Appareil pour le serrage et desserrage rapide des rayons des roues de cycle. L'objet de la présente invention est un appareil pour le serrage -et desserrage rapide des rayons des roues .de -cycle. Cet appareil est caractérisé par un corps creux cylindri- que, par une clé montée de façon rotative à l'extrémité de ce corps et construite de façon à pouvoir être adaptée sur les écrous des rayons, par un dispositif de commande de cette clé et permettant de, faire tourner la clé dans les deux sens,
une partie de ce dis positif étant solidaire de la clé et une autre partie étant solidaire du corps creux, et par un passage latéral suivant une génératrice du cylindre du corps creux et s'étendant sur toute la hauteur du corps et de la clé, le tout disposé de manière qu'on puisse, avec une main, .engager l'appareil sur un rayon d'une roue de cycle et serrer son écrou au moyen du dispositif de commande -de la clé mû avec i' autre main, pour permettre, en particulier, ïe centrage rapide des roues île cycle.
Le déssin ci-annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution de l'appa- reil faisant l'objet de l'invention. La fig. 1 en est une vue en élévation avec coupe partielle, la fig. 2 en est une vue en plan, et la fig. 3 est une coupe partielle hori zontale par A-A de fig. 1.
La fig. 4 est une vue schématique repré sentant le mode -d'utilisation de l'appareil. Dans la forme d'exécution représentée, l'appareil comprend un corps -creux cylin drique 1 muni d'une poignée fige 2. Un pi gnon 3 est monté de façon rotative à la partie supérieure de ce corps creux.. L'axe du pignon 3 présente une gorge 4 dans laquelle s'engage sans frottement une goupille -de retenue 5. Sur le pignon 3 est vissée une -clé ayant la forme voulue pour pouvoir être adaptée sur le carré de serrage des écrous des rayons.
Un passage latéral radial est prévu sur toute la "hauteur du corps 1, du pignon 3 et de la -clé 6, pour donner .passage au rayon à serrer. Un axe latéral est fixé sur le corps 1 et porte une manivelle 7 solidaire d'un pignon S engrenant avec le pignon 3.
Le mode d'utilisation de cet appareil est le suivant: Les rayons sont premièrement enfilés sur la jante en vissant leurs écrous d'un tour ou deux seulement, puis on engage l'appareil sur chaque rayon successivement comme repré senté en fig. 4,-et l'on serre chaque écrou en quelques tours de la manivelle 7. L'opération est ainsi beaucoup plus rapide qu'avec la olé utilisée habituellement pour ce travail.
En variante, l'appareil pourra présenter un dispositif de commande comprenant un rochet solidaire de la clé et un levier à cli- quets monté sur le corps creux, ou encore un pignon hélicoïdal solidaire de la clé et une vis tangentielle montée sur le corps creux et apte à entraîner cette roue.
L'appareil pourra aussi présenter un dis positif de commande comprenant un simple petit volant moleté solidaire de la clé, .et un volant moleté fixe solidaire du corps creux.

The attached drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus which is the subject of the invention. Fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof in partial section, FIG. 2 is a plan view thereof, and FIG. 3 is a partial horizontal section through A-A of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 is a schematic view showing the mode of use of the device. In the embodiment shown, the apparatus comprises a hollow cylindrical body 1 provided with a fixed handle 2. A pin gnon 3 is rotatably mounted to the upper part of this hollow body. pinion 3 has a groove 4 in which engages without friction a retaining pin 5. On the pinion 3 is screwed a key having the desired shape so as to be able to be adapted to the tightening square of the spoke nuts.
A radial lateral passage is provided over the entire height of the body 1, of the pinion 3 and of the key 6, to give the spoke to be tightened. A lateral axis is fixed to the body 1 and carries a crank 7 integral with 'a pinion S meshing with pinion 3.
The method of use of this device is as follows: The spokes are first threaded onto the rim by screwing their nuts only one or two turns, then the device is engaged on each spoke successively as shown in fig. 4, -and each nut is tightened with a few turns of the crank 7. The operation is thus much faster than with the oil usually used for this work.
As a variant, the apparatus could have a control device comprising a ratchet integral with the key and a ratchet lever mounted on the hollow body, or even a helical pinion integral with the key and a tangential screw mounted on the hollow body. and capable of driving this wheel.
The apparatus may also have a positive control device comprising a simple small knurled flywheel integral with the key,. And a fixed knurled flywheel integral with the hollow body.
