Abstract

SISTEMA DE REDUÇÃO CATALÍTICA SELETIVA PARA CAPTURA DE COMPOSTOS VOLATILIZADOS Trata-se de um aparelho e método para tratar gases de escape de motores a diesel. O sistema consiste em duas funcionalidades, a primeira sendo um sistema catalisador de redução catalítica seletiva (SCR) e a segunda sendo um material de captura que serve para capturar componentes catalisadores que tenham uma volatilidade notável sob condições extremas de exposição. O componente de catalisador de SCR tipicamente se baseia em uma fase majoritária de titânia, com componentes catalisadores de fase minoritária adicionados que compreendem um ou mais entre óxidos de grande área superficial, como titânia estabilizada com sílica, alumina, ou alumina estabilizada, por exemplo, sendo que o material de captura mantém uma baixa cobertura de monocamada fracionária total de óxidos de fase minotária ao longo da duração da exposição extrema. O método envolve o tratamento de fluxos de escape quentes tanto pelo material catalisador como pelo material de captura, sendo que o material de captura pode estar em uma mistura com o material catalisador, ou pode estar localizado a jusante do mesmo, ou ambos, mas ainda ser mantido em temperaturas extremas.
