Description
Dispositif de bloquage pour cuvettes réglables des roulements à billes. L'objet de la présente invention est un dispositif de bloquage pour cuvettes réglables des roulements à billes. Le dispositif est des tiné principalement à être appliqué aux rou lemenLs à billes des pédaliers de bicyclettes et des moyeux de roues de bicyclettes et motocyclettes, mais il se prête à tout autre application.
Suivant l'invention une partie filetée de la boîte du roulement, partie dans laquelle est vissée la cuvette, est munie de fentes longitudinales et conformée de manière à présenter une certaine élasticité, un contre- écrou, vissé sur la cuvette étant destiné, après le réglage de la cuvette, à s'engager, lors de son serrage, sur ladite partie et à la serrer concentriquement contre la cuvette.
Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention appliquée à une boîte de pé dalier de bicyclette.
La fig. 1 est une vue en élévation, par tiellement en coupe longitudinale, et ' La fig. 2 est une vue de face.
La boîte 1 du pédalier est munie d'un filet intérieur 6 dans lequel vient se visser la cuvette réglable 4 au moyen d'une clé à ergots qui s'engagent dans les trous 7 de la cuvette. L'extrémité de la boîte 1 dans la quelle se visse la cuvette est chanfreinée ex térieurement vers sou bord libre et munie de fentes longitudinales 5, de sorte que ladite extrémité présente une certaine élasticité. Sur la cuvette 4 est vissé un écrou de bloquage 2 muni intérieurement d'une fraisure conique 8 qui épouse après la mise en place de l'écrou le chanfrein de l'extrémité de la boîte 1. L'axe du pédalier est désigné par 3.
Le fonctionnement du dispositif décrit est le suivant: quand le pédalier est monté, on fait le réglage du roulement en serrant la cuvette contre les billes. Une fois la cu vette exactement réglée pour laisser tourner le roulement à billes sans jeu, on serre l'écrou de bloquage qui, par suite de la pression que la fraisure exerce sur l'extrémité chanfreinée de la boîte, provoque tin serrage concentrique de cette extrémité sur la cuvette.
Le dispositif décrit offre extérieurement l'aspect d'un bloquage ordinaire par contre- écrou vissé sur la cuvette, dont il a, à très peu prés, les dimensions. Il est très simple et a l'avantage de permettre; par un seul coup de clé; de provoquer un serrage concentrique sur le pourtour de la partie filetée. Ce serrage con centrique empèche totalement le déréglage de la cuvette et la maintient exactement con centrique à. l'axe du pédalier malgré les irré gularités que la trempe peut faire subir au diamètre de sa partie filetée.
Locking device for adjustable cups of ball bearings. The object of the present invention is a locking device for adjustable cups of ball bearings. The device is intended primarily to be applied to ball bearings of cranksets of bicycles and wheel hubs of bicycles and motorcycles, but it lends itself to any other application.
According to the invention, a threaded part of the bearing box, part into which the cup is screwed, is provided with longitudinal slots and shaped so as to have a certain elasticity, a lock nut, screwed onto the cup being intended, after the adjustment of the bowl, to engage, during its tightening, on said part and to tighten it concentrically against the bowl.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention applied to a bicycle crankset box.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view, partly in longitudinal section, and FIG. 2 is a front view.
The box 1 of the crankset is provided with an internal thread 6 in which is screwed the adjustable cup 4 by means of a spanner wrench which engage in the holes 7 of the cup. The end of the box 1 into which the bowl is screwed is chamfered outwardly towards its free edge and provided with longitudinal slots 5, so that said end has a certain elasticity. On the cup 4 is screwed a locking nut 2 provided internally with a conical countersink 8 which follows, after the nut has been fitted, the chamfer of the end of the box 1. The axis of the crankset is designated by 3 .
The operation of the device described is as follows: when the crankset is mounted, the bearing is adjusted by tightening the cup against the balls. Once the bowl is exactly adjusted to let the ball bearing rotate without play, the locking nut is tightened which, as a result of the pressure exerted by the countersink on the chamfered end of the box, causes this concentric tightening of this box. end on the bowl.
The device described externally has the appearance of an ordinary locking by counter-nut screwed onto the bowl, of which it has, approximately, the dimensions. It is very simple and has the advantage of allowing; with a single key stroke; to cause concentric tightening around the periphery of the threaded part. This con centric tightening completely prevents the bowl from being out of adjustment and keeps it exactly centric to. the axis of the crankset despite the irregularities that the hardening can subject to the diameter of its threaded part.
