Abstract

"COMPOSIçõES PROTéICAS E GêNICAS INSETICIDAS SECRETADAS A PARTIR DE BACILLUS THURINGIENSIS E SEUS USOS". A presente invenção refere-se ao isolamento e caracterização de seqüências de nucleotídeos que codificam proteínas inseticidas inusitadas, secretadas dentro do espaço extracelular de Bacillus thuringiensis e cepas afins. As proteínas são isoladas a partir dos sobrenadantes de culturas de Bacílius thuringiensis e cepas afins, e apresentam atividade inseticida contra insetos lepidópteros, incluindo a broca de milho europeu (ECB), a larva do broto de tabaco (TBW) e a mariposa do dorso losângico (DBM). As proteínas inseticidas codificadas pelas seqüências de nucleotídeos que hibridizam sob condições severas para seqüências de nucleotídeos isoladas e caracterizadas estão descritas. Estão descritos métodos para produzir e usar células e plantas transgênicas, compreendendo as seqüências de nucleotídeos inusitadas.
