Method for fitting shoes, and machine for implementing this method. The present invention relates to a method for fitting shoes, in which the vamp is stretched over the form and the edge of the vamp is folded back under the effect of tension, directed inwards and produced by friction. , the point of application of the force tending to the slap and that of the folding tension being moved simultaneously in a gradual manner along the con tour of the bottom of the form. It is already known, in such a process, to use, in order to produce the friction resulting from the beating tension, a friction device driven by a rapid back and forth vibratory movement. This, however, has the disadvantage that the obtained drawdown tension is not continuous.
We have also proposed to use in such a process a rotating disc-shaped friction pad to produce the friction resulting in the drawdown tension. This process has the disadvantage of being impractical for fitting long-stemmed shoes, for example. Indeed, in order to have an effective frictional action, the disc must have a large diameter, for example 8 cm or more, and if a disc of this diameter can be tolerated for fitting certain types of shoes , it occupies so much space that it (re) a proper handling of shoes of the long-stem type, for example. Furthermore and at best, this type of disc shoe exerts only a weak action of friction tension.
In order to overcome these drawbacks, the process according to the present invention is characterized in that the friction resulting from the drawdown tension is produced by means of a rotating helical wiper.
The invention also includes a ma chine for implementing this method and which has members for tightening the slap on the form. This machine is characterized in that it comprises a rotating helical wiper, to produce the friction resulting in the drawdown tension.
The drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the machine according to the invention for the implementation of an embodiment, also given to < / B> by way of example, of the method according to the invention, as well as various variants of the friction pad of this embodiment of the machine.

Fig. 2 -is a horizontal section following line 2-2 of fig. 1, showing the relative positions of the two tension rollers, the wiper and the form during the assembly operation. Fig. 3 is a front view, partially cut vertically, of a part of the embodiment of the machine.
fig. 4 is a side view, on an enlarged scale, of the slider of this form of execution.
Figs. to and 6 each show a laughing variation of this friction.
In the drawing, 1 designates a hollow frame on which is mounted the frame 2, 2a on which are arranged supports for most of the workpieces On the frame 2, 2a is mounted an electric motor 5, the shade G of which carries a grooved pulley 7, entraining, by unecourrette 8, a grooved pulley 9 mounted on the shaft 106. This shaft 106 is carried by bearings of the frame 2, 2a, This frame is protruding from the front wall of the frame 1 (as shown in fig. 1) so as to present the mounting devices in a suitable position to be engaged with the cliausEure, while providing sufficient clearance between the frame 1 and the boot which is to be mounted on the form .
Next to its front bearing, the shaft 106 is fitted with a screw (not shown) which mesh with a helical toothed wheel mounted on a vertical shaft (not shown) rotating in fixed bearings and provided with a pinion which meshes with a similar pinion mounted at the upper end of a vertical shaft 112 (fig. la), mounted in bearings and provided at its lower end with a roller 113 provided on its periphery with a shaped rib. propeller. A roller 114 co operates with the roller 113, this roller 114 being of a slightly larger diameter, patit than the rcukau 113 and also provided on its perimeter with a helical-shaped rib. The lower end of the roller 114 is provided with a spherical protuberance 114a on which the insole of the shoe is applied during assembly on the form.
The helical ribs on the rollers 113 and 114 are of opposite pitch and these rollers rotate in the opposite direction in a suitable direction. The edge of the slap, placed on the form, is introduced between the two rollers which, by their rotation, exert an upward pull on the slap. The form being held by the protuberance 114a, this traction has the effect of tightening the slap on the form. By giving the roller 114 a diameter slightly more petilque that of the roller 113, it facilitates the mounting of the key on the ends of the form.
Roukau 114 is mounted at the lower end of a shaft 115, the upper end of which is a helical toothed wheel (not shown) which engages with the screw, mentioned above, carried by shaft 106 The shaft 115 is mounted in the bearing brackets by a sliding element 117a which has a horizontal extension arranged so as to slide horizontally in the guides of the frame 2, 2a and which is constantly recalled. by, springs (not shown), so that the rollers 113 and 114 ee move closer to one another.
On the other hand, the rollers can be moved apart to facilitate the introduction between them of the shoe plate, by lowering a pedal (not shown) whose movement is transmitted to the sliding element 117a, so that the lowering of the pedal moves the sliding element to the right (fig. la), and, thereby, separates the rollers 113 and 114, to facilitate the introduction between them of the edges of the vamp.
