Bade in echten. blauen Tönen färbt.

Process for the preparation of a metal-containing monoazo dye. It has been found that a new valuable, chromium-containing monoazo dye is obtained if one uses a mono azo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0005
Elirom-donating agents can act in such a way that the chromium complex of the corresponding o, o'-dioxymonoazo dye is created, which contains one atom of chromium complexed per molecule of dye.
The new chromium-containing monoazo dye is a dark-colored substance when dried, which dissolves in dilute sodium carbonate solution with blue and in concentrated sulfuric acid with dichroic red-blue color, and wool from sulfuric acid. Soak in real ones. colors in blue tones.
The monoazo dyes corresponding to the above formula and used as starting materials in the present process can be prepared by adding a diazotized 2-alkoxy-5-methoxy-1-aminobenzene-4-sulionic acid morpholide with. 8-chloro-1-oxynaphthalene-8,6-clisulfonic acid combined.
The diazotization of the 2-All @ oxy-5-methoxy-1-aminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid morpholids can be carried out in a conventional manner known per se, e.g. B. with the help of sodium nitrite and hydrochloric acid ... The coupling of the diazo compound with the 8-chloro-1-oxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid is expediently carried out in an alkaline medium. If necessary, the coupling can also be carried out in the presence of suitable solvents, such as alcohol or pyridine. . ...
In the present process, the salts of trivalent chromium, such as chromium fluoride, chromium sulfate, chromium acetate and chromium formate, can be found in fetraclite as agents that donate chromium. The treatment with the chromium-releasing agents takes place under conditions in which vain cleavage of the alkyl radical in the o-position to the azo lip takes place -O-all, yl group.
This cleavage with simultaneous formation of the complex chromium compound can be carried out according to a method known per se by treating with the chromium-releasing agent in an aqueous, preferably mineral acid medium under pressure at an elevated temperature, e.g. B. Tempe temperatures between 110 and 140 C, makes.
Example: 30.2 parts of 2,5-dimethoxy-1-aminobenzene-4-sulfonsan remorpholide are diazotized with 7 parts of sodium nitrite in the usual manner in the presence of 46 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid. The solution of the diazo compound is stirred into a solution, cooled to 10, of 37 parts of 8-chloro-1-ox3-naphthalene-3,
6-disilfonsäiire and 40 parts of anhydrous oil Tatrituncarbonat in 400 parts of water allowed to flow. The resulting dye is separated out by adding sodium chloride and filtered off. When dried, it is a dark-colored substance that dissolves in a dilute sodium carbonate solution with red and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a blue color and dyes wool from acidic baths in red tones.
This dye can, advantageously without prior drying, be converted into the complex chromium compound. To this

Chromium-donating agents can act in such a way that the chromium complex of the corresponding o, o'-dioxymonoazo dye is created, which is one dye per molecule. Atom contains chromium bound in a complex.
The new, chromium-containing yionoazo dye, when dried, is a dark-colored sub punch that is red in dilute sodium carbonate solution and dichroic red in concentrated sulfuric acid receive tene dye paste is stirred with 1,000 parts of hot water and 10% sulfuric acid is added until a weak mineral acid reaction occurs.
After the addition of a chromium salfate solution [Cr (OH) SO.i1 containing 5.7 parts of chromium, the reaction mixture is heated to 133 to 136 in the leaded stirred autoclave and stirred at this temperature for 20 hours. The still hot reaction mixture is optionally filtered off from undissolved impurities. The chromium compound is advantageously deposited after concentrating the Fil trates to about 400 parts by volume by adding sodium chloride.
