Abstract

PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR ÁLCOOIS GRAXOS A PARTIR DE ÁCIDOS GRAXOS. Um processo para a produção de álcool graxo ou álcoois graxos que compreendem: submeter um ácido graxo ou uma mistura de ácidos graxos a esterificação com um alcanol inferior em um reator de esterificação mantido sob condições de esterificação para formar uma corrente que compreende o correspondente éster de alquil inferior ou os correspondentes ésteres de alquil inferior; vaporizar a corrente da etapa (a); submeter a corrente vaporizada da etapa (b) à hidrogenação em uma primeira zona de hidrogenação operada sob condições de hidrogenação para formar uma corrente que compreende álcool graxo ou álcoois graxos e uma quantidade de éster de alquil inferior ou ésteres de alquil inferior não convertidos; submeter a corrente da etapa (c) à transesterificação em um reator de éster de cera mantido sob condições de transesterificação na presença de um catalisador de transesterificação sólido desta forma para converter pelo menos uma porção do éster de ácido graxo de alquil inferior pela troca de éster com uma quantidade correspondente de álcool graxo ou álcoois graxos para alcanol inferior e para um éster de cera ou ésteres de cera derivados a partir do álcool graxo e um ácido graxo; separar o álcool graxo ou os álcoois graxos e éster de cera ou ésteres de cera da etapa (d) pela destilação para produzir um álcool graxo ou produto de álcoois e uma corrente que compreende éster de cera ou ésteres de cera; passar a dita compreende que compreende o éster de cera ou ésteres de cera para uma segunda zona de hidrogenação que opera sob as condições para efetuar a hidrogenação na fase líquida para reverter o éster de cera ou ésteres de cera para álcool graxo ou álcoois graxos; e retornar o álcool graxo ou álcoois graxos para a etapa de separação (e).
