Abstract
Un método para la producción fermentativa de hidroximetionina, que comprende las etapas de: cultivar un microorganismo recombinante modificado para producir metionina en un medio de cultivo adecuado que comprende una fuente de carbono, una fuente de azufre y una fuente de nitrógeno, recuperar la hidroximetionina del medio de cultivo. En una forma de realización específica, el microorganismo recombinante se cultiva en condiciones de limitación de nitrógeno. También se divulga hidroximetionina producida biológicamente y sus usos en composiciones para nutrición animal y composiciones cosméticas.
