Ratchet ratchet device The present invention relates to a ratchet ratchet device for winding a barrel spring movement.
In most movements of music boxes or other spring mechanisms, the winding is relatively noisy because the pawl (s) jump from one tooth to the other of the ratchet.
In addition, some spring-loaded pawls are supported more or less strongly against the teeth of the ratchet, thereby requiring a relatively large additional winding force.
The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and the latching device which is the subject thereof is characterized by at least one pawl mounted oscillating on the barrel and having two ends shaped to engage with the teeth of the ratchet driven in rotation. , one end of this pawl having an inner cam surface cooperating with each of the teeth of the ratchet which oscillates the pawl in one direction around its axis by bringing its other end between two other teeth, this other end having an outer cam surface cooperating with each of the teeth of the ratchet which oscillates the pawl in the opposite direction.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of this device and in section through line 1-1 of FIG. 2.
Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the device.
The ratchet click device shown is used for winding a barrel spring movement for a music box. The ratchet 1 pierced with a square hole is mounted on a square 2 of the winding axis 3. Instead of a square it is understood that one could provide any other section, for example a hexagon. One end of this pin 3 carries a winding key 4 and the other end a projection (not shown) for fixing the spring to be wound up and which has also not been shown.
The barrel wheel 5 is shown with its toothed crown facing upwards in FIG. 2. Two pawls 6, 6 'are mounted to oscillate on pivots 7, 7' integral with the barrel wheel 5 and diametrically opposed. A disc 8 is mounted on the axis 3 between a clip 9 and the ratchet 1 to retain the pawls 6, 6 'on their pivots.
Each pawl 6, 6 'has two ends shaped to come into engagement with the teeth of the ratchet 1 driven in rotation in the direction of the arrow during reassembly. One end 10 of the pawl 6 has an inner cam surface 11 cooperating with each of the teeth of the ratchet 1 which oscillates the pawl 6 counterclockwise about its axis 7. The end 12 of the pawl 6 is thus brought between two other teeth of the ratchet 1. This end 12 has an outer cam surface 13 cooperating with each of the teeth of the ratchet 1 which causes the pawl 6 to oscillate in the opposite direction to the previous one, that is to say in the clockwise.
During reassembly, the movement spring tends to drive the ratchet backwards, that is to say in the opposite direction to that of the arrow. This movement is prevented by the engagement of one of the ends of the pawls 6, 6 '. Fig. 1 shows the pawl 6 'with its end 12' in the position for retaining the corresponding tooth of the ratchet. For the next tooth, it will be the end 10 of the pawl 6 which will be in the retaining position of the ratchet. Then the end 10 'of the pawl 6' and then the end 12 of the pawl 6 and so on.
It is also possible to provide only one pawl instead of two, which has the effect of increasing the displacement.

angularly behind the ratchet between the stop positions.
The ratchet device described has the advantage of being safe and silent in operation. In addition, it does not require any particular effort for actuating the pawls.
The ratchet device described is particularly suitable for musical movements because it is robust and would withstand being handled by children. All protection in the field of time measurement technology is waived.
