Dispositif multiplicateur d'efforts.
Force multiplier device. The object of the present invention is a force multiplier device, intended to be placed between a tool and a part to which this tool must rotate.
This device is characterized by two supports mounted rotatably one on top of the other, one of which carries a toothed wheel intended to rotate under the action of the tool and has a stop intended to bear on a fixed point. , while the other can be secured momentarily with the aforementioned part and is provided with an internal toothing in gear relationship with the aforementioned toothed wheel.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial section thereof; fig. 2 is an elevational view from left to right of FIG. 1 and fig. 3 is an elevational view from right to left of FIG. 1, the embodiment being shown therein in the working position, for unscrewing a nut from an automobile wheel. The embodiment shown com takes a support 1, inside which is rotatably mounted, by means of two ball bearings 2 and 3, a second support 4.
The support 1 has a barrel 5 in which a shaft 6 can freely rotate at one end of which a wheel 7 is keyed; at its other end, the shaft 6 has a square 8 on which a nut 9 is forcibly pressed. The support 4 carries an uncut 10 ca on the inside, so as to be able to engage on a hexagon nut; it also has an internal toothing 11 meshing with the wheel 7. The support 4 is held in the support 1 by a spring in the form of an arc of a circle 12, engaged in part in a groove of the support 1 and pressing on the support 4 Finally, the support 1 is integral with a peripheral stop 13.
Suppose we want to unscrew the nut - of a motor wheel; the barrel 10 will be placed on this, then, on the nut 9, a standard tightening wrench B. If this wrench is turned in the direction of the arrow f in fig. 3, the support 4 mounted on the nut A will first remain stationary thanks to the resistance to loosening offered by this nut and the support 1 will turn on the support 4 in the direction of the arrow f ', </ B> until the stop 13 which it presents has come to rest against a section of the nut C of the automobile hub.
From this moment, the support 1 will remain stationary and the support 4, under the action of the wheel 7, meshing with the wheel 11, will turn in the direction of the arrow f unscrewing the nut A by requiring less force than would be required with key B alone.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the device shown in the drawing; in particular, the balls of bearings 2 and 3 could be replaced by rollers; one could use another device than the spring 12, to keep the two supports between them; finally, the wheel 7 could be placed in the longitudinal axis of the device, in this case, it would be necessary to insert between this wheel and the internal Il toothing two return wheels, so that the wheel 7 and the teeth 11 rotate in the same direction.
