Description

Orthogonal assembly connection for tubular construction elements. To take account of any deformations that the elements of tubular constructions could undergo, deformations that may arise both during manufacture and during their transport or storage, it is necessary that the assembly members can exert a clamping effective on these elements, in order to avoid any slippage of one tube relative to the other.

To meet this requirement, the object of the present invention is an orthogonal assembly connector for tubular building elements, comprising a median body having two semi-cylindrical shells opposite back to back and the axes of which are offset. 90 ', each provided with a removable cover forming a clamp which completes the cylindrical bore of the shells of the median body.

This connection is characterized in that the shells and the covers which are intended to grip the tubular elements are provided on their inner surface intended to come into contact with the. periphery of the tubes, with parallel striations, oriented perpendicularly to the axis of the respective tubular element, on which they are intended to be applied.

The appended drawing represents, in a schematic manner, an embodiment of an assembly connector according to the invention, given by way of example.

Fig. 1 is a front elevation.

Fig. 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1. FIG. 'to is a side view of the connector of FIG. 1.

Fig. 4 is a plan view of FIG. 3. Fig. 5 shows a vertical section along the line V-V of FIG. 3.

Fig. 6 is a plan view of FIG. 5 with the bonnet raised and the fixing bolt folded back into its rest position.

The connector shown in these figures is intended to connect and fix at the point of orthogonal crossing, two tubular building elements 1 and 2. It comprises a median body forming two semi-cylindrical shells or cups 3 and 4 with offset axes. 90, each provided with a cover 5 respectively 6, acting as a clamp.

The shells as well as the lids are provided with a serrated cylindrical bore, that is to say that they bear on their inner surface a number of parallel ridges 11, of annular shape oriented in the direction perpendicular to the the axis of the tube on which the shell is mounted.

The lids are retained on the median body. on one side by chains 7, respectively 8 and on the other side by pivoting bolts 9, respectively 10, which makes it possible to form two bearings which are adjusted by clamping on the tubes 1 and 2, while allowing easy disassembly without running the risk of losing the bolts.

Once the connection is in place on the: two elements: tubular, which it must join together, the bolts 9 and 10 are tightened so that the grooves 11 cling to the surface of the tubes. This effective clamping prevents any sliding or longitudinal displacement of one element relative to the other.

The parallel striations 11 are in the form of comb teeth projecting from the bore of the shells and covers; they; could also be cut, for example, in the form of isolated teeth arranged in parallel rows or in the trement, on condition that the walls of the tubular elements are not damaged.
