Abstract

"PROTEìNAS INSETICIDAS SECRETADAS POR ESPéCIES BACILLUS E USO DESSAS PROTEìNAS". A presente invenção refere-se ao isolamento e caracterização de seqüências de nucleotídeos que codificam novas proteínas inseticidas secretadas no espaço extracelular de Bacillus thuringiensis e cepas relacionadas. As proteínas são isoladas de sobrenadantes de cultura de Bacillus thuringiensis e cepas relacionadas e exibem atividade inseticida contra insetos coleópteros, incluindo besouro-da-batata (Lymantria dispar) e larva da raiz de milho Southern (Diabrotica undecempunctata). São descritas proteínas inseticidas codificadas por seqüências de nucleotídeos que hibridizam com as seqüências de nucleotídeos isoladas e caracterizadas. Também descritos são métodos de produção e uso de células e plantas transgênicas que compreendem as novas seqüências de nucleotídeos da invenção.
