<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Fig. 8 im Querschnitt eine weitere erfindungsgemässe Einrichtung.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>

The invention relates to a doctor device for coating, dyeing, impregnating, painting or the like. Moving relative to the doctor device, in particular sheet-like material (substrate) such as textiles, carpets, foils, papers, cardboard, nonwoven, felt or the like with liquid, spreadable or flowable pasty, possibly foamed or melted substances, comprising a holding or guide bar extending over the working width in the longitudinal axis direction of the doctor device, a dimensionally stable but flexible doctor bar extending longitudinally with the holding / guiding bar, which is arranged on the holding / guide bar and under magnetic force of a magnetic device (15) opposite on the substrate of the doctor bar in the direction perpendicular or almost perpendicular to the substrate surface (working surface)
is slidably movable and a substance space which is formed between a surface section of the substrate, the doctor bar, the holding / guide bar and a wall bar parallel to these bars and extending over the working width.
The invention has for its object to provide a doctor device that for widely different amounts of substance application. Substance viscosities, contact forces, material properties of the substrate to be processed, arrangement positions of the squeegee bar and production speeds and for practically any working widths should be usable, wherein in particular one and the same squeegee bar should be usable for (partial) working widths assigned to different substances in order to use the squeegee device to perform a wide variety of squeegee processes and in particular the processing of liquid and / or flowable pasty substances on substrates such as carpets, foils, papers, cardboard, non-woven material, felt or the like.
to be able to perform
According to the invention, the object is achieved in combination with the features of the device mentioned at the outset in that blocks or bodies are inserted between the substrate surface section, the wall strip, the squeegee strip and the holding / guide strip, which are designed to have the same cross section as the substance space cross section, and thus the substance space on the transverse side sealingly bear against the substrate surface section, the wall strip and against the squeegee strip and possibly on the holding / guide strip and that the wall strip is arranged so as to be movable relative to the substrate surface in such a way that it seals the substance space with a contact surface and / or edge abuts the substrate surface.
A major advantage of the device according to the invention is that it can be used equally for application machines with relatively large working widths (for example Im and more) and with relatively small working widths (for example 0.5 m). The device according to the invention can be used for practically any working width lowest application thickness tolerances of less than +/- 0.02 mm have been achieved. In particular, it has been found that these results are guaranteed both with economical and with extensive applications.
Due to the insertion of the sealing blocks / body between the wall bar and the squeegee bar and possibly the holding / guide bar in combination with the relative movement arrangement of the wall bar against the work surface, it has been possible to equip the device with substances of different viscosities. H. to feed and operate with relatively thin, as well as with just flowable pasty substances. The sealing blocks / bodies always carry out a clearly defined application of substance.
The device according to the invention is particularly simple to build due to the avoidance of magnetically compressible sealing strips which are conventionally to be provided with magnetic pressure and is also easy to handle, assemble and clean and maintain. The magnetic pressing of the doctor blade strip by designing it with a magnetizable material and / or by exerting magnetic force on magnetizable parts of the holding / guide bar and transferring this force to the squeegee bar in combination with the arrangement according to the invention ensures the use of dimensionally stable squeegee bars,
which, on the one hand, contribute to the sealing of the substance space in their sliding-movable arrangement and, on the other hand, with a cross-section dimensioned for a relatively small working width and with the same cross-section can also be used for the largest working widths that are up to ten times as large as the smallest working width that the squeegee strip holding / sliding space is retained in a device according to the invention for the use of squeegee strips of different lengths with the same cross-section, so that special adaptations of the holding / guide strip and / or the sealing blocks / bodies for different working widths are omitted pointed out that the squeegee bar has a modulus of elasticity which is suitable for adapting the bending to the work surface.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
With regard to a device according to the invention, in which the wall strip forms a main carrier of the device, it is particularly advantageous that the sealing blocks / bodies are inserted between the wall strip, squeegee strip and holding / guide strip by means of a clamp and / or screw connection
A particularly simple embodiment of the device according to the invention consists in the fact that the squeegee is in direct sliding contact with the sealing blocks / bodies.
By means of a displaceable and / or displaceable arrangement of the sealing blocks / body between the wall bar and squeegee bar or holding / guide bar, the desired width of the substance space is achieved in a simple manner, with a suitable number of sealing blocks / bodies expediently placing several substance spaces next to one another It is particularly advantageous to design the sealing edges of the sealing blocks / bodies as cutting-like edges, corners or the like. As a result, different substances can be applied to a material web in sharp delimitation next to one another in order to carry out a strip coating or patterning.
