Claims (7)

1. Apparatus for coating webs of material (3) comprising a magnetic bar (1) which is arranged on one side of the web of material or a magnetic roller which is preferably arranged to be stationary, wherein a spreading means (2) which is arranged on the opposite side of the web of material is pressed against the web of material by the magnetic bar or roller, characterised in that a second spreading means (4) is also disposed at the second side of the web of material (9), in opposite relationship to said spreading means (2) and supporting same, or the magnetic bar or the magnetic roller (1) is in the form of a spreading means.
2. Apparatus according to claim 1 characterised in that the second spreading means (4) consists in contact in a wedge-shaped configuration against the magnetic bar (1) (Figures 3 and 4).
3. Apparatus according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that at least one of the two spreading means (2, 4) is rounded in the region of contact against the web of material (3) (Figure 5).
4. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 3 characterised in that at least one spreading means (2, 4) includes a wiper blade which is mounted in a wiper holder (8) and which is loaded by a bar member (5, 9) which is mounted independently of the wiper holder (8).
5. Apparatus according to claim 4 characterised in that the wiper blade is mounted in the wiper holder (8) rotatably and possibly slightly displaceably in the longitudinal direction.
6. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the spreading means (2, 4) which are arranged on opposite sides of the web of material (3) have spreading edges which are slightly displaced relative to each other in the longitudinal direction of the web of material.
7. Apparatus according to one of claims 1 to 6 characterised in that the web of material moves downwardly so that a wedge-shaped trough is formed between the two spreading blades or bar members (Figure 8).