Referring to Figs. 1 and 3, the front part 2b of the frame element 2a is provided with guide brackets 120, providing a vertical slide to a sliding support 121. This part 121 is provided with a rod 12la which passes through an opening in the horizontal part 122,, a bracket 123 ;, fixed to the frame, the, rod 12la having one end screwed into a nut 124 which limits the downward movement of the support 121.
A coil spring 125, surrounding the rod 121a, pushes the support to the bottom. A its end lower the support 121 carries a bearing 126 whose axis, as shown in fig. 9, is directed in such a way that a plane passing pa, r -this axis and through # l1èI-e to the axes of -rules, ui 113 -and 114 forms a 20 'bevel with < B> the, vertical plane containing the parallel axes of shafts 112 and 113.
The axis of the bearing 126 is also inclined to the horizontal as shown in FIG. 1.
The rotary friction pad 128 (FIG. 4) is carried by the end of a shaft 127, which can rotate freely in the bearing 126. This friction pad comprises a frustoconical core 129 of circular transverse cross section having a helical rib 130 protruding from it. . The diameter of the rotary friction pad 128, of which the rib 130 is the active friction element, decreases towards its free end. As the shaft 127 is mounted in the support 121, sliding vertically, it is possible for the wiper 128 to move upwards, against the action of the spring 125, under the action of a thrust exerted by below him.
The shaft 127 is provided at its rear end with a ball 132 which is engaged in the sleeve 133 and connected to the latter so to form a universal joint which allows the shaft 127 to rotate. regardless of the position of the bearing 126. The sleeve 133 is fixed to the anterior end of the shaft 134 (fig. 1), rotating in the bearings 135 which are themselves fixed to the lower part of the shaft. frame 2, 2a, the shaft being provided with a pulley 136, driven by the belt 137 surrounding the pulley 138 poitée by the shaft of a motor 139 having a base 140, fixed on the inside face of the front wall vertical of the hollow frame 1. The motor 139 is intended to rotate the shaft 127 at high speed, for example at a speed of the order of 1800 rpm.
While the machine is running and assuming that the electric motors 5 and, 13a are supplied with current and that the shafts 106 and 134 turn in the desired direction, the operator lowers the pedal, moving the wheels away. water 113 and 114, and introduced between them the edge of the slap diGposed on the, form. It is also their possible for experienced workers to introduce the material of the slap between the rails without actuating the pedal. There, cla that is stretched over the form under the action of the rollers which exert an upward traction on the assembly, applying this assembly to coulter the friction. The helical rib 130 of the slider 128 flaps and then gradually pushes the edge of the slap inwards on the underside of the first, to the ferret, to ensure that this edge of the slap is released by the rollers.
It should be noted that, owing to the helical shape of the wiper, the folding and the application on the insole by rubbing the edge of the vamp is a progressive operation, the rib in hôlice entraining the material and pushing it. gradually inward without releasing it, so that the material has no chance of retreating and it is thus placed in a smooth and even manner against the insole of the shoe with all the tension imparted to it by the shoe. movement of the rollers 113 and 114.
It can be seen that the, machine works in such a way that the point of application of the force extending the slap and that of the folding tension move simultaneously in a gradual fashion. along the bottom contour of the shape. It is to note that the tension effect of the rollers 113 and 114 may vary within a certain range during handling of the shoe, to </ B> causes the shoe to move upwards for setting up, then forcing the base of the form to to tilt sharply to the plane of the lower ends of the rollers .
The lifting movement can even be increased to the point that the assembly can be completed by the use of rollers not provided with helical ribs. Since the wiper is in the shape of a truncated cone, very narrow at its inner end, for example a cone of the order of 1.5 cm at </ B> its widest end for a diameter of 1.0 cm at its narrowest end, it is obviously possible with this machine to mount the shoes of all kinds, even those with very high shanks, since the presence of the shoe does not interfere with easy handling of the, shoe.
Naturally, the dimensions, - of the slider can be changed as required from to those shown here. Instead of the rubbish of the fia. 4, we could provide the machine with a friction pad 128a, as shown in FIG. 5, and not having the core and comprising only a rigid propeller 130a integral with the shaft 127 by its ends. One could also use the friction pad of FIG. 6, which comprises a frustoconical core 129b provided with a helical groove 130b, instead of the protruding helical rib.
