printing machine for dials, plates and similar objects. The object of the present invention is a machine for printing dials, plates and the like. This machine, comprising a plate-holder table and a dial-holder table arranged in such a way to cooperate with a printing pad with periodic movement, is characterized by two adjustable position tables between which the pad moves axially and transversely, and by an ink roller and a knife (the massage synchronized with the pad to prepare the cliché automatically before each printing.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the machine forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a front view.
Fig. 2 is a vertical section following II-11 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a plan view with partial section.
Fig. 4 is a side view with partial section.
In the embodiment shown, the machine comprises a frame 1 on the front of which is mounted a slide 2 with transverse movement. The latter can occupy three positions, namely the working position, in the center, for locating the cliché, on left, and locating the dial, on right. A hand hand lever 3, pivoted at 4 on the slide and having a control handle 5, cooperates, by its beak 6 and under the action of a return spring, not shown, with three stop notches cut in a rule 7 screwed on the frame, so to </ B > be able to immobilize the slide in one or other of said positions.
The slide 2 carries two tables 8 and 9, on which are respectively fixed a plate 8a and a dial 9a. These tables are mounted on horizontal slides perpendicular to each other and have transverse 10, and depth 11 adjustment screws. Thanks to housings circular 85, formed in the slide 2, the tables 8 and 9 can, moreover, rotate on their vertical axis and be blocked in the desired angular position, each by means of a screw 12.
Two 13 locating glasses fixed to each side of the frame allow the position of the cliché and that of the dial to be successively adjusted.
The printing pad 14 is fixed to the lower end of a hollow cleat 15 driven into a vertical sleeve 16. This sleeve chon is cast in one piece with a radial arm 17 and a hub 18. This hub is keyed, but can slide on a vertical shaft 19 on which is keyed a toothed wheel 20 meshing with a toothed sector 21 keyed on an axis 22 carrying an arm 23 cooperating by a roller 24 with a cam 25. This cam is formed in such a way to to give a-Li buffer 14 a transverse oscillating movement between the dial and the cliché.
An electric motor 26 connects by a worm 27 a wheel 28 keyed on a shaft 29 with a pinion 30. The latter drives in its turn a wheel 31 fixed to one end of the cam 25. At the other end of this cam is fixed another cam 32 controlling a lever 33 pivoted at 34 and acting on a vertical 35 release rod said dial after printing.
The tree 29 also carries a drum à6 (fig. 3 and 4) bathing from below in a tank 37 </ B> containing printing ink. This drum drives a second drum 38 on which a scraper 39 is pressed, removing the ink overlay.
The drive shaft of the cam 25 carries a cam 41 (fig. 2) cooperating with a lever 42 pivoted at 43 and acting by a fork 46 on a groove 44 of the hub 18, so to give the pad a vertical back-and-forth movement which, combined with the aforementioned transverse oscillating movement, lowers the pad on the plate, raises it , then lowers it on the dial, and vice versa.
The 80 shaft also carries a crank 40 (fig. 3 and 4) provided with a crank button 82, by which it controls one of two parallel connecting rods 68, the second of these connecting rods being guided by the button 82 of a crank 40a carried by the axis 80a. The two connecting rods 68 each carry an intermediate lateral roller 69 capable of sliding in a corresponding slideway 70. Beyond these rollers, the connecting rods are united by a shaft 71 on which is pivoted a block 45 carrying a vertical slide 47 adjustable in high-shot by a-screw 48. An inking roller 49 is rotatably mounted on springs 50 to < / B> the base of block 45.
The inclination of the latter on the horizontal plane is determined by means of a lever 51 rotated to 52 and locked at the desired angle by a screw 53 , so to make it integral with the block. A its free end, this lever carries a roller 54 cooperating with a slide 55 </ B > (fig. 1, 3 and 4).
The latter presents a small lift 56 determining the precise moment when a collecting knife 57, integral with the slide 47, comes into contact with the cliché, shortly after the start. of the inking stroke of the roller 49. A the opposite end of the slide 55 is a spring pawl 58 ensuring that the roller 54, on its return, passes under the slide, which avoids any risk of contact between the knife and the cliché - The roller is grooved to the upper part of the slide by an inclined plane 59 (fig. 4).
Block 45 also carries two lugs 60 at the end of which are placed two stop screws 73 coming to rest at the end of the connecting rods 68, </ B > in such a way to prevent any accidental contact of the roller or the knife with the dial and the cliché during the return stroke of these components. A bottom of stroke, the roller 49 gets inked on the drum 38.
The sleeve 16 carries a lug 61, cooperating with two precision adjustable stops 62 (fig. 1) attached to the frame, on either side of the sleeve, to exactly determine the position of the printing pad above the cliché and the dial.
The 15 cleat contains a 63 rod for enlargement of the stamp. This rod co operates with a cam-bell 64 in sector, rotatably centered on the hub 18, whose vertical movement it follows. This cam carries a vertical finger 65 engaging in a guide 66 which can be locked in the desired position in a groove in an arc of a circle 67 </ B > that the frame presents. This groove has a graduation indicating the position of the guide 66 corresponding to a determined ratio of enlargement or reduction of the image of the cliché.
The cam 25 has adjustable removable attachments 72 determining exactly the position of the pad above the cliché and the dial, in cooperation with the stops 62.
The operation of this machine is as follows: - The cliché is placed on the left table and the dials successively on the right one, at each cycle of the pad movement . The electric motor is controlled by a pedal switch, with permanent engagement position for continuous operation. The duration of the cycle of the movement of the buffer is determined in such a way to leave to the operator the time of remove the dial that has just been printed and place the next dial. The inking of the cliché and the collection of the ink are entirely automatic, which gives a great saving of time and a very uniform impression.
To start up the machine, check the transverse, depth and angular positions of the cliché and of the dial by means of the spotting glasses placed to left and to right.
The 68 connecting rods could be replaced with a single, slightly larger connecting rod.
