Process for the production of an azo dye. According to the process described in the main patent, an azoic substance which is readily soluble in organic solvents is obtained if an aminobutylbenzene mixture of boiling point 14 115 to 144 'is used as the diazo component, which contains o-, p- and m-amino-sec.- buty contains benzene.
As has now also been found, an azo dye which is also readily soluble in organic solvents is obtained if an amino-sec-butylbenzene mixture, such as is obtainable by condensation of primary-butyl chloride with benzene at <B> 60 ', is obtained C in the presence of aluminum chloride, nitration of the condensation product and reduction of the nitro group, dianotated, coupled with aminohydroquinone dimethyl ether, the aminoazo compound obtained further dianoed and finally combined with ß-naphthol.
<I> Example: </I> 14.9 parts of amino-sec-butylbenzene mixture bp. 14 115 to 144 ', as obtainable by condensation of primary butyl chloride with benzene at 60 in the presence of aluminum chloride, are dianotated , Nitration of the condensation product and reduction of the nitro group, mixes the diazo solution with a solution of 15,
3 parts of amino-hydroquinone dimethyl ether in 200 parts by volume of n / 2 hydrochloric acid and slowly leaves an aqueous solution of 42 parts of crystalline. Sodium acetate. After the coupling has ended, the excreted monoazo dye is sucked off and washed neutral.
For further diazotization, the monoazo dye is stirred with 54 parts by volume of hydrochloric acid 12 'B6 and hot water, ice is added and dianotized at 5 to 10' with 6.9 parts of sodium nitrite. This diazo solution is allowed to run into an aqueous solution of 14.4 parts of ss-naphthol and 9 parts of caustic soda and a dye is obtained which easily dissolves in organic solvents with a blue-violet color.
