<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

"Bobbin changer for automatic looms"
The subject of the present invention is a bobbin-changing device for automatic looms, which presents, in the devices currently used, certain important advantages, to which we will come back later, and among which we can cite: high precision with which the cane is introduced into the shuttle *
The following explanations will be better understood with reference to the accompanying drawings which show, by way of example, a practical embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 is an elevational view, and Figure 8 a top plan view of a bobbin changing apparatus established in accordance with the invention.
Figures 3 and 4 are two elevational views 90 of each other, showing the disconnector device, which maintains the cans in the can holder, and only lets these cans descend at the request of the change device. cans.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the device object of the invention comprises the following organs:
A can support 1. which is fixed to the breast of the loom, and which supports the various cans 2; this part 1 carries a shaft 3 on which are wedged a can transport member 4 and a lever 5, and a spring 6 tends to rotate in the direction indicated by arrow F (Fig. 1).
7 designates a support fixed to the frame 8.
9 designates the hunting leaf, 10 the hunting foot and 11 the shuttle.
The support 7 carries a shaft 12 on which are wedged two levers 13 and 14. The lever 15 comes to bear by an arm 15 against the end of the lever 5, and serves to maintain this lever and the conveyor 4 in the rest position shown. in FIG. 1, despite the action of the spring 6, as for the lever 14, it carries a roller 16 on which the end of a lever 17 mounted on the crankshaft 18 acts, and which is subjected to the action of a strong spring 19, which is fixed at 20 to this lever 17. Via the right shaft 18, said lever 17 is subjected to the action of the weft breaker.
20 'designates the bolt which maintains; the 'support 7 fixed to the
The end of the lever 14 carries an arm 21 which takes, from below to lift it, a notch lever 22 articulated at 23 to the support 7.
@
24 designates a stop which limits the rise of lever 17.
25 designates the hammer holder attached to the hunting foot
10. This hammer support carries a shaft 26 for the articulation of the bobbin introducer hammer 27.
This hammer is subjected to the action of a return spring
28 which tends to keep it raised.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
29 denotes the master arm of the hammer; the end of this arm is directly above the notched lever 22.
The operation takes place as follows, under the action of a weft breaker or a bobbin winder.
In the rest position, the parts 4 and 5 are held in the position shown under the action of the spring 19 which keeps the lever 17 lowered, which acts on the lever.
14 integral with the lever 13, the latter finally act by its arm 15 on the lever 5, and prevent the latter and consequently the transporter 4 from obeying the inaction of the spring 6. The hammer
27 is kept raised by its spring 28.
The weft breaker acts at the moment when the hunting wing moves backwards; the lever 17 rises and ineffective the action of its return spring 19. It therefore ceases its action on the lever 14; and, as no force is any longer opposed to Inaction of lever 6, the latter rotates in the direction of arrow F the assembly of conveyor 4 and lever 5.
The conveyor 4 in this movement disengages and drives the lower can 2 'and brings it in 2 "in line with the shuttle and the hammer. A re-spring 30 holds the can against the conveyor and prevents it from falling. fall before the hammer demands.
But, at the same time, the rotation of the lever 5 drives that of the lever 13 and consequently that of the lever 14, which lifts the notched lever 22, which assumes a horizontal position and comes into the axis of the arm. order 29.
All of these movements are performed while the Apple crankshaft is 3/4 of a turn. The introduction of the cane placed at 2 "in the shuttle takes place when the hunting leaf, turning forward, arrives at about four centimeters from the end of its stroke; at this moment , the end of the control arm, 29 engages in the notch of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
lever 22, and, the leaf continuing to advance, the hammer is lowered, grabs the can presented under it by the conveyor, and introduces it into the shuttle in an arc of a circle; the empty can is driven out at the same time through the opening made under the shuttle.
The transporter 4 is pushed backwards by the hammer until the hunting leaf reaches the end of the stroke.
At this moment, the weft breaker ceasing to act, the lever 17 is returned to the under position, the action of the spring 19 and returned to its initial rest position all the levers 14
13 and 5 and the transporter 4. A new oanette takes the place of the one which was trained previously; the hunting leaf retreating, the hammer is returned to its initial position by its spring 28, and the assembly is ready to effect a new bobbin change.
If, by chance, the shuttle was not exactly in place in the hunting box, when the conveyor comes to present the can to be loaded, the lever 13 would act as a stopper, and, hitting the shuttle at point 13, it would move back in front of her, producing the lowering of the lever
22 before the control arm 29 has come to engage in! its notch, and. by producing the recoil of the transporter; the change of bobbin would therefore be prevented.
We will now indiqn.er the advantages of the device of the invention.
First of all, as has already been said, the bobbin is introduced into the shuttle with a precision much greater than that which has been obtained hitherto.
The hammer being in fact fixed to the hunting leaf, moves with it in its course; it follows that, the axis of
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the shuttle and the axis of the hammer thus remaining at an invariable distance from each other, the arc described by the hammer always passes through the axis of the shuttle; then, the bobbin presented in the axis of the haette and held on one side by a guide fixed to the board, and, on the other, by the conveyor, does not risk taking a false position .
As a result, with the device described above, the absolute elimination of breakage of the cans is obtained.
In addition, this can change device enables the loom to be operated at very high speed without fear of. maladjustment of the device; the inertia to be overcome being minimal due to the low weight of the hammer, the bobbin change is carried out without shocks. The subject of the invention is also a seotionneur device which is intended to operate in combination with the device described above.
One embodiment of this seotionneur is shown in Figures 3 and 4.,
This disconnector consists of a horizontal coil 31, the axis of which is supported by tabs 32 integral with the slide uprights 1 and 1 'of the oanettes support. This reel carries at each of its ends a certain number of rods or needles 33 long enough to engage, as shown in FIG. 3, between the bobbins arranged in the bobbin holder. Between the needles of one of the ends of the coil 31, engages a control finger 34 integral with the shaft 3 on which the parts 4 and 5 are wedged.
As seen in Figure 3 the coil 31 tends to be driven in the direction of the arrow F 'under the action of the weight of the oanettes shown in A which are above the different needles 33, but this coil is im - mobilized by the finger 34.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
When an ohange of oanette takes place, the rotation of the conveyor 4 and consequently of the shaft 3, produces the momentary erasure of the finger 34; This allows the reel 31 to rotate at a certain angle under the weight of the rolls A, and to let one of these rolls fall freely at B onto the row of rolls which rest on the conveyor, thus replacing, in this pile, the oanette that has just been loaded into the shuttle.
Thanks to this disconnecting device, only a certain number of all the cans contained in the bobbin holder will be supported by the conveyor, the rest of the cans being supported and held by the needles of the spool 31 which drops these cans one by one. one at the request of the can changer.
It is understood that the embodiments which have just been described have been given only by way of example and that any constructive modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the invention. .