It is very expedient to form the sealing blocks in each case from sealing body parts firmly bonded to one another, as a result of which sealing bodies adapted to different partial cross-sections of the substance space can be produced in a simple manner. A very particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention consists in that between two sealing body parts of a sealing block there is a through a strip, a layer or the like formed pressure-elastic element is inserted in order to support the sealing body part coming into contact with the substrate surface in a pressure-elastic manner.
With regard to such a measure, it can also be expedient for the sealing edge of a sealing block / body to come into contact with the substrate surface to be formed by a pressure-elastic element which is positively connected to the sealing block body, in particular by means of a plug connection.
It is particularly advantageous to pivotally or tiltably support the edge strip for substance-sealing contact against the substrate surface about an axis extending longitudinally parallel with the doctor device, the wall strip, with its own weight and / or due to magnetic force action, coming to bear against a magnetizable edge strip part against the substrate . Expediently, a magnetisable bar that is continuous over the working width is attached to the wall bar in the area of the wall bar contact surface facing the sealing surface on the wall bar. Another embodiment consists in that the wall bar for the substance-sealing system against the substrate surface in the direction perpendicular or almost perpendicular to Substrate surface is arranged movable.
To adapt the sealing area of the wall strip to the substrate surface, it is particularly advantageous to arrange a pressure-elastic sealing and sliding element which is continuous over the working width and which is adapted to the counterpart in the form of the part of the wall strip which comes into contact with the substrate surface
The device according to the invention is particularly suitable for the application of hot melt substances. For this purpose, a heater for melting the hot melt substances is arranged in or on the wall strip, which is preferably provided with a heat insulating wall
A special embodiment consists in arranging the device according to the invention in combination with a device designed at the same time as a counter-device and application device in order to provide a substrate web with a back coating at the same time.
Devices designed in accordance with the invention are suitable in each spatial arrangement for sealing the substance space and magnetically pressing the squeegee against a substrate surface, so that, optionally, applications from the side, from below or from above can be provided on a substrate, in particular very advantageously on the circumference of a substrate the roller guiding the substrate web.
Further advantages, expediencies, design types and exemplary embodiments of the invention emerge from subclaims and from the schematic drawing described below. Show it

Fig. 8 in cross section a further device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a device 1 according to the invention with a wall strip in the form of a beam-shaped angle profile beam 2, which extends at least over the working width parallel to the longitudinal extent of the device 1 and which by means of screw connections 3 and spacer sleeves 4 with a squeegee bar 9, in cross section rectangular guide bar 5 is connected, which extends over the working width in a parallel arrangement with the profile beam 2. A space 6 with an angled cross section with a front space 6b facing a material web 14 and a rear space 6a is thereby formed between the carrier 2, the guide bar 5 and the doctor bar 9, the carrier 2 with a sealing edge 22 on a vertically guided substrate web 14 is present.
It is particularly advantageous that the space 6b widens in cross section in the direction of the substrate web 14. In the space 6 formed in this way, at least in each end-side end region, a body wall 7 is inserted, which has the same shape and form-fitting shape and is composed of sealing body parts 7a and 7b with an intermediate piece 7c forming a pressure-elastic layer.
In the space area 8 between the bar 5 and the body parts 7b, which delimit the front space 6b on the transverse side, the squeegee bar 9 made of at least partially magnetizable material is used, which rests on the body parts 7b in a direction of movement in the direction of the double arrow 10 and - as in FIG. 1 can be arranged on the bar 5 with multiple screw connections 11 which leave the sliding mobility.
The squeegee bar 9 has a profile 12 which forms a work area and which can be shaped differently and which, in the operating state, bears against the work surface or the material web 14.
All parts 2, 5, 7a, 7b, 7c and 9 of the device 1 are joined to one another in a substance-sealing manner, the carrier 2 in the operating state with a sealing / contact strip 21 which extends over the working width lies against the material web 14 in a substance-sealing manner, and also edges or surfaces 71 of the parts 7b lie in a substance-sealing manner on the material web 14. Thus, between the parts mentioned, a closed space for substance 60 to be applied to the material web 14 is reached, the parts 7 and 7a, 7b, 7c forming the substance-limiting parts or blocks sealing the transverse or frontal side of the substance space. Overall, the device 1 is arranged in such a way that the squeegee strip 9 works against the upper side of the vertically running material web 14, which rests or is guided on the roll jacket 13 of a roll forming a counter-system.
