Process for the preparation of an azo dye. It has been found that substantial azo dyes can be obtained if aminoaroyl-m- or -p-arylenediamines are tetrazotized with one mole of an aromatic o-oxycarboxylic acid,
such as salicylic or o-cresotic acid and the thus obtainable diazo azo compound with 1 mole of an N-substituted amirionaphtholsulfonic acid, such as.
B. N-alkyl, N-aryl, N-aralkyl derivatives of 2-amino-5-naphthol-7-sulfonic acid, or with 1 mole of a 1-aryl-5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid or their derivatives , such as carboxylic acid esters, amides or arylamides, couples. The 1-aryl nucleus of the pyrazolone can be substituted as desired, e.g.
B. by Cl, CHs, SOsN and the like, or by NH2; in the latter case, further diazotizable dyes are obtained in substance and on the fiber. The nuances of the new dyes range from yellow to red. The colorations achieved are characterized by the fact that they can be very easily etched in a neutral and alkaline manner.
The present patent relates to a process for the production of an azo dye. It is characterized in that 1 mol of m-aminobenzoyl-p-phenylenediamine is tetrazotized, combined with 1 mol of salicylic acid and then with 1 mol of 1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid. The dye obtained gives cotton a yellowish orange color.
The coloration is very lightfast and can be etched very well in a neutral and alkaline way.
Example: 22.7 parts of m-aminobenzoyl-p-phenylenediamine are tetrazotized with 13.8 parts of sodium nitrite at 0 in a solution of 1400 parts of water and 56 parts of tenfold normal hydrochloric acid. A solution of 13.8 parts of salicylic acid and 56 parts of soda in 100 parts of water is collapsed into the diazo solution. After stirring for about 12 hours, a thick, yellow paste has formed and no more salicylic acid can be detected.
For this purpose, a solution of 21 parts of 1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid and 11 parts of soda in 50 parts of water is now run. The final coupling ends very quickly. The dye he holds dyes cotton with a yellowish orange. The coloring is very lightfast and can be etched very well in a neutral and alkaline way.
