Abstract

SóIS à BASE DE SìLICA E SUA PRODUçãO E USO. A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para produzir um sol aquoso à base de sílica, cujo processo compreende: (a) prover uma resina catiónica trocadora de íons, tendo pelo menos parte de sua capacidade de troca de íons na forma de hidrogênio; (b) colocar a dita resina trocadora de íons em contato com um silicato aquoso de metal alcalino, de modo a formar uma pasta fluida aquosa; (c) agitar a dita pasta fluida aquosa até que o pH da fase aquosa se situe na faixa de 5,0 a 8, 0; (d) ajustar o pH da dita fase aquosa para um valor acima de 9, 0; e (e) separar a dita resina trocadora de íons da fase aquosa, após a etapa (c) ou após a etapa (d). A invenção se refere ainda a um sol à base de sílica, que pode ser obtido através do mencionado processo, assim como a um processo para a produção de papel, compreendendo as etapas seguintes: (i) provisão de uma suspensão aquosa compreendendo fibras celulósicas; (ii) adição à suspensão aquosa de um ou mais agentes auxiliares de drenagem e retenção compreendendo um sol à base de sílica de acordo com a invenção; e (iii) desidratação da suspensão obtida para proporcionar uma folha ou tecido de papel.