In the area of the underside of the web 14, a magnet device 15 is arranged in the interior of the counter roll, which preferably comprises a controllable electromagnet device. With the magnet device 15, the squeegee bar 9, which is mounted for sliding movement, is pressed with its working profile 12 against the material web 14 or the roll jacket 13. The effective width of the magnet device 15 can be expanded by the magnet device 16 shown in dashed lines in FIG. 1 in order to magnetically detect a bar 17 made of magnetizable material arranged on the carrier 2 in the area of the contact bar 21. In the exemplary embodiment, the bar 17 which is continuous over the working width is arranged in a profile cavity 61 of the carrier 6 which is formed under the substance space 6.
It is particularly expedient to arrange heating devices 18 in the cavity 61 of the carrier 2 and to provide the carrier 2 on the outside with a heat insulating wall 19 in order to apply a so-called “hot-melt” substance with the device 1.
The device 1 can be freely pivoted or tilted by means of a swivel joint 20 about an axis 200 parallel to the longitudinal extent of the device 1. The hinge 20 is on the carrier
2 arranged below the substance space corner. 1 is therefore the center of gravity of the device 1 on the right side of the swivel joint 20, so that the device 1 is in preparation for the operating state by swiveling towards the roller
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
comes under its own weight against the roller, the abutment strip 21 and the wall edges 71 resting on the material web 14 in a substance-sealing manner. The contact pressure can be increased by mechanical aids, not shown, or by the magnetic force effect of the expanded magnetic device 16 on the bar 17.
By changing the cross-sectional dimensioning, the substance space or the substance contact area or distance between the uppermost contact edge 22 of the carrier 2 and the working area 12 of the doctor blade 9 can be enlarged or reduced. In this way, the absorption amount or the penetration depth of the application substance 20 into the substrate (into the material structure of the web 14) can be influenced
The coated or otherwise processed web 14 can, with the roller jacket 13 in contact, be continued for a desired distance, in order then to use an oblique trigger, for example in the direction of arrow 23 or z.
B can also be discharged in the horizontal direction (not shown). In the inventive device of the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, it is particularly advantageous to provide the goods removal in the vertical direction according to arrow 24
1, the device 1 is arranged so that the working profile 12 works against the side vertex of the counter roll. Of course, it is also possible that a device according to the invention of the embodiment according to FIG. 1 with the working profile 12 is arranged above or below the lateral vertex region of a counter roller or on an inclined working surface.
In FIG. 2, a substance side delimitation body or sealing body 7 with its wall parts 7a, 7b and 7c is shown in a partial sectional view according to A-B of FIG. 1. The elastic narrow intermediate piece 7c is provided as part of the body wall in the transition area of the spaces 6a and 6b, it being in the narrowest cross-section between the squeegee strip 9 and the carrier 2. Directional arrows 26 illustrate how the body 7 is pressed against the web 14 or the roller jacket 13 by the action of the pressure-elastic intermediate piece 7c between the parts 7a and 7b, a corresponding counterforce pressing the body 7 against the wall of the carrier 2.
The body 7 or the part 7b can be made entirely or partially of magnetizable material in order to bring the body 7 with the edge 71 of the part 7b under the action of the magnet device 15 to the tight sealing contact against the web 14. The contact edge 71 of the part 7b the roller jacket counter system 13 is positively adapted to reliably prevent lateral substance passage.
In particular when the body 7 is magnetically attracted to the web 14 or the roller jacket 13, the elastic intermediate piece 7c can also be omitted
3 shows a section of an embodiment variant of a device according to FIG. 1. In contrast to FIG. 1, the squeegee strip 9 can optionally consist of magnetizable or non-magnetizable material. For this purpose, the guide bar 5 is at least partially made of magnetizable material. The magnet device 15 thus magnetically attracts the bar 5, but in addition the squeegee bar 9 can also be designed to be magnetizable in order to press it magnetically onto the web 14. On the rear side of the guide bar 5 facing away from the material web 14, a plate 27 is arranged which protrudes beyond the guide bar 5 into the area of the rear of the doctor bar.
