Device for supplying bars to be machined to a watchmaking machine tool The present invention relates to a device for supplying bars to be machined to a watchmaking machine tool, comprising at least one guide in which the bar to be machined is engaged. , a pusher formed in its greatest extent by a flexible element used to move the bar axially, and actuated by at least two rollers, at least one of which is a motor.
Among the machine tools to which such a device can be applied, we find multi-spindle lathes, automatic lathes with fixed headstock and those with sliding headstock. In the first two cases, the bar is only driven in rotation in the field of the tools of the machine; in the third, it is rotated and axially back and forth.
The known devices, after having served only to advance the bars and. in the case where they were applied to sliding headstock lathes, to keep them in position during the opening phases of the headstock clamp, have been perfected so as to allow them to remove the remains which have become unusable from these bars towards the rear of the machine, beyond a bar magazine to be machined, where they are eliminated, whereas previously they were expelled by the new bar, when it approached the tools of the machine .
Among the means used to bring the bars into the field of the tools, one is known which acts on these bars by means of a flexible cable. The bar, which must be machined, is housed in a tubular member. Only its advance in the direction of the tools is controlled by the cable, which can be moved in both directions. To advance the bar to be machined, the front end of the cable is introduced into the tubular member guiding the bar through the end of this member opposite the headstock. The rest of the cable is stored on a drum.
The means making it possible to actuate this cable are constituted, on the one hand, by a motor which moves the cable back by driving said drum in the direction of winding of the cable, and, on the other hand, by at least two rollers that move it forward. These rollers are arranged on either side of the cable which they enclose. One of these rollers is a motor. It is subjected for this purpose to the action of a motor tending to make it turn in a direction determining the advance of the cable in the direction of the tools of the lathe. The other roller is pressed against the first.
This known device has several drawbacks. The rollers, which keep the cable constantly pressed against the bar with sufficient force to prevent it from moving back with the headstock at the end of the machining cycles, do not allow the material to move back together with the headstock during machining cycles, when it would be necessary to perform certain operations on the part being machined. This drawback is particularly noticeable in the case of bars of small diameter and of a certain length. It has also been observed that the fact of storing a cable on a drum, in addition to the additional force that this requires to unwind the cable, rapidly diminishes the qualities of the latter and renders it unfit for its function.
On the other hand, the oil being deposited on the cable - which is very exposed to this type of accident - reduces the friction of the rollers and causes damage to the correct operation of the feed device. Another drawback of the known positive device lies in the fatigue of the spring ensuring the pressure of the rollers on the cable.
The deficiencies observed are such that it has been sought to remedy them by replacing the rollers with a toothed wheel and the flexible cable with a perforated tape. This does not, however, eliminate the drawbacks noted with regard to the backing movements of the headstock during the work cycles. In both cases, it is not more successful in eliminating the necessary coupling member between the bar and the cable, which must still always be provided at one end of the bar. Finally, the known device still has the drawback of using two different means - a motor and a counterweight - to move the cable in both directions.
Roller devices are also known which act directly on the material being machined, generally consisting of tubes.
Besides the fact that these devices cannot be applied in machines where the material is rotated, they do not lend themselves to machining cycles, the duration of which is one or two seconds. In addition, their torque cannot be changed quickly.
The aim of the present invention is to create a device free from the aforementioned drawbacks.
The device according to the invention is characterized by the fact that said motorized roller is driven by motor means with reversible direction of rotation, at variable speed and torque, which can be adjusted independently of one another.
The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, one embodiment of the device according to the invention. Fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof with certain parts in section; fig. 2 a partial plan view, and FIG. 3 another elevation view.
All this feeder is mounted on an I-beam installed on adjustable feet, in the posterior extension of the frame of the machine tool which, for example, can be an automatic lathe, where slides a headstock whose hollow rotating spindle is provided with bar clamping means. I1 will only be shown and cited the elements necessary for the exposition of the invention.
Between said doll and a station for replacing the material bar in the pusher is located a magazine of at least one, but preferably several tubes 2.
The two rollers for advancing the bar pusher are arranged after this station.
