate solution with a cobalt content of 1.05%, stirred for 30 minutes at 80-85. After this time: the complex formation is over. It is filtered and the filtrate is evaporated in vacuo.
