Tube emptier with automatic closing device. The present invention relates to a tube vacuum with automatic closing device, characterized by a tubular case in which the tube to be emptied is intended for. be housed and maintained by a capsule fixed to the neck of the tube, the capsule comprising a sleeve provided with an orifice and a piston closing off said orifice in its rest position, these two members, adjusted one inside the other so sealed being capable of sliding relative to each other so as to release the orifice as soon as pressure is exerted on the tube by the key of the vacuum-tube and to close it automatically as soon as this pressure ceases.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the vacuum-tube forming the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial sectional view of a first vacuum tube; Fig. 2 is a partial side view, showing the device for actuating the key; fig. 3 shows the vacuum tube seen from the bottom, key side; fig. 4 shows the device for fixing the capsule to a tube of a second embodiment.
In both forms, the vacuum tube consists of three essential parts: a tubular case, a key and a closing cap. The open-bottomed tubular case 1 @ has a mouthpiece 2 with a diameter greater than the threaded collar 3 of the tube to be emptied 4. The case, which may be made of metal or of a molded material, is flattened on one side, as shown in fig. 3, to allow it to be placed stably on any flat surface. A slot 5 is formed from the top to the bottom of the case to serve as a guide for a jaw wrench 6 intended to grip the lower end of a tube 4 and to wrap it around it.
A curved lever 7 makes it possible to actuate the key 6 by means of a latching device consisting here of a freewheel coupling of the type used for bicycles and the hub 8 of which is integral with the end. of the key 6, while the crown 9 is linked to the lever 7. This device only allows the key 6 to be turned in the direction of the rolling of the tube, as indicated by the arrow in FIG. 2.
The closure cap is removable; it maintains the tube 4 in the case 1 of the vacuum ube. It has a piston 10 tightly fitted in a socket 11. The latter terminates in a dome-shaped base 12, in the center of which is formed the outlet 13. The piston 10 is a cylinder terminated by. a cone whose rounded tip 14 closes, in the rest position of the vacuum tube, the outlet orifice 13.
The piston 10 is provided with a partly threaded bore 15 enabling it to be screwed onto the threaded collar of the tube 4; the bore 1: i of the piston communicates by an inclined radial channel 16 with the space 17 left between the terminal cone of the piston and the dome, 12 of the sleeve. A coil spring 18 is housed between the piston 10 and the sleeve 11. and is supported, on the one hand. on a circular shoulder 19 of the piston, on the other hand, on a dis that 20 integral with the, sleeve 11 .. This spring thus tends to. draw the sleeve 11. towards the case and apply the outlet orifice 13 on the rounded head 14 of the cone of the piston.
The operation of the vacuum tube shown in fig. 1 to. 3 is: The key 6 and soli. The actuating mechanism being removed from the case, the lower end of the tube, the contents of which it is desired to use, is introduced between the jaws of the key. When the end of the tube is firmly gripped by the key, the tube is then introduced into the case through the bottom thereof, the end of the key connected to its actuating mechanism being guided by the slot 5 .
The threaded collar 3 said tube 4, released from its. ordinary closure capsule exceeds the mouth 2 of the el case: it is screwed to. melts the removable capsule by means of the threading of its piston 10. It is then sufficient to exert on the lever 7 a slight pressure in the direction of the arrow (fig. 2) so that a small part of the contents of the tube is expelled from the latter by the bore 15 of the piston and the channel 16 in the space 17 where it exerts pressure on the dome 12 of the sleeve 11.
The latter, thanks to the pressure of the paste and the traction exerted on the tube by the intermediary of the key, slides upwards against the action of the spring 18 and thus frees the orifice of exit 13 which lets out the quaiil, ity of matter that one wishes. As soon as you stop pressing the lever 7, the pressure on the dome and the traction exerted on the tube cease and the sleeve is brought back by the spring 18. The orifice 13 is therefore immediately closed by the, round head die 14 of the piston cone.
The embodiment according to FIG. 4 re presents a removable device for fixing the capsule dt, tubes having collars of different diameters whose threads do not coincide with the thread of the piston. The device shown comprises an externally threaded sleeve 21 crimped onto the piston 10, the bore of which does not need to be threaded. The sleeve 21 encloses a cylindrical rubber stopper 22 pierced along its axis with a partially conical channel 23 capable of cooperating with collars of tubes of different gauges.
A locking key 24 consisting of spring leaves cooperating by one of their curved ends with the thread of the sleeve 21 and by the other curved end with the upper edge of the tube to be emptied, allows, thanks to the clamping effect killed by a threaded rod 25 and a nut 26, (fix the cap on the tube tightly.
We can, of course, provide other forms of execution; one can, for example, provide a closure cap whose outer sleeve is fixed to the tube to be emptied and whose piston is the movable member unmasks a side orifice of the sleeve. It would also be possible to replace the lever by a wheel or a handwheel and provide a device for actuating the ratchet and ratchet wrench.
Like the case itself, the iron meture capsule can be made of metal or of a molded material.
The case may be, as in the example shown, in one piece or include a separate mouthpiece 2, screwed or forced into its cylindrical part. The socket 11 may have come as a single piece with the mouth 2 of the case.
