Abstract

é fornecido um aparelho para produzir micropartículas poliméricas sólidas, o aparelho compreendendo uma pluralidade de geradores de gotículas de líquido para formar gotículas de líquido de um primeiro líquido e um bocal para formar um jato de um segundo líquido, em que a pluralidade de geradores de gotículas de líquido e o bocal estão dispostos um em relação ao outro, de modo que, em uso, gotículas de líquido da pluralidade de geradores de gotículas de líquido passam através de um gás para o referido jato do segundo líquido. também é fornecido um processo para produzir micropartículas sólidas, o processo compreendendo: fornecer um primeiro líquido compreendendo um soluto e um solvente, o soluto compreendendo um polímero biocompatível, a concentração do polímero no primeiro líquido sendo ao menos 10% p/v, ?p? sendo o peso do polímero e ?v? sendo o volume do solvente, fornecer uma pluralidade de geradores de gotículas de líquidos, operável para gerar gotículas de líquido, fornecer um jato de um segundo líquido, fazer com que a pluralidade de geradores de gotículas de líquidos forme gotículas de líquido do primeiro líquido, passar as gotículas de líquido através de um gás para entrar em contato com o jato do segundo líquido de modo a fazer com que o solvente saia das gotículas, formando assim micropartículas sólidas, a solubilidade do solvente no segundo líquido sendo ao menos 5g de solvente por 100ml do segundo líquido, o solvente sendo substancialmente miscível com o segundo líquido.
