<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Manhole shutter system" The present invention relates to a manhole shutter system, established with the aid of frames which border the opening in the ground, and the cover. The shuttering systems for manholes, known to date, made of cast iron, have recently been replaced; on account of their apparent character, by shuttering systems essentially made of a material identical to that which constitutes the floor, the orifice being however bordered by a frame frame made of sheet steel, while a sheet steel cover frame surrounds the cover.
These shutter systems for manholes can either include a removable cover, which fits freely into the opening, possibly with the interposition of sealing gaskets, or constitute hermetic or watertight shutter systems, where the cover is fixed to the frame by means of screws and which always have a gasket element between the cover frame and the frame frame.
The shuttering systems for manholes must be mounted so that they are exactly flush, i.e. the cover and the frame must be in the same plane, in order to avoid tripping over by people who engage. on the surface as well

formed.
In recent shutter systems known to re- garda, which comprise frames of relatively thin steel tell, from about 3 to% mm, provided with an anti-rust coating applied by brush or by galvanization. most often after a short period of time that the system has been exposed to traffic, the protective layer is found to have worn off at the top edge of the frames and the frames begin to rust.
In addition, moisture seeps between the chassis and the floor or the chassis and the cover, so that corrosion pits form between the floor covering and the edge of the chassis, resulting in , on the one hand, visible rust spots and, on the other hand, destruction of the floor covering and that of the chassis.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the drawbacks described above. To this end, it suggests establishing a shuttering system for manholes of the kind described above, in such a way that the frame of the frame and the frame of the cover each consist of two elements, namely, a border and a lower frame member, at least the edges being made of a stainless material. This now avoids, with a low consumption of material, any corrosion and, consequently, any deterioration of the floor covering. In addition, the bipartite constitution of the frames promotes the exact flatness of the manhole cover system.
According to another suggestion of the invention, the lower element of the frame and the border are joined together removably, at least in one of the frames, so as to allow a modification of the height position. of the border. whether it is the frame, the surround or the cover, or both, a precise adjustment can be made at the installation site.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In order to be able to make the borders as thin as possible, on the one hand, for appearance considerations and, on the other hand, for reasons of an economic nature, the invention further proposes to provide these edges of rai- dissage moldings. The frame of the frame may be provided with a raised edge, which rests on the frame of the cover. In addition to easy positioning, a sufficiently precise fitting of the cover into the frame is thus achieved, the precision of which can be further increased, as indicated above, by virtue of the adjustable mounting of the edges.
Finally, it is possible to form in the sheet metal itself the edges of the anchors for the fixing thereof, anchors which also make it possible to give the edges a particularly reduced thickness and which can complete the effect of the moldings. stiffening.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention will be described below in detail, with reference to the accompanying drawings. In these drawings
Rod 1 is a plan view of a manhole closure system according to the invention.
The rod 2 is a sectional view along the line II of FIG. 1, on a larger scale.
The manhole or well 1 is closed by a cover 2 consisting of a cover frame 3 made of sheet steel, combined with reinforcing bars 4 and 5 and containing a concrete filling 6. The concrete mass 6 supports an equalizing layer 7 and a floor covering 8. The frame consists of a frame frame 9, held with anchors 10 in the bottom concrete 11 of the manhole or the floor. Here also, the bottom concrete of the ground carries an equalizing layer 7 and the coating 8 of the ground.
The cover is joined to the viewing window by clamping via 12 and screwing and removing cams 13.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
To the frames 3 and 9 are fixed, by means of via or rivet, by welding or in any other way which is not the subject of the invention, edges 14 and 15. Between the frame frame 9 and edge 15 is shown a spot weld joint 16, while between the frame 3 of the cover and the edge 14 is provided a screw fixing, constituted by a screw 17. a plate insert 18 and a nut 19. the via passing here through a buttonhole 20, which makes it possible to modify the position of the border with respect to the frame.
The edges 14 and 15 are provided with stiffening moldings 21 and 22, the action of which can be further reinforced by anchors 23.
The tightening screws 12 can be screwed into cap nuts 24, embedded in the concrete of the manhole. A seal 25 can be provided, which will, for example, be traversed by the clamping screws 12.
The frame frame advantageously has a raised edge 26 at its inner end, which edge rests on the frame of the cover. Like the whole construction. offers very high rigidity and dimensional stability, the gap @ 7 between the two edges can be very narrow, which is desirable for reasons of appearance, and moreover, notably has the effect of considerably reducing the penetration of dirt .
To carry out the assembly, one can adopt a method consisting, for example, in bringing to the site a frame, to which is fixed the corresponding border * and which, in the case of the cover, is already filled with concrete, while the other border is fixed in place, taking into account the height. This makes it possible to compensate for unevenness or a left embedment or to achieve a slope which might be required for whatever reasons. any reasons.
