<I>Beispiel:</I> Man löst in 300 Teilen Wasser, unter Zu satz von 30 Teilen Natriumcarbonat, 23,9 Teile 2 - Amino-5 -oxynaphthalin - 7 - sulf on- säure.
Process for the preparation of a tetrakisazo dye. It has been found that a new tetrakisazo dye can be obtained by using the diamino compound which is obtainable by saponifying the disazo dye which is itself obtainable by combining 1-diazo-4-acetylaminonaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid with 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene -7-sulfonic acid in an alkaline medium, further diazotization of the coupling product and combining with 1-aminonaphthalene,
tetrazotized and combined with 2 moles of 1,3-dioxybenzene.
The new dye forms a dark, bronzing powder that dissolves in water and concentrated sulfuric acid with a blue color. The dye dyes cotton in gray-blue tones. Post-treating the direct dyeings with formaldehyde considerably improves the wash fastness. <I> Example: </I> Dissolve in 300 parts of water, with the addition of 30 parts of sodium carbonate, 23.9 parts of 2-amino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid.
To this solution is added one which has been prepared by diazotizing 2.8.0 parts of 1-amino-4-acetaminonaphthalene-6-sulfonic acid. After several hours of stirring, the coupling mixture is neutralized with hydrochloric acid, a solution of 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite is added and 28 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid are toppled at 15.
After 1 to 11/2 hours, a solution prepared by dissolving 14.3 parts of 1-aminonaphthalene in 300 parts of water with the addition of 13 parts of 30% strength hydrochloric acid is stirred into the diazotization mixture mixed with ice that the temperature does not rise above 20 @. Then the coupling mixture is made Congo-neutral by adding 20% strength sodium acetate solution. When the coupling has ended after 30 to 40 hours, the mixture is heated to 60 and the disazo dye is filtered off.
The pressed dye is stirred up again with 1400 parts of water, heated to boiling, mixed with <B> 220 '</B> parts: 30% sodium hydroxide solution and boiled for 1 to 11/2 hours while stirring. Hydrochloric acid is then added neutralized, cooled to 15, the diaminodisazo dye solution mixed with a solution of 13.8 parts of sodium nitrite and 55 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid and stirred at 15 for 11 4 to 2 hours.
The suspension obtained in this way is stirred into a solution which contains, in 300 parts of water, 22.0 parts of 1,3-dioxybenzene and 60 parts of sodium carbonate. The mixture is stirred for a few hours at room temperature, then carefully neutralized most of the alkali metal carbonate with hydrochloric acid, salted out the dye at 60 and filtered.
