Drawing device head. The object of the invention is a drawing device head, characterized by a circular plate with a graduated edge intended to be fixed to the parallelogram of the device, so as to move without rotating on the plane of the drawing, said plate being interposed between an operating handle and a base plate having members for fixing two rulers perpendicular to each other, the base plate, the graduated plate and the handle being mounted coaxially, the base plate and the.
handle being capable of being moved as a whole around said common axis, in order to be brought into any angular position relative to the graduated plate, a locking mechanism making it possible to immobilize said base plate assembly and handle relative to the graduated plate, and this in a series of regularly spaced angular positions.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the drawing device head forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view from above.
Fig. 2 is a section along II-II of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3, 4 and 5 show the different parts of the head separately. Fig. 3 is the graduated plate seen from above. Fig. 4 is the operating handle seen from below. Fie. 5 is the base plate seen from above, a metal spring washer being shown partially broken away.
The drawing apparatus head shown comprises a circular plate 1, the edge of which is bevelled over a large part of its periphery. On this inclined edge is engraved a graduation 2 in degrees. This plate 1 has, moreover, two ears 3 pierced with an orifice 4 serving for fixing said plate 1 to the usual parallelogram of a drawing device. This arrangement allows the movement of the plate 1 over the entire surface of the drawing plane, the plate performing a translational movement, but no rotational movement. In the center of the plate is fixed, by means of four screws 5, a toothed wheel 6.
The plate 1 and the wheel 6 are pierced in their center and are crossed by a pin 7 interconnecting a support plate 8 and a handle 9. The handle 9 is in the form of a button having a polygonal circumference facilitating its ma no ' work. It is hollowed out and the axis, 7 is screwed by force in its center, so as to form one body with it. The axis 7 has a portion of larger diameter 10 coming to bear on the graduated plate 1. The lower end. of the axis 7 is screwed into a threaded hole made in the center of the base plate 8. Between the base plate 8 and the plate 1 is placed a metal spring washer 11.
When we press button 9, we do. turn the button assembly 9, base plate 8 with respect to the graduated plate 1. A mark I2, provided on the base plate 8, then moves in front of the graduation 2 of the plate 1 and allows the value of l to be read angle of which the said assembly has turned. This movement takes place against the action of the spring washer 11 which aims to hold the parts in the desired relative position. The base plate 8 also has two arms 13 forming a right angle between them and intended to receive the strips of the siner device.
In the recess of the handle 9 is further mounted a pawl 14 pivotally mounted at its center around a screw 15 screwed into the bottom of said recess. One of the ends of the pawl 14 forms a tooth 16 intended to engage between two of the teeth of the wheel 6. The other end of the pawl 14 is pivoted at 17 on the side of a pusher 18 projecting from the side. of the handle 9 through an orifice in its side wall.
Inside the recess, the pusher slides in a sleeve 19. a spring 20 is disposed between the bottom of the sleeve and the plunger, this spring tending to keep the plunger in its repoussé position. Sée towards the outside, position for which the tooth 16 of the pawl is engaged between two teeth of the wheel 6. The assembly constituted by the handle and the base plate is then prevented from rotating relative to the graduated plate.
When acting by hand on the pous evening 18, against the action of the spring 20, the tooth 16 is withdrawn from the wheel 6 and the base plate 8 can then be rotated with the handle 9. In the embodiment shown, the wheel 6 has twenty-four teeth. By passing tooth 16 of the pawl from one tooth to the other of wheel 6, the base plate -8 toLurne 15. Thus, thanks to the locking mechanism constituted by the pawl 14 and the wheel 6, it is possible to immobilize the whole base plate and handle with respect to the graduated plate, and this - in a series of angular positions spaced 15 apart.
