Valve for air chamber. The present invention relates to a valve for an air air chamber, comprising a tubular valve body, the bore of which presents a part constituting a seat located between two cylindrical parts of different diameters, a first valve member mobile which is located at least partly in the cylindrical part of larger diameter of the borehole, and which is arranged to cooperate with said seat, a ring fixed in the cylindrical part of larger diameter, a res being released through the one of its ends on said ring and by the other end on this first movable valve member with a view to pressing it on said seat,
and a second movable member disposed in the smaller diameter cylindrical part of the borehole and protruding from this part in the rest position (read the borehole, the whole being established in such a way that a thrust exerted on the second movable valve member is directly transmitted to the first movable valve member before the second movable valve member is fully seated in the borehole of the valve body, characterized in that the tubular valve body is fixed in a sealed manner on a second tabular valve body, larger and provided with means for its attachment to an air chamber.
The appended drawing represents, to by way of example, an embodiment of the valve according to the invention.
The only figure is an axial section. The valve shown comprises a pre-Class 126d inier tubular valve body 41. provided with an external thread 42 and at its upper end a peripheral rim 43 against which a sealing ring 44 of synthetic rubber, for example, and having a conical bearing surface is supported. The tubular body 41 is screwed into a second tubular corDs 45, larger and provided with means for its attachment to an air chamber 46. These means comprise a flange 47 terminating the body 45 has its lower end, a washer 48 and a nut with hexagon 49 which is screwed on an external thread 50 that presents the body 45.
These means, as well as a nut 51 which is used for the fixing against the rim of a wheel are moreover the same ones that one meets in all the valves. commonly used. Thanks to the sealing ring 44 of the first valve body, the eonic bearing of which is clamped against a similar bearing that the body 45 presents, a sealed fixing of the two tubular bodies 41 is obtained. and 45 one inside the other, the first being able to be unscrewed from the second. A 52 cap is screwed onto a small diameter threaded upper part of the second tubular body.
A longitudinal borehole of the tubular body 41 comprises a part to frustoconical wall 53 located between two cylindrical parts 54 and 55 of different diameters. A ring 56 is driven into the cylindrical part 54 of larger diameter. It supports one end of a to coil spring 57 of which 1 the other end rests on -a bead 58 (1 that has a movable valve member 58 provided with an annular seal 59 made of synthetic rubber, for example. The valve member of which this seal is a part is normally supported by the effect of the spring 57 on the frustoconical surface 53 which therefore constitutes a seat.
It is easy to see that the valve closes automatically.
The borehole of the tubular body 41 tightens at its end adjacent to the cylindrical part 55 of the small pl-Lis. diameter and presents here -a cylindrical surface 60 of an even smaller diameter, than that of the part 55. This surface 60 serves as gniidage at the head 61a of a second movable member 61 which wedges in addition a rod, a bead 61b, the underside of which 61c </ B > constitutes a shoulder,
and a cylindrical extension 6M which is driven into a blind bore 58b presented by the mobile valve member 58. The seal 59 is , clamped axially between the shoulder 61c and a 58e shoulder presented by the bead, 58a.
In the rest position shown, in which the seal 59 is pressed against the seat 53, the head 6 launches it out of the borehole. By pressure exerted on this head, it can be driven into the borehole, which causes the lining 59 to rise from its seat 53, therefore the opening of the valve. As the head 6la is chamfered at its upper end, air can escape between it and the wall 60.
The valve described here is primarily intended to be mounted on an air chamber of a motorcycle or car.
Various modifications could be made to the valve shown. Thus, for example, the first valve body could be driven out in the second, and the interior of the tubular body 41 and the parts it contains could be arranged in the same way as the corresponding parts of the valve described in the main patent.
