7.nsatzpatent to the main patent no. 261366. Process for the production of a copper-containing dye. It has been found that a new, valuable copper-containing dye is obtained by using the disazo dye of the formula
EMI0001.0003
copper-releasing agents can act under conditions where the alkyl groups are split off.
When dry, the new dye is a dark-colored substance which dissolves in water with a red-blue color and dyes cotton in blue shades of good lightfastness.
The disazo dyes used as starting material in the present process can, for. B. be prepared by a tetrazotierter 3,3'-dialkoxy-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl on the one hand with 2-oxycarbazole-3,6,8-trisulfonic acid and on the other hand with 2-Amirio-5-oxy naph - thalin-7-sulfonic acid combined.
Among the 3,3'-dialkoxy-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl compounds that are suitable here, those particularly suitable are those which contain alkoxy groups with only a few carbon atoms, such as
B. 3,3'-diethoxy-4,4'-di-aminodiphenyl and especially 3,3'-dimethoxy-4,4'-diaminodiphenyl. It is advisable to mix the tetra-azotized 3,3 'dialkoxy-4,4'-diaminodiplienyl first with 2-oxycarbazole-3,6,8-trisulfonic acid and then afterwards with 2-amino-5-oxy na.phtlialin.- 7-sulphonic acid to combine.
The first coupling of the Tetrazov connection takes place with advantage in neutral to weakly alkaline, z. B. sodium bicarbonate-alkaline or sodium carbonate-alkaline medium. The subsequent coupling of the diazoazo compound can, for example, in a more alkaline such as sodium carbonate-alkaline or
ätzalkalisehem medium take place, if appropriate at a slightly elevated temperature and / or using suitable agents that accelerate the coupling reaction, such as. B. pyridine etc.
As copper-releasing agents come in the present process z. B. salts of mono- or bivalent copper, such as copper (I) chloride or copper (II) sulfate, are also possible, furthermore compounds which contain copper in complex bonds, such as copper oxyammonia, and other copper ammine complexes or copper sodium tartrate. The effect of the copper-releasing agent takes place, for example, in weakly acidic,
neutral or alkaline medium, if necessary - using suitable additives; as such there may be mentioned: alkali salts of aliphatic carboxylic acids, such as sodium acetate, or aliphatic oxycarboxylic acids, such as sodium tartrate, organic bases, such as pyridine, ethyl amine, morpholine, and other acid-binding agents. The treatment with copper-releasing agents can expediently be carried out in an aqueous medium at elevated temperature.
There are z. B. achieved good results when the treatment finitely copper-releasing agents is carried out in the presence of ethanolamines.
Example: 42.5 parts of 2-oxycarbazole-3,6,8-trisilfonic acid (as tripotassium salt) and 30 parts of crystallized sodium acetate are in 400 parts. Dissolved warm water and combined at 8 with the tetrazo compound of 24.4 parts of 3,3'-dimethoxy-4,4'-diaminodiplienyl.
Gradual addition of 120 parts of 10% sodium carbonate solution accelerates the formation of the monoazo dye and as soon as this has ended, 23.9 parts of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulphonic acid and 30 parts of sodium carbonate, dissolved in 300% - add water to it. The coupling is carried out to Encle by stirring at room temperature. The dye is then salted and filtered.
The dye paste is dissolved in 4000 parts of 1Vasser with the addition of 200 parts of pvridine. 200 parts of an ammoniacal copper sulfate solution (corresponding to 50 parts of CuSO. 5H;, 0 and 13.6 parts of NI3) are added and the mixture is heated to 80-90 "for 12 hours. The dye is then salted, filtered and dried.
