Les fig. 1 et 2 en sont une coupe verti cale axiale et une vue par derrière après enlèvement de certaines parties; Les fig. 3 et 4 sont des vues de détail. L'appareil représenté comporte une enve loppe fixe1 en tôle,de forme ogivale, cons tituant le corps qui est mentionné dans l'introduction, présentant un rebord intérieur 6 et ferméeà sa partie antérieure par une lunette pivotante 2 maintenue en place par une vis3 et renfermant une glace 4;
Lighting apparatus for vehicles. The object of the invention is a lighting device for vehicles, for example a motor vehicle headlight.
It is characterized by the fact that a light source and a reflector that it comprises are mounted in a fixed body so to can be moved simultaneously with respect to to that- here, in order that the bundle. light can be sent in various directions.
The appended drawing represents, by by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus, established so that the light beam which leaves therefrom can be directed horizontally downwards to right or to left.
Figs. 1 and 2 are an axial vertical section and a view from behind after parts have been removed; Figs. 3 and 4 are detail views. The apparatus represented comprises a fixed casing 1 made of sheet metal, of ogival shape, constituting the body which is mentioned in the introduction, having an inner rim 6 and closed at its front part by a pivoting bezel 2 held in place by a screw 3 and enclosing a lens 4;
it is supported by a fixed metal tube 5. In a removable ring 7 are mounted two vertical pivots 70 on which rotates a curved vertical elongated part 10. This same ring 7 is integral with a metal sheath Il located inside the inside of the part 10 and having to roughly the shape of a spherical zone.
On the rear face of the central part 12 of the part 10 small slide a carriage 13 carrying an electric lamp 14. It is guided by edges 71 which it presents and which embrace the edges of this central part 12; it can move from bottom to top under the action of a Bowden cable 16 fixed at its upper end and whose sheath 16 is subject in 17 to part 10, from top to bottom under the action of a hooked spring 18 to him and to : this piece 10 in 19; its run down under the action of spring 18 is limited by the encounter (the two stops 7s to part 12.
As for the horizontal pivoting of the part 10 around the vertical axes 70, this is obtained by means of two Bowden cables 20, 21 which are fixed to part 10 at 22, 23 and whose sheaths 24, 25 are secured at 26, 27 to the sheath 11. These cables are connected to the steering device of the vehicle so as to communicate to the room 10 similar movements < B> to those transmitted to the front wheels; they are combined in such a way that, when one of them exerts a traction on the carriage 13, the other yields as much.
In the carriage 13 is provided a circular opening 28 through which passes a socket 29 in which the electric lamp 24 is held by a fixing with bayonet 30. Around the socket 29 is a spring with coil 31 taking support, on the one hand, on the carriage 13, on the other hand, on a split ring 32 housed in a groove 38 of the sleeve, which is thus pushed from front to rear . The latter is provided with a finger 33. passing between two jaws - 35 of the carriage 13, normally preventing it from turning in relation to to this one ,. that is, when it is in place in the device.
One of the terminals of the lamp is to the ground of the device and the other is connected to an isolated terminal 36 of the finger 34.
The socket 29 carries the parabolic reflector 37 made of sheet metal, provided on its free edge with a reinforcing 38 flap and on its face rear housing 39 where there are 40 balls rolling on the sheath 11.
The adjustment of the position of the lamp 14 relative to the reflector 37 takes place by la sliding axially in the socket 29 in a manner that the drawing does not show by screw 41.
The operation of this form of execution is as follows: In normal times the carriage 13, the lamp 14, the reflector 37 occupy the positions shown in FIGS. 1 and 2; the light beam supplied is substantially horizontal and illuminates the road in the distance, in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. If the latter to rotate, the cables 20, 21, connected to the steering device, also cause the part 10 to rotate horizontally with carriage 13, the socket 29, the reflector 37 in the desired direction; the beam illuminates the road in the distance in the direction the vehicle is turning.
When finally the driver crosses another vehicle, a pedestrian, he acts on the cable 15 and causes the carriage 13 to move up and down on the part 10, despite the resistance of the spring 18, so that the light beam is directed downwards, reaches the ground close near the vehicle and does not not dazzle the driver of the other vehicle, the pedestrian.
As can be seen from the drawing, the two movements can take place simultaneously, resulting in side lighting reaching the ground in close proximity to the vehicle.
By opening the telescope 2, you can remove everything that is in the casing 1 and, by removing only the split ring 32 , separate the socket 29 , the lamp 14 and the reflector 37 of the carriage 13, as well as the latter of the part 10.
On the other hand, it is easy to transform a standard commercial headlight into the device shown and described. For this, it suffices to cut the usual reflector at the top which constitutes the sheath 11, to mount the pivots 70 and to place the part on them. 10 with what it has to wear, the reflector 37 being chosen so as to fit into the sheath 11. L The exterior appearance of the converted lighthouse remains the same.
The bearing of the reflector 37 on the sheath can take place by means of members other than balls. The number of these organs can vary.
If desired, we can limit the movements of. there, source 14 and of the reflector 37 either to horizontal movements, or < B> to vertical displacements.
Horizontal movements, instead of being produced automatically by the steering device, can be controlled at will by the driver by by hand, by foot, independently of the management system.
These various movements can be produced electrically, by liquid under pressure, etc.
