Mechanical control device. The present invention relates to a mechanical control apparatus making it possible to actuate various machines and comprising a portable frame and a motor, for example an electric motor to launch, carried by an oscillating sole articulated with the frame by one of its ends, the motor shaft being provided at one of its ends with at least two grooved pulleys. on one of which passes a trapezoidal belt driving a pulley carried by an intermediate shaft,
the sole carrying the motor can be moved in the direction of the axis of the latter, so as to bring one or the other of the pulleys carried by the motor shaft in the plane of the pulley -of the intermediate shaft and thus make it possible to drive the pulley of this intermediate shaft at will by one or the other of the engine pulleys, which have different diameters.
The drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the apparatus according to the invention. Fig. 1 is an elevational view of the first embodiment of the apparatus.
Fig. 2 is a sectional side view of this form.
Fig. d is a sectional plan view.
Figs. 4 and 5 are elevation and profile views of the second embodiment. The apparatus illustrated in fig. 1 to 3 comprises a frame 1 of angle irons, which gives it a .great lightness.
The frame could also be formed from one or more castings.
The frame 1 is supported, on one of its sides, by two rollers 2, mounted on a shaft 3, integral with this frame. On the other side, the frame 1 rests on two feet 4, formed by the curved lower end of each of the two uprights of this frame.
A sole 5 is mounted at one end on a shaft 6 carried by the frame, so as to be able to rotate. This shaft 6 passes through the sole which can slide transversely on it and be immobilized in the desired position on this shaft 6 by a screw 7. The sole 5 has a projecting part provided with a hole traversed by a bolt 11, on which a wing nut is screwed limiting the oscillations of the sole upwards. This projecting part bears, on the other hand, on a spring slipped on the bolt 11, and constituting an elastic suspension for this sole.
The sole 5 supports an electric motor 8, the shaft of which is provided at one of its ends with a pulley 9 and at the other with three grooved pulleys 10, the diameters of which are stepped. A trapezoidal belt 13, passing over one of the pulleys 10, drives a large grooved pulley 15, mounted on a shaft 16, supported by plain or ball bearings fixed on horizontal cross members of the frame 1. The weight motor is used to tension the belt 13.
The protection of the pulleys 10, 15 and of the belt 13 is ensured by a removable casing 14. This casing 14 has at its lower part an oblong hole through which passes the smaller pulley 10 and which allows the motor to oscillate. around the shaft axis 6.
The shaft 16 also carries three grooved pulleys 17 whose diameters are stepped and one of which drives, by a zoidal V-belt 18, one of the three grooved pulleys 19 whose diameters are also stepped and which are carried by a tree 20.
Two plain bearings or ball bearings 23 support the shaft 20 on a melle 24, articulated at one end with the frame by means of a pivot 25 at the upper part of this frame. A bolt 27 provided with a nut immobilizes the sole 24 in the desired position by clamping, between the latter and a counterplate, of the wing of the angle iron, constituting one of the uprights of the frame 1. A spring 26 has the function of tensioning the upper belt 18 in a normal manner when the nut of the bolt 27 is loosened. After this tension adjustment which takes place during use of the machine or after lengthening of the belt, the nut of the bolt 27 is tightened and the sole 24 is thus immobilized in the useful position.
The movement of the belt 18 from one pair to the other of corresponding grooved pulleys 17 and 19 is obtained by two forks 21 and 22. These forks 21 and 22 move so as to accompany the belt 18, so that we can change gears at will. Each fork 21 or 22 is carried by an arm inclined from top to bottom towards the inside of the frame; the upper end of this arm is fixed at the end of a pivot also integral with a lever which controls its rotation. The fork is brought in this way vis-à-vis the smallest or the. larger of the grooved pulleys, depending on whether the control lever is raised or lowered.
The horizontal position of the lever corresponds to the average position of the oven, which is located opposite the groove of the average diameter pulley. Notches, visible in fig. 1, correspond to the three positions that the control lever of each fork can take. In order for the forks 21 and 22 to be able to act effectively, it is essential that they be one in the vicinity of the pulleys 17 and the other in the vicinity of the pulleys 19.
The shaft 20 is coupled by a Cardan joint 28 to a shaft 29, provided at its other end with a Cardan joint and a sleeve 30, allowing the drive, at varying angles, of the various machines to be controlled. .
The frame 1 is provided at its upper part with two handles 31, facilitating the inclination of the device, in order to allow it to roll on its rollers 2, during its movements.
The variation of the speed, transmitted by the device to the. driving machine, .s'obtained, on the one hand, by driving the pulley 15 by one or the other of the pulleys 10 and, on the other hand, by the operation of the forks 21 and 22. When stopped , the sole 5 can be moved along the shaft 6, so as to bring one of the three pulleys. 10 in the plane of the pulley 15, to cause this pulley 15 to be driven by means of the belt 13, by the pulley 10 envisaged. It is therefore possible to obtain three different speeds of the intermediate shaft 16.
This number of speeds is multiplied by the number of pairs of pulleys 17 and 19. The device described therefore makes it possible to obtain nine different drive speeds, varying for example from 40 to 70 revolutions / minute.
The pulley 9 of the motor 8 is suitable for any type of direct belt drive. The device, thanks to its rollers 2, moves easily to be brought -in the voi sinage -of the machines to be driven. By resting on the feet. 4, the frame offers good stability, which ensures its immobilization during work.
The apparatus shown in Figs. 4 and 5 -is simpler than that which has just been described, and, consequently, more economical than the latter.
It comprises a frame 35 of triangular vertical profile, which receives -in the bottom an electric motor 36 mounted on an oscillating sole articulated with the frame 35 by one of its ends, in the manner indicated for the apparatus. fig. 1 to 3.
The motor 36 drives by one of the three grooved pulleys 37 of stepped diameters mounted on its shaft and by a zoidal V-belt 38 a grooved pulley 39 provided with a starting handle. A small pulley 40 integral with the shaft carrying the pulley 39 controls by a pulley 41 the drive shaft 42 which carries a cardan joint with sleeve 42 '.
It suffices to tilt the frame 35 to bring the sleeve 42 'to the position of the shaft of the machine to be controlled. By sliding the sole -on its airbire, of articulation, one of the three pulleys 37 can be brought at will in the plane of the pulley 39, which makes it possible to drive this pulley 39 by any one of the three pulleys 37.
At 43 (FIG. 4) is a device for disengaging the motor also making it possible to adjust, by the tilting position, of the sole carrying the motor, the tension of the belt 38. This device comprises a screw abutting against the frame of the apparatus and screwed into a nut carried by a solid arm of the sole. A spring fixed at one end to the sole tends to keep the screw in contact with the frame.
The action of the weight of the motor also tends to keep this screw in contact with the frame.
