Abstract

Du soufre est vaporisé (en 70) sous pression d'environ 0,1 MPa puis surchauffé à au moins 688 degrés C pendant son transit par un espace confiné tel qu'un conduit de transfert (81) débouche de l'espace confiné (71) dans une zone de réaction (24) sous forme de gaz cohérent qui résiste à la diffusion dans l'espace libre de la zone (24). Cette forme cohérente de soufre gazeux a une couleur violet rougeatre foncé. Du fait qu'il résiste à la diffusion dans ledit espace libre, ce soufre s'écoule au contact concentré de la surface de matière solide et y reste concentré en produisant une réaction gaz-solide dont la vitesse est grandement améliorée. Application à la récupération du soufre du gypse résiduaire, sous forme de SO2.
