Les câbles Il et 12 sont, d'autre part, fixés à un tambour 15 adapté à pivotement à un axe 17 rendu solidaire du cadre 18 à l'aide d'une bride19, ce tambour 15 est placé dans un boîtier 16 et comporte trois rainures 20, 21 et 22; dans cette dernière, par l'inter médiaire d'une vis 23 est serrée l'extrémité du câble 11, une vis 24 maintient dans la rainure 21 l'extrémité du câble 12-, en outre, des vis 25 et 26 fixent dans la rainure 20 les tronçons de câbles 27 et 28 reliés, d'autre part, à, un élément mobile 29 d'un frein sur jante; celui-ci comporte deux leviers30 et 31, pivotés respectivement à des supports 32 et 33 fixés par l'intermédiaire de brides à la fourche 34;
Dual control brake device for cycles. The present invention relates to a dual-control brake device for cycles, characterized in that it comprises two cables, on the one hand, hooked to a pulley so as to wind with the latter one in one. direction and the other in the other direction of rotation of said pulley, which is intended to be actuated by means of a lever and, on the other hand, attached to a drum adapted to pivot on an axis integral with the frame of the cycle mentioned above, this drum being furthermore connected by means of two cable sections with a movable element of a brake, the displacement of which ensures the operation of the latter, the whole being carried out so that, when the lever is moved on either side of a middle position,
it actuates said pulley on which one of the two cables is wound so as to drive the drum rotatably, which pulls on one of the cable sections, which ensures the displacement of the mobile element and brake operation. The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof; Fig. 2 is a front view of the movable element of a rim brake; Fig. 3 is a plan view of the housing in which the pulley is placed; Fig. 4 is a sectional view along 1-1 of the housing of FIG. 3; Fig. 5 is a plan view of the housing in which the drum comprising three grooves is fitted, and FIG. 6 is a side view of the housing of FIG. 5.
The brake device shown, more especially intended for a bicycle, com door, fixed to a; handlebar 1 by means of a connecting collar 2, and of the flange 3, a casing 4 in which, on a pivot 5 is fitted a pulley 6 fitted with a lever 7 and a groove 8. This pulley 6 is fitted with fixed respectively, using screws 9 and 10, one of the ends of cables 11 and 12, which, when the lever 7 is pivoted, can move in the holes 13 and 14 made in the housing 4.
The cables II and 12 are, on the other hand, fixed to a drum 15 adapted to pivot to an axis 17 made integral with the frame 18 by means of a flange 19, this drum 15 is placed in a housing 16 and has three grooves 20, 21 and 22; in the latter, by means of a screw 23 is tightened the end of the cable 11, a screw 24 maintains in the groove 21 the end of the cable 12-, in addition, screws 25 and 26 fix in the groove 20 the cable sections 27 and 28 connected, on the other hand, to a movable element 29 of a rim brake; this comprises two levers 30 and 31, respectively pivoted to supports 32 and 33 fixed by means of clamps to the fork 34;
the ends 35 and 36 of these levers are each provided with a brake shoe, while their ends 37 and 38 are articulated to corresponding rods 39 and 40 adapted to pivot to a rod 47 secured to the movable element 29.