This consists, fig. 1, in two pivoting arms 3.3 'provided with jaws 4.4' pivoted to a spindle 5 which the roller 6 which it carries moves longitudinally by sliding in the groove of a cam 7 mounted on an auxiliary camshaft belonging to to the mothership. The jaws are closed by the effect of two protuberances 8,8 ′ that the rollers 9,9 ′ encounter during their axial displacement. The rest of the bar removed from the headstock is torn from the clamp 10, from the pusher 11 immobilized by a latch 12, and removed by gravity; following which a new bar is introduced into said clamp to be pushed towards the tools of the machine tool.
The pusher 11 is, in the withdrawn position, housed in a sleeve 13 sliding in a fixed sleeve 14 over a limited path, forward by the support of the storage tubes 2, and back by a stop 14 ′ driven from said sleeve . The purpose of this movement is to ensure the store against any accidental pivoting movement, by entering an open cell at the end of the tubes and, in addition, guiding the cable 11 '. This one, fig. III, has a length determined to bring the clamp 10 of the pusher with the posterior end of the bar, to behind the clamp of the doll.
When the movement is reversed, on return, its rear end disappears in a sheath 5 'fixed to the beam 1, after having passed through the field of a presence detector. Towards the rear, said cable, leaving the sleeve 13 enveloped by the sleeve 14, passes through a drive member consisting of two rollers with semi-circular grooves. One of these 15 is wedged on the shaft of a motor 16 with reversible direction of rotation, with variable and adjustable torque and speed. The position of the motor is fixed, in the example described, without this arrangement having a limiting nature. The other roller 17 is mounted on one end of a lever arm 18 pivoting with its pivot 19 in a support fixed to the beam 1.
At the other end of this arm are attached a ball-joint sleeve 20 screwed onto the rod 21 of an electromagnet 22, and a screw-threaded rod 23 provided with an adjusting nut 24 locked by a lock nut 25, which nut abuts, when the rollers are working, on a stop 26 fixed, in the example, to the beam 1. This rod is guided by a support 27 which is supported by a return spring 28, the tension of which is adjustable by nut and locknut 29.30. At the end of the bar feeder beam, the cable passes through the semi-circular groove 31 open in one face of an insulating material box 32 whose transparent cover is pierced with holes 33, for the passage of the probe 34 of the presence detector 35 mounted on an adjustable support 36 fixed at 37 in a box. The index 38 designates a conductive wire.
The operation of the device described can be summed up, for a bar change, in that when the bar has been entirely shaped by the tools of the machine tool, its rear end introduced into the pliers of the plunger fixed to the front part of a Rolled steel wire cable, Bowden type having arrived at the stern clamp, the rear end of this cable leaves the field of the sensor of the presence detector mounted at the rear of the bar feeder. This output initiates the helm change operations.
The headstock of the machine being immobilized longitudinally, its clamp being or green, the cable driven at high speed back by the control rollers, withdraws the remainder of unused bar, up to the bar changing station. The sleeve-lock engaged in a cell of the bar magazine is withdrawn by the pusher which, having arrived in the completely withdrawn position, is locked. The cable is released from the action of the rollers. The device for removing the rest of the bar is engaged. It eliminates this residue which disappears by gravity from the space opened by the retreat of said sleeve-lock.
A new bar is brought into the machining position in the extension of the headstock shaft where it is gripped by the pulling device which, by moving back, introduces it into the pliers of the pusher. Consequently, the lock of the pous evening being withdrawn, the roller-holder motor is put back into action. The second roller is caused to wedge the cable between it and the first, from where, the bar is quickly transported near the tool of the machine operating as a longitudinal stop, then by modification of the speed and the power to the engine , pressed very gently against this tool. While advancing, the pusher has driven the sleeve-lock which, engaged in the magazine, acts as a guide for the cable.
The machine is switched on again and the shaping of a new series of parts begins.
It is noted in a characteristic way that by the invention, the operation of changing and automatically refueling a machine tool with bars is carried out by a simplified device limited to a single propelling and retracting means of the driving mobile. bars, moved by a single motor with multiple functions. One end of said mobile is controlled by the probe of a presence detector, the other being linked to an axial rotary means of contact with the bar.
This mobile passes between at least two drive rollers, one of which is integral with the drive motor shaft, the other only coming into contact with said mobile to cause its displacement or stabilization as soon as the bar is no longer driven by the clamp of the headstock of my china tool.