The plate 27 is clamped between the bar 5 and the spacer sleeve 4 by means of the screw 3. With magnetic attraction of the guide bar 5, the protruding plate edge acts in the direction of arrow 28 via an elastic element 29 on the back of the doctor bar 9 in order to press it with its working profile 12 against the roller jacket 13.
A special embodiment consists in that the elastic part 7c of the sealing body 7 is designed to be elastically softer or more flexible than the elastic element 29, as a result of which a greater contact pressure is built up in the contact area of the working profile 12 than in the contact area of the edge 71 of the wall part 7b. If the elastic element 29 is formed as in FIG. 3 as an elastic hollow body extending over the length of the squeegee and if this hollow body is filled with medium under pressure, the contact pressure along the uppermost contact edge 22 of the carrier 2 can be varied and changed by changing the pressure filling adjusted as required or the interaction of the contact pressure on the working profile 12 and the contact pressure on the contact edge 22 can be varied.
FIG. 4 shows a further embodiment according to the invention in a modification of the device according to FIG. 1. A recess slot 30 is formed in the guide bar 5, into which the squeegee bar 9 is inserted such that it can be moved by sliding, as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
only the squeegee bar 9 can be made of magnetizable material, or the pressure can at least additionally be achieved by means of the magnetizable guide bar 5. In the latter case, the elastic element 29 is used in a free space 300 of the slot recess on the back of the squeegee bar 9
4, the wall 31 of the slot recess 30 lies against the edges of the sealing body parts 7b in a substance-sealing manner.
At the end of the wall 31 facing the application area, an additional substance space 32 is formed, which extends in front of the squeegee work profile 12 between the work surface and the edge of the wall 31. A shape of the part 7b, which has the same cross-section and is adapted in a form-fitting manner, projects into this spatial area in order to prevent lateral substance leakage
In FIG. 5, which shows a view similar to FIG. 2, a sealing body 7 is provided with a part 7b which is not designed with a contact surface as in FIG. 2, but with a cutting edge 701 in the contact area against the web 14 . A sealing body 7 with the part 7b formed in this way can be provided in the middle of the working width or at other desired locations on the working width.
With several bodies 7 according to FIG. 5, substance spaces that are delimited from one another are formed over the working width. It has been achieved that different substances, in particular different color substances from the individual substance spaces between the sealing blocks, are applied next to one another in a clear demarcation. The cutting edge 701 only needs to be formed directly in front of the working profile 12, while the part 7b can also be formed with a contact surface according to FIG. 2. By using several parts 7 with a substance separating and sealing edge 701 according to FIG. 5, several different substances can be used Production of a strip coating to be worn.
6 shows on the left-hand side of a vertically guided web 14, which is movable in the direction of arrow 24, a device according to the invention similar to FIG. 1, FIG. 3 or FIG. 4, which is movable transversely to the material web 14, in particular swiveling as in FIG. 1 , is arranged The guide bar 5 is provided as an angle profile bar. In this way, screw connections 11, by means of which the squeegee bar 9 is fastened so as to be displaceable transversely to the material web 14, are accessible from the outside for assembly
In contrast to the exemplary embodiments shown in FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, according to FIG. 6, a contact surface for the material web 14 is designed as a narrow strip-like surface 131 of a contact angle profile strip 33 which, for.
B. is fastened with screw connections 34 to a profile carrier 132, which is designed as a so-called magnetic bar, in which the magnet devices 15 are inserted. The profile strip 33 with the surface 131 is made of non-magnetizable material, so that the magnetic force of the magnetic device 15 can act on the magnetized doctor blade strip 9 unhindered via the working profile 12. The surface 131 is not only provided and designed as a contact / counter surface for the working profile 12 of the squeegee bar 9, but also as a rear side application surface 121 on the web 14.
The magnetic bar profile carrier 132 is arranged in a stationary manner, at least in the operating state, so that the spatial position of the squeegee strip 9 is determined by the surface 131 or by the contact area of this surface on the web 14.
The substance to be applied to the web 14 can either be supplied from one side, in particular if the web 14 has a lattice-shaped structure, or the substance can also be supplied from both sides, the supply on the right side in FIG. 6 by a the substance width-distributing feed device 35 takes place, which is arranged below the profiled support 132 and into which the substance enters the opening 37 in the direction of the arrow 36 and enters the substance chamber 40 on the right through openings 39 upwards.
