Description

Bieyelette lighthouse. The object of the invention is a bicycle headlight comprising a support on which the reflector and the light source can take at least two positions corresponding to two directions of the light beam, characterized in that it comprises a Bowden cable maneuvering at by means of a lever attached to the handlebars of the bicycle to give the light beam the desired direction.

The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof, and FIG. 2 a plan view, respectively in section along the line II-II of FIG. 1.

The two flanges 1 and 2 serve for fixing the device to a tube of the frame of the bicycle. At their free ends, they are joined by a bolt 3 on which the support 4 integral with the lantern 5 can oscillate. The bolt 3 also carries a lock 6 having a slot 7, into which penetrates a locking screw 8 screwed into the flange. 1. A tooth 9 of the lock serves as a stop for the support 4 by limiting the elevation of the lantern. A spiral spring 10, wound around the bolt 3 and pressing against the lantern on the one hand, and against the flanges 1 and 2 on the other hand, tends to raise the lantern as much as possible. By serving.la screw 8, the lock 6 is immobilized, thus making it possible to adapt the position of the lantern to the inclination of the frame of the bicycle.

The support 4 carries a button 11 to which is fixed the inner cable 12 'of a so-called "Bowden" cable 12, the outer casing 12 "of which is fixed to the flange 2 by means of a collar 13. From the on the other hand, the casing is integral with a box 14 which can be fixed to the handlebars by means of a clamp 15. The corresponding end of the cable 12 'passes through a hole in the box 14 and is fixed in a slot of a pulley 16 which can be rotated in the box around an axis 17 by making the handle 18 integral with said pulley oscillate. This handle passes through a slot 14 'in the box. The device is operated. Very simple By turning the handle 18, the cable 12 'winds on the pulley 16 and tilts the lantern 5 forward.

When this lever is released again, the spring 10 lifts the lantern by pulling the cable 12 'and rotating the pulley 16 backwards.

In this way, it is very easy to lower the light beam when crossing the road, without forcing you to let go of the handlebars.
