Constant force timepiece. The object of the present invention is a so-called constant force timepiece comprising at least one barrel periodically cocking a coil spring which, by relaxing, actuates the clockwork movement; characterized by a device limiting the unwinding of the coil spring at the end of the relaxation of the spring from the barrel.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object. of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view; fig. 2 is an enlarged perspective view of part of the drive mechanism; fig. 3 is a section taken along line III-III of FIG. 1; figs. 4 and 5 show, in plan and in two different positions, a part of the device a.rmage of the coil spring.
The timepiece shown in the drawings comprises two barrels 1 with a long running time, the springs of which are wound up by means of a common pinion 2 in engagement with their respective ratchets and of which the drums are both in engagement with a pinion 3 integral with a toothed wheel 4 which, through the intermediary of a pinion 5, a toothed wheel 6, a second pinion 7 and a second toothed wheel 8, drives a pinion 9 integral with a pin 10 on which is mounted a coil spring 11.
One of the ends of the coil spring 11 is planted in a disc 12 wedged on the axis 10, while its other end is fixed to a cam 13 mounted loose, with a toothed wheel 14 and a pinion 15 which are integral. with it on axis 10.
The toothed wheel 14 is engaged with the pinion 16 of a mobile driving the exhaust mobile, and the pinion 15 is engaged with the toothed wheel 17 wedged on the axis 18, one of the ends of which carries the 1.9 minute hand. On the other end of the minute axis 18 are wedged against each other two pinions with five wedge teeth 20 and 21 each intended to cooperate with one of the two pins 22,
23 diametrically opposed and axially offset from one another and arranged at the periphery of a pin disc 24 wedged on the axis 10 at the end opposite to that on which the cam 13 is mounted idly. and the wheel 14. The disc 12 which is also wedged on the axis 10 carries, moreover, a long pin 25 intended to cooperate with the cam 13 as it will be. explained further.
The operation of this timepiece is as follows: The barrels 1, acting through the wheels and pinions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, turn the disc 12 in the direction of the 'winding the coil spring 11 by half a turn every six minutes. The periodicity of this winding is ensured by the alternate cooperation of the two pins 22 and 23 with the pinions 20, 21 with five wedge teeth wedged on the axis 18 of the minutes.
Every six minutes, one of the pinions 20, 21 releases one of the pins 22, 23 and the disc 24, integral with the axis 10; of pinion 9 and disc 12, rapidly completes a half-turn, charging the coil spring Il with a half-turn.
This res, for its part, acts constantly, with a force which never varies by more than half a turn, that is to say practically constant, on the mobile formed by the cam 13, the wheel 14 and the pinion 15; this mobile, mounted idle on the axle 10, is engaged, on the one hand, with the minute wheel 17, on the other hand, with the pin 16 of a mobile driving the exhaust.
At the end of the relaxation of the springs of the barrels 1, the cam 13, after having completed a half-turn under the action of the spring 11, abuts by its face 13 'against the pin 25 which the disc 12 carries, which prevents the spring 11 from being disarmed by more than half a turn.