FIG. 7 shows a further exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention, which is arranged in the region of the upper apex of a counter roll. The roll shell 13 of such a roll is drawn in sections. The carrier 2 is fixed to fastening parts 201. It is either pivotally and fixedly connected to the fastening parts 201 as in FIG. 1 by means of a swivel joint 20, or it is fixed on the fastening parts 201 in the horizontal direction and held in the vertical direction so that it can be moved Surface 13 or on the web 14 lies freely with its own weight. The squeegee bar 9, which is fastened in the vertical direction 10 in a freely movable manner by means of screw connections 11 to a support and holding bar 5, lies freely on the web 14 with its working profile or contact area 12.
Depending on the required job performance, the work profile 12 is shaped differently and it exists
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
made of magnetizable or non-magnetizable material As in the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 1, 3, 4 and 6, the squeegee bar 9 is held vertically movably on the carrying and holding bar 5, namely by means of the appropriately designed screw connection 11. Of course, the Bar 5 can also be provided with a slot recess as in FIG. 4, or the arrangement of the at least partially magnetizable squeegee bar that can be moved by sliding can be done in another suitable manner
The doctor bar 9 can be formed in one piece or be composed of two or more parts.
The strip 5 is laterally attached at both ends with angle pieces 51 or in another suitable manner to a machine frame part, not shown, such as a support plate. The parts 201 and a joint part of the joint 20 are also firmly connected to the machine frame part, so that the carrier 2 and the bar 5 are just as firmly connected to one another as in the previously described exemplary embodiments. A precisely delimited or spaced substance space 6 is formed equally between the carrier 2 and the doctor bar 9 resting on the holding bar 5, into which the shape-limiting body 7, which is substance-tightly delimiting the space 6 on the transverse side, is again preferably movable in the longitudinal direction of the squeegee device are used.
The sealing bodies 7 are positively adapted to their shape in the contact area of the working profile 12. For the substance-sealing contact of the sealing bodies 7 against the web 14, a contact surface according to FIG. 2 and / or a cutting edge 701 according to FIG. 5 is formed.
The substance is fed into space 6 from above, either by hand or by suitable devices. When using substances containing solvents, space 6 above is e.g. closed with a lid, not shown. This is then provided with suitable inlet openings for connection to substance supply lines
FIG. 7 also shows that the shape touching the web 14 or the actual work / application profile 12 of the squeegee strip 9 does not necessarily have to have firm contact with the support or roller surface 13 guiding the web 14. In a number of applications, it is particularly advantageous that the working profile 12 touches the web 14 in the area in which the web 14 is just lifting off the surface 13 or has already been lifted off, as shown in FIG. 7.
In the same way as in the previously described exemplary embodiments, a flat, horizontally running support surface can also be provided in a device according to the invention as shown in FIG. 7 instead of a curved support surface 13. Of course, the support 2 with its contact surface is then adapted to the flat work surface
In contrast to the previously described exemplary embodiments, the carrier 2 in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 7 in the region of the carrier surface 210 and the contact edge 22 does not necessarily have to be in contact with the contact surface contact with the web 14, since the gravity effect of the application substance due to the spatial arrangement of the device above the web 14 acts to a much lesser extent on the area under the contact edge 22 than, for example, in the arrangement of the furnishings according to FIG. 1.
In the moving state of the web 14, a highly viscous or solid-containing substance does not build up any substance pressure on the area under the contact edge 22, so that a line contact arrangement of the contact edge 22 is sufficient.
8 shows in cross section a further embodiment of a device according to the invention, which is largely constructed in combination of the embodiment variants shown in FIGS. 1, 3, 4 and 7
A web 14 to be provided with substance is guided in a horizontal plane in a straight line over a flat table 150 into which the magnet device 15 is inserted. The direction of movement of the web, the z. B. can be an endless conveyor belt is marked with arrow S.
The wall bar 2 consists of a solid load-bearing bar with a rectangular cross-section, into which an elastically deformable sealing and also cleaning - z. B. Foreign body removing - bar 21 is used.
At the top or the opposite edge of the wall strip 2 is e.g. by means of a wing nut screw connection, an additional trough can be removed or attached, the outer edge of which is designed as a handle.
The wall bar 2, as shown in Fig. 1, is firmly connected with screw connections 3 and spacer sleeves 4 to the holding / guide bar 5, which may also be designed as a pressure bar for the knife doctor bar 9, the doctor blade 9 inserted into a bar recess 30 being movable with it a plug connection 110 is secured against undesired sliding out when the device 1 is pivoted up.

