Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para la producción fermentativa de hidroximetionina, que comprende las etapas de: - cultivar un microorganismo recombinante modificado para producir mebonina en un medio de cultivo adecuado que comprende una fuente de carbono, una fuente de azufre y una fuente de nitrógeno, - recuperar la hidroximetionina del medio de cultivo; en una modalidad específica, el microorganismo recombinante se cultiva en condiciones de limitación de nitrógeno; la invención también se refiere a hidroximetionina producida biológicamente y sus usos.
