<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
tringle 207.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

. Automatic winding machine.
It is known to add to the automatic winding looms, in particular those for crossed wire winding, spool magazines where the spools to be unwound are introduced by hand or automatically and where the end of the thread of the spools is rewound. - Searched Mechanically or pneumatically and prepared so as to be able Sire seized during the unwinding of these reels and directed towards the members of the winding station, the tying device for example.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Since the search for the end of a thread which is anywhere on the spool requires considerable work on the part of the automatic finder and preparation of the end of the thread, the spools are generally brought to the magazine intended for them. with the end of the thread already prepared at a specific location on the spool) for example in the form of a reserve at the tip of the latter. This preparation of the end of the thread is generally carried out either directly on the spinning machine or also on any mechanical devices, suitably forming the spools after spinning.
In automatic rewinding looms, it happens that the spools are unwound only partially and are then ejected from the loom due to a break in the wire between the spool and the tensioner.
When ejected spools are returned to a magazine with an automatic end-finding device, the latter should, in order to be able to be searched automatically, be prepared again in the same form, for example in a point reserve. Such preparation of the end of the wire would, however, impose additional work on the service personnel, since the preparation of the end of a wire by hand, for example in the form of a tip reserve, presents considerable difficulties. makes it possible to use, to feed the magazine of an automatic winder loom, with device for the automatic search and preparation of the end of the thread, spools of which, for example, the end of the thread is no longer prepared at a determined location of the reel, due to only partial unwinding of the latter.
According to the invention, in addition to the device for finding and automatically preparing the end of the thread from the bobbins found in the magazine, this also comprises a means for preparing the end of the thread 1 by hand.
For automatic search and preparation of the end

wire, one can, for example, use a suction pipe such as that described in German patent application R.18.330 VII a / 76d - 0482. Such a device may comprise, in accordance with the. present invention, an additional opening for the preparation of the end of the thread by hand * This additional opening can be provided with a closure member which, when it is firm, clamps the thread, as explained in the patent application German R. 23.103 VII / 76d - 0565.
As is also the case in the latter application, it is possible here to control the closure member by hand and as a function of the operation of the machine.
The invention will be explained by means of an exemplary embodiment, with reference to Figs. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing * Fig 1 shows the schematic arrangement of part of a winding station and Fig, 2 is a top view of the reel magazine, taken in the direction of arrow A .
On a shaft 1, is placed a wire guide drum 2, on which rests a spool 4 mounted in a support 3. The spool 4 is driven by the drum 2. The thread F, unwound from the spool to be unwound 5, s' winding on the spool 4. In the event of a breakage of the thread between the trimmer 19 and the spool 4, two search arms
6 and 10 lead the ends of the thread to the knotting device
9. When changing the reel to be unwound, another search arm 11 leads the thread thereof near the search arm 10 which, in turn, the conduit to the device; knotting.
The figure also shows a coil magazine to be unwound 20,, of round shape, mounted on a suction pipe 100. In this magazine, the coils are held in shells 201 which can rotate around the suction pipe 100 ot advancing one place, in the known manner, at each reel change. At one point of this reel magazine is an opening 204, normally closed by a valve 205.
This valve can be opened by the cam 111, through the two-arm lever 206 and the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
rod 207. Under the opening 204 of the magazine 20, there is a slide 202, on which the coils can slide on the mandrel 5a, after opening of the valve 205.
The suction pipe 100 comprises, at its end situated towards the store, a mouth 99 serving to automatically grasp the end of the wire prepared on the spools and to bring it to the winding station. A particularly suitable suction device is described, for example, in German patent application 0667 of 25.3.1963.
Another mouth 98 of the suction tube 100 can be closed by a closing arm 101. The latter is connected ', by means of its axis of rotation 101a and of a lever 101b, to the rod 108 which, to the intervention of the lever with two arms 109, 110 opens the mouth 98 under the action of the cam 111, so that a wire can be sucked in this place in the tube 100. Shortly after, the arm of closure 101 returns to its starting position and the end of the suction wire is immobilized at the edge of the suction pipe,
Flg * 2 is a view of the reel magazine 20, taken in the direction of arrow A.
It shows the suction pipe 100, around which the shells 201 can turn, as well as the movable arm 99a, placed above the first reel which must be fined on the mandrel 5 by the slide 202. The various shells 201 advance at a rate. place, in the known manner, at each reel change, the reels resting first on the bottom 203 of the magazine.
This bottom is pierced, above the slideway 202, with an opening 204 normally closed by the valve 205. When a reel is changed, the valve is moved apart, so that the reel can slide through the slide 202 on the chuck 5a.
After exhaustion of the coil 5, the empty tube is ejected and the mandrel 5a pi votes in the sound of the needles of a clock, so that a spindle leaving the magazine 20 by the slide 202 can slip onto the mandrel. The descent movement of
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the reel 5 'out of the magazine 20, by the slide 202, is made possible by the fact that, when changing the reel, a. As is known per se, the cam 111 is easy to rotate, so that, under the inaction of the boss 111a, the two-pitch lever 206 drives counterclockwise and its movement produced by the 'intermediary of the biéile 207,
a pivoting of the valve 205 in the direction of the needles of one against.
As soon as the spool 5 'has arrived from the magazine 20 on the mandrel 5a, the latter rotates again to meet the unwinding position indicated.But as the end of the wire is still retained in the suction pipe 100, the wire is tightened between this and the tip of the spool by sliding through the slot 20a of the magazine. By means of a control member known per se, not described in more detail, the arm 11 then pivots into the position drawn in phantom, driving the wire with it. As in the meantime, the arm 10 has rotated downwards, in the position indicated in phantom, the thread drawn up by the arm 11 can be wedged by the gripper of the arm 10 and fed to the knotting device. 9.
At the same time, the end of the thread of the winding spool 4 is led by the arm 6 to the knotter 9, so that the ends of the two threads can be tied together. When the knotting operation is finished, the thread running from the knotting device to the opening of the suction hose
100 is cut and can be sucked into the latter * If the spool threaded onto the mandrel is such as that designated by 5 "in the figure, the wire of which is stuck in the opening 98, the closure 101 is open to this moment by the cam 111, because shortly before the end of the reel change operation, that is to say shortly before the cam has reached its rest position shown in the figure, the boss 111a rotates the lever 109,
110 counterclockwise. In this way, on the one hand, the stuck wire end is released, so that it can also
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
be aspirated when it is cut after the knotting and on the other hand, the momentary opening of the mouth of Suction 98, after each change of coil, allows the wire to move with the 5 "coil around the pipe suction 100 and take a favorable position for this operation * In addition, during the momentary opening of the mouth, after each reel change,
the ends of thread which have been placed by hand in the mouthpiece 98 are sucked into the tube 100. When there is no special clamping device to fix the ends of the thread by hand to the mouthpiece 98, one can open it again momentarily by operating the handle 101c, in order to be able to bring the wire to the suction pipe 100.