The doctor blade strip 9 or the holding strip 5 or both strips can consist entirely or partially of magnetizable material. If the bar 5 is made of magnetizable material, the bar 5 acts via the magnetic force entering the area 51 (possibly additionally) as an element which causes a contact pressure, the contact pressure being exerted by the pressure-elastic or pressure-deformable strip or strip-shaped element 29 in the direction of the above drawn arrow D acts on the contact area 12 of the knife doctor 9.
Substance-limiting bodies 7 are slidably inserted or pushed into the space 6 in accordance with the cross-sectional fit accuracy, which is characteristic of the invention, and are designed to form a multi-part and form-fitting seal against one another.
The side of each total body 7 facing the substrate web 14 consists of a profile strip 7d inserted in the front end region of the device 1, on the side walls of which pressure-elastic and sealing strips 7c are attached, the longitudinal extent of which is equal to the longitudinal extent of the strip 7d.
A strip element 7c rests on the wall strip 2, another on the doctor blade 9 in its lower region. For this purpose, the wall 31 of the strip 5 facing the space 6 is shortened to form a recess 52
An element 7c filling the recess 52 bears against the squeegee strip 9 and the substrate surface 14 in a pressure-elastic manner.
In the upper area of the space 6, sealing parts 7e are inserted at the end, which rest on the sealing and profile strips 7d or the elements 7c via associated sealing elements 7c.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 8, each of the two sealing parts 7e is designed as a cuboid sealing strip. On the part of the sealing strip 7e which extends in the end region of the device 1, a slot-like recess 41 is formed, which is open on the front and on the longitudinal side and extends from the front the device 1 anomalous screw / sleeve connection 3.4 is penetrated. The slot recess 40 is dimensioned in the longitudinal direction of the sealing strip 7e so that the latter can be displaced relative to the screw 3 and the sleeve 4 in the longitudinal direction of the device.
The fork-like wall parts of the slot recess 41 protrude on the end face of the device 1, or on the fork parts protruding handling parts are attached on the end face in order to be able to move the sealing strip 7e by means of the protruding parts or to bring it into a desired position. By pushing the two sealing strips 7e in far, the substance space above the sealing profile strips 7d is reduced to the desired extent in the longitudinal direction of the device.
The two sealing profile strips 7d with their lateral sealing strips 7c are so long that they can be inserted into the device up to the mutual impact system. Even in the case of a butting system, the profile strips 7d still protrude from the end of the device, or at their outer ends, protruding handling parts are attached at the end, so that the profile strips 7d can be brought into a desired insertion position by means of the protruding parts.
Of course, the devices according to the invention described above can also be provided with strips 7e and 7d which can be operated from the end faces, as is shown, for example, in FIG. B. is shown in dashed lines in FIG. 7. A special embodiment also consists in that sealing strips 7e and / or 7d are inserted into the space between the profile carrier 132 and the substrate web 14 in order to form the substance space 40 of the device according to FIG. 6.
An essential advantage of the space 6 formed or subdivided with the strips 7e and 7d is that the width of the substance contact area on the substrate web 14, ie the width determined by the lower space set between the strips 7d. H. the application width can be changed independently of the longitudinal dimension of the upper filling space set between the strips 7e. This enables the following in particular:
At the end of operation or in the event of a temporary interruption in operation, the lower substance space opposite the substrate surface 14 can be completely closed by pushing together the two sealing profile strips 7d (with strips 7c attached to them) until the inner end faces come into abutment.
As a result, the substance is displaced upward and held in the remaining upper residual space between the inner end faces of the two sealing strips 7e.
Similar to Fig. 1 or 7, the wall bar 2 is pivotally mounted on a machine frame, not shown, by means of a swivel joint 20. In particular, with the lower space closed by inserted strips 7d, the device 1 can be dashed in FIG. 8

shown position are pivoted by about 120, whereby the substance located in the upper space 6 flows into the additional trough 63. This can be removed by loosening the fastening, so that the substance can be removed without loss and contamination. In the reverse order, the additional trough 63 is filled and the device 1 is loaded with substance. An inclined outer surface 64 is very advantageously formed on the bottom of the additional trough 63, which comes into contact with a supporting surface 65 after the device 1 has been swung up.
