Abstract
Méthode pour étiqueter des objets, comme des produits industriels, des objets d'art, des antiquités, des titres et des polluants environnementaux, ainsi que des matières biologiques, comme les organismes vivants et les virus. La méthode consiste à ajouter au moins deux étiquettes chimiques à l'objet. L'information enchâssée dans la première étiquette n'est pas divulguée au public; elle renferme des données qui peuvent être amplifiées par amplification moléculaire (PCR) et qui spécifient l'identité et (ou) l'origine de l'objet. La seconde étiquette indique la présence de la première et est facilement décelable. L'invention présente également des objets étiquetés et une méthode pour déterminer l'identité et (ou) l'origine des objets étiquetés. Il est préférable que les étiquettes chimiques renferment l'information sous forme de code alphanumérique, et qu'elles soient des fragements d'acide nucléique, comme l'ADN ou l'ARN.
