Description

Lantern holder for bicycles. The object of the present invention is a bicycle lantern holder which allows the lantern to be moved by a certain angle to adjust the direction of the light beam not only for the purpose of adapting this direction to the inclination of the frame of the vehicle. ma chine, but also to direct said beam by a simple movement of the hand, sometimes in the direction of travel, sometimes on the ground directly in front of the bicycle.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.

Figs. 1 and 3 are views in elevation of one, respectively of the other embodiment of the lantern holder according to the invention; Figures 2 and 4 are plan views of these two embodiments.

In fig. 1 and 2, 1 designates two pieces of assembly with each other to form on one end a clamp for a tube and on the other one of the parts of a joint, one of which is bolt 6 forms the axis and on which is held a support having a fork 5 and integral with the lantern 4. The bolt also carries a lock 7 having two arms 8 and 10. The first is bent and penetrates between the teeth of the fork 5. The other carries a locking screw 11 entering a slot 12 made in one of the flanges 1. By tightening this screw, the lock 7 is immobilized. This device makes it possible to adapt the position of the lantern to the inclined sound of the bicycle frame.

The interval 9 between the teeth of the fork 5 being greater than the width of the arm 8, it is possible, by a simple movement of the hand, to change the inclination of the lantern and to project its beam directly in front of you, in direction of travel or send this beam to the ground, straight in front of the machine.

The second embodiment idu lantern holder according to the invention enables the same maneuver to be performed. The slot 12 is provided here in the arm 10 of the lock 7, while the. screw 11 is screwed into one of the flanges 1. In all the figures, the analogous members are designated by the same reference signs.
